The Lake Hotel is the ultimate Killarney experience - excellent in every way. Every single person cares about the guests and want your stay to be the best it can be. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the views cannot be beat. The hotel is close to everything, and also provides a jump on/jump off bus stop to see everything there is to see in Killarney with very little effort. The rooms are gorgeous and well fitted out (mini fridge, shower, good layout). The breakfast buffet is outstanding - half of the restaurant is taken over with so many options, plus they will make you whatever you want. Overall, the best experience I've had in a hotel.

The setting of this hotel is phenomenal. The views of the lake and mountains are breath taking and its worth coming here for this alone. There is a somewhat dated charm to this hotel and the hospitality of all of the staff is top rate. The dinner at the Castle Lough restaurant was michelin star quality, we were blown away by it. We have eaten in many top rated restaurants around the world and this restaurant is right up there with the best at an extremely reasonable price for what you get. If you are staying here, push the boat out and have dinner here too. My only criticism is that the mattress and pillows in our room (309) were not great, pillows were lumpy and mattress a bit hard although family staying in other rooms said they had the opposite exyso maybe some rooms are updated more than others. My advice to the hotel is change the pillows at least asap as this is a cheap fix otherwise everything else was absolutely perfect. The two female singers in the bar were outstanding too.…

This hotel is positioned at one of the most beautiful locations I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains never got old and were an amazing place to call home during our trip to Kerry. The cherry on top of the cake was the amazing staff throughout the hotel who made our relaxing stay, even more enjoyable by their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. Will definitely be returning and telling everyone that this is the only hotel to consider when staying in Killarney!

We stayed at the Lake Hotel for 3 nights in May. Firstly, the lake view room was spectacular, the balcony provided views of the castle ruin, lake and the mountains. The surrounding national forest has enough trails that would take more time than we had to complete. Muckross castle is only a few easy kilometers walk on paved paths. The hotel itself is well appointed with nice linens, great water pressure, and most importantly to me, nice pillows. The restaurant has a nice breakfast buffet each morning, with some made to order options. The bar has a great irish whiskey selection along with a decent amount of beers on tap. The bistro has some nice lunch selections and also provides an option in the evening if the dining room is too pricey. As far as the evening meal in the dining room, the food is more continental than Irish. However, that is not to say it is anything other then top grade. Ma companions and I all ordered something different as we had purchased a 3 course meal as part of our plan. I highly recommend the halibut. During our morning outing one morning one of the ownership family provided us with great suggestions for visiting the ring of Skellig to see the Cliffs of Kerry. It was a great recommendation as it put us off of the main travel route of the large tour buses and gave us a chance to take a car ferry to the small island of Valentia and the Valentia Light. …

Such a relaxing beautiful hotel. The staff are incredible just the right amount of attention. We were blessed with the weather but have visited in all weathers and it's still just as beautiful. It's an ideal base to explore the ring of Kerry or just to chill out and enjoy the surroundings. We will be back!

What a wonderful place to stay. The Lake view rooms were terrific. The food at the bistro was excellent. The breakfast each morning was terrific. The front desk was so welcoming! They were a real help as we mapped out our trip. All the staff throughout the hotel were friendly. The rooms were large and clean and the view from everywhere in the hotel were stunning. We hope to return again!

We enjoyed two wonderful suppers in the Bistro, and two fabulous breakfasts. The setting is so nice and quiet. The bar area was a great gathering place for many in our group of twenty-five staying two nights in the hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed with a great view of the lake.
