This was our second time visiting the Randles and we were not disappointed! The hotel is perfectly located, only a ten minute walk from Killarney town. There is also a bike rental shop situated directly opposite the hotel which is very convenient. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms were lovely and spacious with luxurious shampoos and soaps. Although we did not find one of the male waiters to be particularly friendly on our first night, this did not greatly hinder our experience, as the other staff were very welcoming and were very happy to accommodate all of our needs throughout our stay! There was a large choice of cooked breakfast as well as a breakfast buffet which was lovely. If you are staying here we would recommend requesting to be seated in the breakfast room with the tiled floor as it is a beautiful room with lovely natural light. Although we didn’t dine in the hotel restaurant there were plenty of well recommended restaurants within walking distance. The outdoor bar is also a lovely place to relax and overlooks a beautiful view. The hotel was very geared up towards social distancing and sanitisation and we felt very safe there. Overall we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning.

I am delighted to read that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay with us at Randles Hotel and I an grateful for your complimentary feeback on our rooms, location, breakfast selection, restaurant and terrace. We have put a lot of work into our covid measures and to see our efforts recognised in your observations is well received. Again thank you for your feedback and we too look forward to welcoming you back to Randles again in the future. Regards, Tom Randles

Spent 3 nights here as a family with joining rooms in mid August 2020. Overall, very good experience and happy to recommend. Pros include:

Very clean and good Covid safety
Good location about .5km from town centre and park entrance
Friendly local staff (Niall serviced us a number of times and was very good)
Pool decent size and enjoyed by kids (you need to book slot in advance to ensure social distance)
Nice covered, outdoor area for drinks
Pet friendly
Decent pint of Guinness served (not perfect each time but good enough)

Minor downsides:
the breakfast options are good but taste a little disappointing (the smoked salmon was not great) and the servers sometimes only offered basic options but we had a better er service (eg Niall) get us the others eg kids wanted grapefruit juice which was available but required more effort from server
We were in room over the service delivery side. There was noise early morning from deliveries (including a noisy reversing alarm-not great at 6am!)

We did not eat in the restaurant so can not comment on that.

Overall I'd be happy to give a 5 star on basis I'd go back again.

Dear Winter_Dad Thank you for your great review! it is great to read your kind comments about our team and location. We are delighted that you managed to sample most areas of the hotel - the bar, leisure centre and terrace. They are very comfortable but all very different and perfect for relaxing with family. Next time you must sample the evening restaurant food !! I appreciate your comments on breakfast an area that receives constantly great feedback but we will investigate with the team. It is very important for us to know that our guests had a wonderful stay and we appreciate you taking the time to pass on your comments. Best regards, Tom Randles

We visited Randles Hotel for 3 nights as a couple. It’s a nice hotel that is close to the town and the national park and has a nice pool area.
We had dinner one night in the hotel and the food was top class but unfortunately the service let it down. We ordered red wine and when it arrived, it was placed on the table, not opened for us, not tasted, or poured, just left on the table. The starter plate had only been removed when the main course arrived. Such a shame because the food was so perfect. The staff were always friendly, even at dinner but the young man at dinner was nervous and needed more training on how to serve.
We had drinks in the bar each evening and had afternoon tea one lunch time in the bar and it was absolutely faultless. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Shame there is no TV in the bar or anywhere down stairs. We wanted to watch the rugby and because of current guidelines we couldn’t watch it anywhere else. Every other hotel we asked at, would only reserve tables for their own guests because the match was on.
The room was nice and spacious and relaxing. The bed was big and cosy. Their is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but I had read on the website that I could ask for a tea tray to the room so I called reception and she said no. I asked if she even just had a kettle I could use to make coffee in the room and she said no.
Toiletries in the room were nice but I would expect a shampoo and separate conditioner. Robe and slippers are a nice touch.
I would return to Randles again because of the fact that it’s within walking distance of absolutely everything and plenty of parking. Staff are nice and friendly and hotel was nice and clean and pool area was nice.

Thank you AoifeD979, for your review of Randles hotel Killarney. We are delighted that you enjoyed your spacious bedroom, our food options / offerings and found our location to be so central. I am sorry that the service your experience on one evening was not to the level which we are accustomed to and I have noted your comments on the areas above and identified areas for further staff training. We hope to welcome you back again sometime soon. Warm wishes Tom Randles

Whilst we checked into the Randles Hotel, we were informed that our room wouldn’t be serviced during our stay, we understood this to be the norm in the COVID era. We asked about booking dinner for the restaurant and the receptionist didn’t know if it was open or not (Tuesday night).

There was no guest information in the room about the facilities available in the room (pool opening times, menu for restaurant, WiFi etc). The bar appeared to have a very limited selection, while there may have been a greater selection available, no drinks menu was presented and the visible choice was poor.

The dinner was totally overpriced at €32.50 for a 2 course meal. While the food was very good, the same could be bought much cheaper down the road. The breakfast buffet was very limited, but the cook to order menu was extensive. When we returned on the second day from our travels, our room cards didn’t work, no worries that was sorted very quickly. When we got into the room, we found our room had been serviced even though we were told that it wouldn’t be, naturally we had left our belongings about in the room and I even had some wedding cake left in the room from a family wedding over the weekend. The wedding cake and my plate were nowhere to be found. I returned to reception to find out why our room had been serviced, perhaps some mix up with the booking as the cards also weren’t working. The housekeeper was at reception and got very defensive insisting that the new staff in housekeeping must have went in and serviced the room. I can’t help but wonder, if it is the hotels policy not to service the room of a guest, why did the housekeeper commit to cleaning when they seen our belonging scattered about the room.

We could hear the elevator from our room every time it went up and down along with every word our neighbours said as our room had an adjoining door - we even heard their 04:30 alarm. We went to the swimming pool but didn’t stay long as the algae and grime on the tiles at water level of the pool was mingin’ for a 4 star hotel.

On the third day, our cards stopped working after 12 noon again - another trip to reception to get them reactivated.

It wasn’t all bad though, the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and a good size.

Given the amount of good reviews the hotel has, and that we stayed here before many years ago we were so disappointed. We won’t be returning for a another stay.

Dear Liam, Thank you for feedback following your recent stay with us. Firstly, may I apologise for the anomalies of communication during your stay. For the safety of guests and team members we do only service the rooms on request for guests that are staying more than one night with us. However not to deflect the issue, human error does occur and it appears a new member of staff proceeded to service the room in error and for this we apologise. Our pre arrival emails which guests receive 3 days prior to check-in detail restaurant menu , pool opening times, in addition to our website providing these details. We appreciate your feedback on the food offerings at Randles. The pricing is in line with many 4* establishments in Killarney and beyond. I am delighted you enjoyed our cooked to order breakfast which is as your describe extensive and plentiful. We will also investigate further with our leisure centre team. I am happy to see your found some positive also during your stay and we are thankful for your kind words regarding your room and bed. I am again sorry that this visit did not live up to your expectations, we would hope you would give us another chance in the future and should you decide to do so, please contact me directly. Best Regards, Tom Randles

We booked Randles for our wedding anniversary weekend and it did not disappoint. The hotel itself is beautiful and in an excellent location, only 5min walk to town centre and a short drive to all the beautiful local attractions. We booked a deluxe double room and we were pleasantly surprised to arrive to a King size bed in a good sized room, room was spotless and the bed was super comfy. We were also greeted with popcorn and chocolate truffles which was a nice little touch. The food was amazing from breakfast to dinner and we spent both nights sat in the heated terraced area for drinks, overlooking the beautiful view of the mountains. All staff from reception to bar staff were very helpful, chatty and friendly especially the bars waiters who looked after us on the terrace both evenings, Aidan and another young man (we didnt manage to get his name regretfully). Two lovely young men, a great asset to the team there at Randles. Also to the Restaurant/breakfast manager, he is another super asset, nothing was too much trouble for him and very friendly. I only marked the review down a star because there is no bar service after 5pm leaving the only option for evening food to the restaurant (think this may be a staffing issue) . Its only a little thing though really because the hotel is so close to the town, we walked into town the 1st evening as we only wanted some light bites not a full meal. It was fine and didnt inconvience us too much but i do think if at all possible the bar food service should be extended to 9pm. We also found the restaurant menu on the second evening when we ate there to be a little limited, not much choice. We were able to overlook it though as the food we did order was so delicious and the service was super fast. Overall and taking into account the times we are living in (Covid pandemic and businesses trying to do their best) we had a really great stay and would recommend to friends to stay here but maybe just keep in mind that a trip into town of an evening may be warranted should you be looking for a bit of liveliness to your night and the option of a light bites bar menu after 5pm.

Thank you Tina for your complimentary review. I am delighted to hear that you had a fabulous time with us for your wedding anniversary recently. Randles is certainly the place to go when you want to celebrate any special occasion as the service and food is always guaranteed to be exceptional, as you have also identified above. We appreciate your feedback on the dinner and are working hard to satisfy all guests, but our restaurant a la carte menu is proving very popular and bursting with flavour for guests. Thank you for your wonderful review and we look forward to welcoming you back to make more special memories in the near future. Best Regards, Tom Randles.

My husband and myself booked a signature room for a two night stay and had a great experience from check in to check out. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely warm room with a scenic view of the mountains. The furniture in the room was a beautiful mahogany with plenty of mirrors and the bed was big and comfy. We made good use of the complementary dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries. We enjoyed the excellent leisure facilities (especially the steam room) and gained great pleasure from wandering around the public areas admiring the fabulous art collection of pictures, statues and antique furniture. Thank you to all the staff at Randles Court Hotel for helping to make our stay a great experience. A special mention to Bronagh, Azz, Angela and Kasrun (not sure if I have the correct spelling for Kasrun, but nothing was too much trouble for this lovely lady.

Beautiful hotel, had the potential to be the perfect weekend. The location was excellent! The food was lovely. Staff were efficient but not very friendly. There wasn’t a space left for our car in the car park so we had to park it behind the garage across the road which made moving luggage etc difficult. Our room was beautiful and so clean and comfortable. However, the WiFi didn’t stretch as far as our room, we had no tea/ coffee making facilities as advertised and we could hear everything in the next room. We were also beside a fire exit door and every time it opened and closed it sounded like someone was knocking on our door which was a little disconcerting late at night and early in the morning. I paid for a deluxe room and it was a gift to my partner so I was a little disappointed because of the amount of money we spent. Not sure if it was worth the value for money.

Dear Mimishell, Thank you for taking the time to post your review following your recent stay at Randles and I appreciate your kind feedback on our location and food. Our warm friendly hospitality is often commented on so I am naturally disappointed to read your comments on our staff, but thank you for highlighting. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 we have had to adapt and to enhance guest safety, we have been advised to remove any non essential items that are potential touch points from guest bedrooms . As you have noted and among other items, we chose to remove our "all in one tea/Coffee tray" which incorporates a number of attached pieces including the element that cannot be washed in a machine and is unsuitable for sanitisation. Tea or Coffee is available through room service and appreciate we could have communicated our position more clearly. I am personally reviewing your issues in relation to the exit door. Regards, Tom Randles.

We stayed just one night but it managed to sour an otherwise glorious week in Killarney.

I am not being a crank when I say that they have definitely the worst food in any commercial establishment we’ve been in maybe ever!! Just scroll down and see others comments from this month to confirm the same. With rooms all over 175 a night it’s expected that dinner is at very least decent ( see photo attached) Their explanation was covid but as we’d been dining in FAR busier spots in Killarney all week we know that it can be done and done well.

The front of house are clearly doing their best and tried to accommodate us as we wanted to eat outside or in a space with decent ventilation (this week having seen a shocking Covid spike) . The problem is that the outside seating is for drinks only.

Outside they have safe space for seating easily 30 people ( the restaurant had no more than 15-20 stuck inside) so why not let people eat in the sunshine…

The wine with Dinner was excellent but our second bottle ( now allowed back outside) was corked . We felt embarrassed about having tried to get food served outside and now the corked wine so we slipped away from our table and kindly asked front desk where could we get a drink in town. She very kindly indicated a few spots but asked why we were leaving. We explained and she insisted on a new bottle on the house. Delighted we sat back down when suddenly another staff member arrived. He marched up and began to question the veracity of our claim loudly in a crowded bar. We were mortified ! We looked like complete dic*s after trying to slip out and enjoy Killarney. He made us feel absolutely terrible.

We drank quickly the gift replacement and straight away went to town.

Rooms are comfortable and basic many facing a courtyard which makes them terribly overlooked. We had to have the curtains closed at all times. The ventilation is clearly on low to save energy so the bathrooms are constantly damp .

We felt that this long rambling complaint was needed as it’s clear that the staff have a high turnover and the clientele is being robbed. The “Sommelier “ and our waitress made us feel like we had come uninvited and were basically in a strop. This suggests questionable management. ( bill for entire stay 250 euros) I cant see how they think this is a decent offer.

I would like to reinforce our thanks to the front of house, especially the woman who booked me in and later brought us to our table ( names cant be found as currently their site is down..)

Dear James S, Thank you for your feedback. I am disappointed you didn't enjoy your stay with us to the levels we would wish for. We are operating our business in the COVID environment in accordance with strict Failte Ireland operational guidelines and many of these rules impact slightly on the guest experience. As mentioned previously, with local restaurants & bars closed during the period you stayed with us and due to losses in seating capacity a buffet was the only solution for us to insure that we can cater for the higher than normal customer demand for beverages and dining. I am delighted to advise we have been able to revert back to a restaurant dining offering in the meantime. I also apologise, but there was never any intention to cause any embarrassment or discomfort by our staff member trying to explain regarding the wine. I appreciate your kind feedback for our front desk team and again thank you for your review. Regards, Tom Randles.

We enjoyed our stay to a degree but I wouldn't bring pets here unless you want to eat or drink from your bedroom. It's a shame its advertised as dog friendly as it isn't in reality. "no pets on the terrace" sign as you walk into reception is a bit of a give away. There is no indication before your get there that you will be spending the entire time eating in your room so I wouldn't recommend it for pets.
The restaurant staff were kind and offered to bring the food to our room and the pool staff were both friendly and helpful.

No one person in particular are at fault its just not set up for a comfortable stay if you plan on bringing a pet.

Thank you Brendan for taking the time to post your review following your recent stay with us. We are disappointed that you felt we didn't welcome your dog but I can assure you we do welcome dogs and in line with our pet policy which can be viewed on our website prior to arrival, we do our best to ensure a pleasant stay for all. While dogs are not permitted in the main terrace we do offer an outdoor space for guests wishing to enjoy a drink with their pets. We also are in close proximity of venues which are also dog friendly and who offer dog friendly dining spaces. We are renowned for being one of Killarney few dog friendly hotels for many years and our policy is very much in line with other pet friendly 4* hotels throughout the country. We are delighted that our staff took great care of you all and hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Randles again in the future. Best Regards, Tom Randles.

After a busy and hectic few months we recently stayed in a Junior Suite for 3 nights, taking advantage of the exceptionally priced "3 for 2" offer and seeking a relaxing getaway. From start to finish, everything was perfect.

The room itself was huge with large chairs, tables, window seats, electric fireplace and TV with soundbar and on all 3 nights we had the most comfortable sleep we have ever had in a hotel bed. The bathroom had a rainfall shower plus a tub with a TV built into the wall and luxury toiletries.

Cooked breakfast to order on all 3 mornings was superb with lots of variety at the buffet in addition. My partner is gluten free and as a result can be made to feel a bit awkward in some places and/or find it tricky, but Randles offered excellent gluten free options for both breakfast and dinner with zero fuss.

We stayed Wednesday to Saturday and whilst naturally much busier on Friday than midweek, there was no drop-off in the care and attention from the staff.

Location is literally a 5 minute stroll into Killarney Town Centre and therefore the perfect base for those looking to explore the centre or surrounds.

All staff we encountered along the way were lovely, from reception/breakfast/bar etc, and special mention to the lady working in accommodation on Friday and Saturday morning who was so friendly and did a great job in doing up our room long past the normal morning hours.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the legendary Dexter Randles, although upon enquiry were told by a staff member that he was last heard from on vacation in Las Vegas! 😂

We were gutted to have to leave Randles and go back to reality, which says a lot about how good this stay was. From a frequent traveller who lives in Ireland, the "3 nights for 2" offer with a cooked breakfast included each morning in a property of this quality and in this location is one of the best value stays you will find in Europe, let alone Ireland.

We will definitely be back far sooner rather than later and are already planning our next trip!
