Add up all the things that make a hotel great and The Killarney Park Hotel ranks excellent in all the criteria. Excellent atmosphere with amazing staff. The concierge knows the best pubs and the best tour guides for visiting the Irish countryside. Beautiful bar and lounges with attentive bartenders. Spa and pool. Across the road from Killarney National Park and a two minute walk into the town of Killarney and its pubs restaurants and shops. We’ve stayed in great hotels throughout the world and KPH has become a top favorite.

Look no further for your accommodation in Killarney. This beautiful hotel is filled with old world charm and modern day amenities. It is perfectly located making it effortless to walk anywhere in this charming town. The staff are all wonderful. They are eager to assist to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The chief concierge, PC, is knowledgeable, helpful, sincere, funny and professional. He helped us to create the perfect itinerary for our stay with excellent recommendations for activities and dining alike. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Rooms were spacious with a complimentary mini bar containing snacks. The beds were very comfortable - which we appreciated after our long days on foot. We traveled with our 3 teens who loved this hotel as much as we did. This hotel Is the perfect spot in a Killarney. We will be back!

The Killarney Park – Killarney, Ireland REVIEW TITLE: Best in Class Killarney gem in Killarney's #1 hotel OVERALL RATING: Exceptional. The 5 star Killarney Park is exceptional from the common areas to the grounds to the rooms - topped off by a notably amazing staff. REVIEWER BACKGROUND: Fortunate to travel extensively. I have done travel advising for years. We are always looking for that “magic stay” and we found it certainly at The Killarney Park. DATES OF STAY: 4 nights end of May 2023 ROOM/S: We were a group of 13 so we had a chance to see a number of rooms. They are large - beautifully decorated - lovely views - updated - and all seem varied. We were fortunate enough to have been upgraded to the top floor suite, Mangerton which was four rooms with sweeping views. It made us feel so special. COMMON AREAS: The Killarney Park is that rare combination of comfortable and chic in the midst of old world elegance. LOCATION: Just perfect in that right out the door is all of Killarney to explore. Because of its large grounds, the rooms are protected from any noise. The town and adjacent famous Killarney Park are easily accessible on foot - and the hotel also has a small fleet of bikes with baskets to take out. BREAKFAST: Included in our room rate in the stunning main onsite restaurant, Pereguin. Breakfast is off a menu and cooked with a gourmet touch and beautifully presented. Pastries and breads are on the table in a multi-tier “afternoon tea” sort of tray. From simple to great Eggs Benedict, it is all there. Lovely breakfast staff. STAFF: I would be remiss not to mention how amazing the staff is. It is clear they are picked for being great people - and then trained so carefully on listening to their clients. Many had amazing senses of humor. HEAD CONCIERGE: The Killarney Park is blessed with a best in class - world level Les Clefs d’Or concierge - Padraig Casey. He is a long term employee and so very good at his position. Many times in planning our trip I needed key “directional” information ….. how do I do this …. in what order should I do that….how do I get there …. the key things that come up when you have not visited a place before. The professionalism was so very evident in 1) immediacy of answers, 2) detail of answers, 3) truly guiding me in how things are best to do. Padraig glows with welcome and has an amazing sense of humor. The polish - the manners - the sense of humor - the promptness - not just a best in class Concierge but a best in class human being. Bravo. OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT: The Killarney Park is no ordinary hotel. In addition to a world level concierge, it is clear the General Manager shapes how wonderful the experience is for the guests. Marcus Treacy was appointed GM in 2021 after a deep international hotel background. The Killarney Park is part of his blood as his parents opened this gem in the nineties and they also own the chic sister hotel, The Ross. When we checked out - both the hotel GM (Marcus) and Concierge (Padraig) came to grab our bags. Amazing and humbling service. DON’T MISS EXPERIENCES: 1). Combination Killarney Jaunting Car Tour & Lake Cruise (by Tangney’s of Killarney). Concierge Padraig Casey was so helpful to me in picking best in class Tangney’s and figuring out the logistics. We booked the combo back to back jaunting (1 hour) and lake cruise (1 hour) tour for 36 Euros per person. JAUNTING: This is a ride in a traditional Killarney horse drawn carriage with bench seating for the guests in the back. We went with Tangney’s of Killarney - the oldest largest firm in Killarney for tours. Laura Tangney runs the company now of this 5th generation - 250 year old - Killarney business. They have 70 horses - as it is important to give them lots of rest days and pick horses only of great temperament. They have 12+ jaunting cars - as it is important to keep a good supply so all are in great condition. We learned most of the other operators in town are one horse operations so Tangney’s has so many business advantages. We got driver Laura Cotter (and gorgeous Gonzo the horse) who is to be commended as she was an expert driver and guide and just delightful - so bravo. The horse jaunting cart picked us up a the front door of the Killarney Park Hotel and we went on a stunning ride through the park to the boat dock in front of Ross Castle. A minute walk and we were at the boat for our lake cruise. LAKE CRUISE: left and returned to the boat dock directly in front of Ross Castle. Tour of lake Lough Lein on covered cabin (good for bad weather) The Lily of Killarney. ROSS CASTLE: as we were right there, we walked into the impressively done (free, no appointment) Exhibition Room of Ross Castle. The castle also does guided tours but those were sold out. The self directed Exhibition Room and walk around the grounds was a happy medium. RETURN: we had a ride arranged right back to the hotel from the parking lot at Ross Castle. Alternately it would have been a one hour walk back. 2). Gin Tasting Class (by the Ross Hotel). What a fun, unexpected thing to do in Killarney. I booked this in advance as I read about it before coming. The chic sister hotel to The Killarney Park is The Ross - just a block down the street. For 30 euros we had 1.5 hours with a mixologist for a private gin tasting class. 3 gins - 3 mixers - 3 profiles - chocolates - and in the hip setting with a fireplace “The Pink Lounge”. Wonderful Operations Manager Roger set up the class for us. Conor O’Brien was our host for the 1.5 hours and was so informative and fun. Again bravo. 3). “Muckross Day”. 10 minutes from The Killarney Park we visited the famous Muckross House & Gardens & Farm & Abbey. Muckross House is a stunning lakefront mansion and grounds - visited by Queen Victoria for its beauty.

Of all of the hotels I have EVER stayed in this tops the list. From the moment we sat down to privately check in and were presented with lemonades and rose punch on a silver platter to the receptionist personally taking us to our room, the staff here is beyond professional, charming, eager to please and genuinely friendly. Robes and slippers provided for our whole family and she even was quick to point out the entirely complimentary snacks and drinks in room fridge. The hotel is gorgeous and maintained excellently. We borrowed the bikes and had a glorious ride around the National park! Concierge eagerly booked us dinner and made fabulous recommendations for live music. Hotel bar has a great vibe with nice peppy jazz music. And breakfast was amazing. When the tray of pastries was brought the waitress specifically said we could ask for more of anything. She poured our coffee and the OJ tasted fresh squeezed. The staff are what make this place truly extraordinary. They should run a training program for everyone in the hospitality industry. They truly made us feel special and were not at all snooty. As a side note this place was so good we were left looking at each other thinking what did we pay? Yes it’s expensive but our family of four stayed in a family room that they offered to bring a roll away in to so that each child had their own bed. In other hotels we have had to book two rooms which becomes more expensive than this family room. Book it. You won’t regret it!

My husband and I stayed at the Killarney Park for 4 nights during our trip to Ireland. It is in a perfect location and was amazing! From the moment you walk in until the day you leave they treat you like royalty! The hotel is beautiful and spotless . We had a deluxe room with a sitting area, a complementary fully stocked refrigerator and the most comfortable bed we ever slept in. Everyone we met was beyond friendly. The registration people who walk you to your room and give you a little tour. The concierge staff who makes sure as you leave for the day that you have water or coffee for the road. The house maids who greet you coming and going with a friendly smile and are sure to turn your bed down each night. Maciek, one of the bar tenders was fun to watch as he prepared cocktails like they were his work of art. Roberto, from the Garden Bar, who each time he saw us would come to us and ask about our day. And then there was Ray, the Garden Bar supervisor who was the first person we talked to in depth as we sat to have a cocktail after checking into our room. He was the best! Even went so far as to make sure we got to see the big rival GAA football championship between Kerry and Mayo. As for the food we only had breakfast each morning but it was amazing with so much to pick from. Our last night in Ireland was spent at a castle. To be quite honest, our Killarney Park stay was actually more elegant and comfortable. We really hated to leave. If you want to be treated like royalty and can’t afford a castle stay…Killarney Park is the place to go!

The facility and service were above special. From the moment we parked we were treated like royalty. We booked 3 rooms about 10 months ago. 6 adults and 2 children (3 and 5). Make sure you get the bed and breakfast package. The rooms are spacious and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Great indoor pool and fitness room. There is a spa but we didn’t take advantage. It’s walking distance from everything in town. We stayed for 4 nights as we drove to various sites each day (Dingle, Ring of Kerry, Skellig Michael, Ross Castle, a sheep sheering farm, etc. We got back everyday around 5 and we’re greeted with smiles. Breakfast is amazing and the service is impeccable.

Wonderful experience at The Killarney Park Hotel for our first visit to Ireland. Many wonderful perks through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and from the hotel staff themselves, which made our short visit super memorable. World-class hospitality and service from everyone, great food and drinks, great massages at their spa, and an unbeatable location near the Killarney National Park.

Every aspect of this hotel was fantastic and luxurious! The daily breakfast was indulgent and included a ton. We got upgraded to a suite and it was amazing, I wanted to move in! Comfortable beds, a very squishy carpet (when do you ever want to step on hotel carpet?!) and a beautiful and bright bathroom with a rain shower head. From the second you step in, everyone you interact with is lovely. If possible, book a spa treatment - the massage was one of the best and the relaxation room came with fruit, smoothies and sorbet after and there was no rush to leave. The whiskey tasting was great. I am not a fan but my husband is and the history kept my attention. The bar snacks were yummy and you could enjoy your pint anywhere on the property - outside or in front of the fire in the library. We took the property's bikes to Killarney National Park for a ride and it was stunning. We also went to Dingle for the day and the whole reception area helped us by giving us maps and tips for making the most of the day. I cannot wait to return - it was truly an incredible stay.
