Nestled along the river, The Kingsley hotel charms many guests with its luxurious and welcoming atmosphere, featuring tastefully decorated and spacious rooms. The service stands out for its friendliness and professionalism, although there are occasional remarks about slow service, especially during breakfast. While the location is praised for its scenic riverside setting, some guests find it slightly inconvenient for city center access. The hotel's amenities, including the spa and pool, are popular among visitors, though some believe there's room for enhancement. Despite the overall cleanliness and comfort, the value proposition is questioned by guests who find the dining overpriced.

Having stayed at the Kingsley before i returned for a 2 night family break which turned into 3 nights as we were enjoying ourselves so much we stayed longer. We stayed in a family room with a river view which was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean with fantastic views of the river.

The service from the staff at the Kingsley is the best i have experienced from any hotel home or abroad. The quality of the breakfast is exceptional with a huge variety available to choose from. Afternoon tea was lovely with fresh sandwiches and cakes and was one of the highlights of our stay.

The pool area is very nice also and the outdoor hydro pool is great for relaxing with views of the river.

I would definitely recommend staying at the Kingsley if you visit cork and I’ll be looking forward to returning myself.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review from your most recent stay with us here at The Kingsley. I am delighted to hear that you were enjoying your stay so much that you decided to extend it. Our family rooms are very spacious and the views overlooking the River Lee are beautiful. I am very happy to hear that the service from the staff were great. They work very hard to try and provide the best service possible and I am glad that they did not disappoint. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful team. The Health Club facilities are a huge asset to the hotel with the outdoor hydro pool overlooking the river with lovely views. Thank you again for a lovely review and I look forward in welcoming you back to The Kingsley soon. Kind Regards Barry Joyce Guest Relations Manager

We stayed in the Kingsley for 3 days in September. The location of the hotel is excellent with direct access to the river Lee and walks in Fitzgerald Park (Lee Fields). the reception staff were excellent especially the girls who spoke Spanish Evelyn and another Argentinian girl could cannot remember her name.T would like to thank them
Room 208 a king room was excellent any cleaning, towels etc were available at all times. no noise from outside and air conditioning if you didnt want to open windows. I would ask for a river view when staying again although we did have partial view.
The leisure facilities very good and have to be booked directly in advance Good size pool and hot hydrotherapy pool outside onto river. We did not use Spa or Gym but looked good.
Dining was restricted due to Covid 19 We had dinner twice and lunch on one day. The food was excellent great service. However there could have been a greater choice and the meals were a bit expensive than expected We didn't have breakfast we don't eat a lot in the mornings so paying 17.50 euros each would have been a waste. Local stores closeby
The bar staff in the residents bar were excellent particularly Ciaran and Jose cant compliment them enough. Cork City is easy to get to on foot about 30 mins or if you walk towards Victoria Cross junction about 150m a frequent supply of buses 208 , 220 probably others 2.90 per journey and same going back.
We would definitely return.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are very lucky with our location. With beautiful views overlooking the River Lee and a stunning walkway through the Lee Fields right beside the hotel. As you mentioned we are only a short walk into the city centre and there is also the option of the bus that runs frequently or a taxi. Its great to hear that the reception team were excellent. Evelyn and Rocio are a great part of the team. I will be sure to pass on your thanks to them. They will be thrilled to hear it. Its also great to hear that the team in the bar were excellent. Ciaran & Jose are also a wonderful part of the team and I will be sure to pass on your compliments to them. I am happy that you enjoyed your room. The river view rooms are lovely too but there is a nice view from 208 looking in towards the city. The leisure facilities are a great addition to the hotel, especially the outdoor hydro pool overlooking the river. I am also very happy that you enjoyed your dining experience in our Fairbanks Restaurant. I will pass on you feedback to Food & Beverage Manager and also to the Head Chef. Thank you again for your wonderful review. I do look forward to welcome you back to the Kingsley soon. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this hotel in making your stay comfortable and pleasant, the location is tremendous on the banks of the River Lee and you can watch the herons fishing while dining in the restaurant! The spa is one of the best I've ever been to and the health club and pool are stunning too. The dining room menu is really good and I highly recommend eating here. Breakfasts are also so varied they cater to all tastes. Underground parking is easy with lift access to to the hotel. Inportantly, great care was given to Covid with masks being worn and hand sanitising available. All in all a memorable stay and I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Cork for easy access to the city centre yet far enough out to enjoy riverside walks in the fresh air!

We have just returned from a four night stay at The Kingsley and sadly would not return.

We were contacted by a warm and professional member of the the reservations team in advance of our stay to confirm our booking and explain the new Covid-19 procedures in place. The staff member explained that there would be no housekeeping during our stay and if we needed anything we could contact reception and it would be left outside our room.

Our rate also didn’t include breakfast. With the combination of no breakfast and no housekeeping, it felt very much like a self catering stay, without the kitchen facilities (there’s no mini bar in the bedrooms, so no ability to store water/medication/snacks). In hindsight, an Airbnb stay would’ve been a better option with the current Covid guidelines for hospitality.

The hotel is around 2.5-3km from the city centre. It’s set on the River Lee and has lovely views at the back. The front of the hotel overlooks a busy road and the walk into the city is not particularly picturesque. Very much the average slightly run down outskirts of a city.

Free parking is ample in the underground garage and also above ground. The reception staff are very friendly and obliging. We received a warm welcome.

The interior of the hotel is relatively modern and smart. It’s a fairly average 4 star business/leisure style hotel, nothing out of the ordinary.

Our room was a standard family room with a double bed and single bed. We were greeted with a very pungent BO smell on entry to our room and immediately opened the window to air the room.

The room was unclean. Carpets and seating were stained, filthy windows and frames, dirty light switches, tables, dusty surfaces, curtains smelt musty, toilet was smelly and sinks were filthy around plug hole. We felt very concerned, considering the current situation with Covid. We bought some anti bac cleaning products from a nearby shop and attempted to sanitise the room.

My husband politely raised the issue with guest relations and was very pleased with the speed and professionalism of their response.

We were offered another room and accepted. The new room was a family plus room (223) and was newly refurbished. It was large, modern and certainly smelt fresher than the previous. The cleanliness was over all much better, but I would still argue that the attention to detail was lacking in areas. I still gave it a clean with anti bac cleaning products to be sure.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant so unfortunately cannot comment on the standard of food and beverages.

Overall, we would not return due to lack of confidence in cleanliness.

Reception/reservations and guest relations teams are truly a credit to the hotel. It’s a shame housekeeping are dropping the ball!

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us here at The Kingsley. During our pre arrival call we inform guest before their arrival date about the current Covid guidelines which currently do not allow us to access the bedroom once the guest has checked in. We also at this stage ask the guests if they wish to add on breakfast to their booking. If guests are disappointed with no housekeeping service during their stay, guests are more than welcome to cancel their reservation free of charge. I double checked your reservation and unfortunately the package that you booked did not have breakfast included in the rate. However it is possible to add this at check in at a discounted rate. We do not have Mini bars/fridges in the rooms but we do have some on request that can be placed in the room for you. We did check this for you while you were here however all were in use at the time. We would always recommend requesting such items at the time of booking to avoid disappointment. We are located about a 25 minute walk into the city centre. there are two walks into the city centre. One on Western Road which is the main road into the city and then there is a lovely walk by the River Lee that brings you through Fitzgerald's park which is beautiful. I am aware that you have spoken to the Front Office Manager Patrycja and myself during your stay and we would like to apologise for room which you were placed in. This had been brought to the attention of the Accommodation Manager and also the General Manager. Further training will be provided to the accommodation team and a closer and more detailed inspection will be made when the room is being inspected. We do take feedback like this very seriously especially with the current situation we all find ourselves in. I am glad that the room you moved to was much more fresh and clean. I am happy that the staff were friendly and helpful throughout your stay. Again I am truly sorry about your experience in the hotel. I do hope that we get the chance to welcome you back to the Kingsley soon. Kindest Regards Barry Joyce Guest Relations Manager.

We stayed here over Christmas and would definitely recommend! We booked a standard double room and it was fabulous, exceptionally clean and extremely spacious. Breakfast is good here also however I would recommend sticking with the Buffett as the food cooked from the menu wasn’t great and takes awhile even though we went at a quiet time! (7.45am) The facilities in the health club are excellent we used them all! Indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, indoor pool, steam room, etc. We also paid the €25 each for thermal suite access which I wouldn’t recommend as great value for money as all it was is 3 extra steam rooms and 2 tropical showers. Also check breakfast is included with the room as our room was €185 for one night but we ended up having to pay an extra €25 for breakfast on arrival.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback about your recent stay at The Kingsley Hotel. I am very happy to read that you found the room to be spacious and clean. I am sorry to hear that you waited some time for the breakfast from our a la carte menu. These items are prepared fresh in the kitchen and will take longer than already prepared food. I am happy however that you enjoyed the extensive buffet which we have on offer. It is great to read that you enjoyed the Health Club and its offerings. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the thermal suite experience. The thermal suite includes the Laconium, Aromatherapy steam baths, Finnish sauna, Turkish Bath, Chrompotherapty Room and Heated Loungers along with a tropical, ice and cool mist showers. I do decide to stay with us in the future we are currently running an offer on our website which offer complimentary breakfast for all of our reservations. I hope we will be able to welcome you back to the Hotel in the not so distant future. Kind regards, Patrycja Sadowska Front Office Manager

I recently had a lovely relaxing stay in the Kingsley with friends.
I began my trip with a spa treatment which was so well organised with the new safety measures in place. All of the safety measures made me feel very comfortable and didn't impact on my experience. I was made so relaxed, can't wait for my next treatment.
Staying in the hotel, my check in was quick and easy greated by a lovely woman at the front desk who booked me in for my breakfast and leasure facilities there and then so that my trip was planned and I could relax.
My room was fab! Beautiful views of the river, very comfortable and so clean.
Dinner and drinks were served in the evening. Me and my friends couldn't fault the service. Very attentive, as it was all table service, we were never waiting for a drink or trying to find a server. The spacing between tables was perfect and we were encouraged to relax and enjoy our surroundings.
Food was beautiful, I've eaten a few times in the Kingsley and it never disappoints.
The pool the next day was very well organised. Only 4 were allowed in the outdoor pool and the lifeguard was very good and ensuring that everyone had their chance in the outdoor pool for the same amount of time.
My friends and I had a fab time altogether in the Kingsley and are looking forward to a return visit.

My partner got me the stay at the Kingsley for my birthday for the bank holiday weekend. We arrived on the Friday to cork and we had planned on going to the beach but as the weather was so bad we decided to go to the hotel and ask if we could have food there and wait till 3pm to check in as we had drove for a long time and we wanted to relax.

My partner went up to the front desk and the lady told us our room was ready for us so it meant we were able to go into the room and relax until the rain had passed over. As I work in the event industry I had spoke to the GM Fergal prior to our stay he made sure this birthday visit was so special for both me and my partner as we arrived into a fabulous room with an amazing view of the river Lee and and absolutely stunning bathroom with a bath and separate shower the room overall was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable we had such a good sleep.

On arrival into the room the staff and management had organised a lovely birthday plate for me with little deserts on it prepared by Sharon which was so delicious.

Due to the current pandemic with prebooking and everything else we decided we would eat dinner in the Fairbanks downstairs on two out of three nights and it was honestly so tasty the service was amazing two lovely ladies Lucy and Nikita looked after us on the Friday night I cannot remember the ladies name on the Sunday night the presentation of the food really made it and they all tasted delicious.

The health club and spa facilities were top notch the changing rooms were extremely clean and the pool area was spotless. The hydro pool was amazing and the views from it were stunning.

Overall our stay at the Kingsley was like a dream this was my first hotel stay in Ireland in some times as I have been working in the uk right up until the beginning on the pandemic I came home in March. Working in the hospitality industry is a struggle right now and it’s the same for me as an event manager. But having treats like this and a wonderful stay in the Kingsley creates some hope for a new normal of hotel stays.

Thanks so much to Fergal and his team we will definitely be back to stay in the Kingsley very soon.

Regards

I stayed in the Kingsley on Saturday night with 2 friends, we had a break away up the country booked which we had to cancel as we couldnt leave the county.
We got a fantastic dinner B&B deal in the Kingsley instead.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. The protections in place for Covid were spot on, loads of room between tables in the bar & restaurant, staff wearing masks and cleaning thoroughly in between sittings, and table service in the bar.
Alex in the bar was excellent and Edel in the restaurant looked after us so well over dinner, and even came over to say hello again at breakfast!
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Couldnt fault one single thing and would very highly recommend.

A brilliant trip with our Dad which was made perfect by our stay at The Kingsley Hotel.

The hotel is in an exquisite location, overlooking the banks of The River Lee and is beautifully presented, with soft lighting and crystal chandeliers and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We received a very friendly, excellent customer service from the helpful staff at Reception, Food and Beverages Team, and the Porters.

Emily on Reception was a brilliant ambassador for The Kingsley Hotel on our arrival. She explained everything in such a warm, welcoming and friendly way and very willing to please with everything. We even had a fridge in two of our three bedrooms, thank you!

Precious, Olivera, Niamh, Jack, Sean, Natasha and Kevin - to name but a few who made our restaurant experience very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food is excellent both at breakfast and dinner - especially the fresh fruit smoothies at breakfast! Pre-dinner drinks on the outside verandah restaurant overlooking the River Lee was fabulous, especially as we had the benefit of brilliant weather.

Our bedrooms were well maintained and bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries, large white fluffy towels and very comfortable beds. Air conditioning was a great plus.

We would highly recommend this lovely hotel in Cork for exploring the city and lovely surrounding countryside, beaches and historical places of interest.

Check in was fast and very friendly. My room was spotless and very comfortable. A tablet was in the room which allowed you to reserve dinner/request towels/extra tea coffee etc. My tablet was not charged when I arrived and appeared to be in an error setting for bit but once charged worked perfectly.

Nice selection of teas available in room along with water, robes and towels. Paper cups were provide (I assume given Covid restrictions). Mine tended to leak so doubled them up.

Dinner was lovely overlooking the river and the lady serving was so kind and helpful. Nice menu and good wine selection.

Despite booking room only a delicious free breakfast was offered on both mornings. Lovely selection and such attention to detail. For example eggs bendict was served with proper home cooked ham rather than thin sliced prepacked ham that is often seen elsewhere.

Spa staff were lovely and my treatment was great. I would suggest getting more heavy weight plastic ppe aprons as the noise staff moved was loud. Maybe get the ones that you can tie at the back. Also the spa music is relaxing until Relax, don't do it plays. Spa music should not have lyrics if you want your clients to relax. Afternoon tea was incredible. Lovely china and linen.

I am really sorry. I don't know the answer to this. But the hotel patio area which travels along the beautiful river Lee, is a truly gorgeous (and open to public) area to have an afternoon drink and view the historic other side of the river

Sorry, I do not understand the question, do you mean BEDS and not DEBS? The hotel is large and certainly has in excess of 60 beds if this is what you are asking.
