We are staying in this hotel for 2 nights this weekend. We are 2 adults, a toddler and a baby. We got very good value for this hotel for a weekend stay. The hotel is really nice on arrival, a lovel lobby and very helpful reception staff. The hotel has really good measures for covid in place. There are plenty of hand sanitizers, perspex screens and signage to remind people and focus them. I was apprehensive about going away during these times but I was very happy with the measures. We wore our masks at all times between our room and outside the hotel (except when we sat in the restaurant). I was glad to see signs reminding people to wear them as not every one was. Our room is a family room and they even provided a second cot for us as my toddler wouldn't settle in the bed. For obvious reasons they aren't cleaning the rooms daily, but they will upon request and we could request anything else needed. We got fresh towels, bins changed, water and tea the next day immediately after we asked. It was a really good service.
The covid measures in place for dining are super. I was shocked at how advanced technology has become in the last 6 months and how much hotels have had to adapt. So I must say well done on such innovative ideas and ways to adjust. Really need an acknowledgement I think. You scan a barcode on your phone and all the available facilities pop up on a webpage. We could see all the menus, order food online from our room to the restaurant and we got a notification email when it was ready, and we went down and collected it for the room. Ww booked our breakfast and dinner times for the restaurant on this webpage also. Very easy to navigate and very manageable and hassle free to book and browse.
The food for breakfast was good, it's table service and we got everything we asked for.
We had dinner in out room one night, very prompt service, the burger is amazing.
The second night we had dinner in the restaurant, we had an issue with the service but I have to say they were really really accommodating at sorting it out, and really made up to us. The restaurant supervisor went above and beyond to rectify same. So must be commended.
I am surprised that there is no wine list.
Over all we are very happy with our stay, the hotel is making a huge effort in covid times.
And I look forward to returning very soon.
Thanks for a lively stay.

I stayed here with my family of 2 adults and 2 kids last week for 3 nights.
Check in was quick and easy. You could see from just the lobby area that the staff are sticking to all covid restrictions. There was appropriate signage throughout the hotel and sanitizer provided almost in every corner.
The room was very nice and beds we're comfortable.
We booked for dinner in the bar the first night we stayed, service was quick and the food was delicious.
As we had Fota passes included in our rate we wanted to have breakfast before going, we had Fota booked for 9am and only time slot for breakfast left was 10am. Understandable as I was late booking in, but because we could not sit and have breakfast as time didn't suit, I spoke with Lorna on the desk and she arranged for there to be continental breakfast ready for us to take for our journey to Fota.

Our last evening staying in the hotel we returned back from town at 8pm. I realized I had forgotten to ask for fresh towels in the morning so I rang to reception to ask for extras. I spoke with Sarah on the phone and within minutes we had towels and extra toiletries to our room.

Our stay was pleasant throughout and I just want to thank all the staff for helping with all queries we had and giving us a lovely staycation even in these tough times, I will he returning again!

Such welcoming staff upon arrival. Reception staff were able to help and answer our questions regarding sightseeing and tours around Cork. Dinner (goujons) and breakfast (traditional irish) were yummy with quick service. We stayed in room 410 and we loved our spacious room and lovely view. The location is right on the edge of the city centre so it's perfect for travelling about. Regulations were all being followed regarding sanitisation and staff wearing masks/visors - it's nice to be able to stay in a hotel and feel safe given the current circumstances.

We did not use the spa as we were only there for one night.

The location was great, it was close to Fota and to the city. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant.
The Wifi signal in our room wasn't great we couldn't stay connected and couldn't use the guest services webpage due to this.
We didn't have any room cleaning during the stay, there were no clean towels replaced, or our bins weren't emptied during our two night stay, even though there were cleaning staff on our floor, they were young and they seemed to be doing more messing and playing around the hallways than cleaning.
The hand soap dispenser and the shower gel dispenser were almost empty! This is not ideal especially in the middle of a pandemic when handwashing is vital. The toilet seat was also broken in our room and the door to the bathroom wasn't working properly.
The beds were clean and comfortable.
We dined in the hotel on the first night. The steak was very over done when it was requested medium rare and the chicken curry was cold and had very little meat in it. We had two starters and two mains and a kids meal and a drink each, this cost over 80e and to me the quality didn't reflect the price.
The breakfast the next morning was cold, the tea was cold and the coffee was weak.
We dined in Cork city the following night.
We used the swimming pool which was excellent, so clean but they didn't have a kids pool. It is up a very steep hill beside the hotel so it would be advised to drive to there.
It was 15e for a family pass and we got fresh towels at reception to use.
Overall we were dissapointed as had heard such great reviews about this hotel.

Dear Margaret D, I would like to start by thanking you for the time spent on writing a review for our property, I am sorry to read that your experience did not live up to your desired expectations. The Clayton Hotel Silver Springs management team really appreciates all feed back from our guests and we really find it helpful to take on board real time customer opinions regarding their stay. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. We stayed in the Clayton Silver Springs at the beginning of July.
Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. We had a suite, it was comfortable and clean, although the wifi signal in the room was very poor, you could just get a signal beside the door.
Breakfast was served as per the new arrangements which were working well, We ate in the bar one night and the food was good.
You can use the swimming pool in the centre located behind the hotel, €15 for a family, it’s a very deep pool and not really suitable for younger children, though there is an enclosed playground for children.
Overall a good stay and would recommend it.

We stayed here in July for one night. The service from the moment we checked in was shocking. We were sent an email prior to arrival encouraging “Online Checkin”, we did this before we arrived but I do not understand the benefit of it. We still had to go to the checkin desk, give names, sign a form and then got our room key. Absolutely nothing different from a regular checkin. The “manager” on the reception desk who checked us in was unfriendly. We then booked dinner for that evening and breakfast for the following morning. When we came down for dinner at 6PM the bar was completely empty so we gave our room number and asked for a table by the window, but were told it was not possible as it was booked. We then took the only table that was apparently available. The man who seated us was not wearing any sort of PPE no mask, no visor, nothing. A few minutes later a family strolled into the bar and I could clearly hear them telling the waiter that they had rang 10 minutes ago to book a table, and surprise surprise they were seated at a window despite us being told they were all booked. So remind me again on how we can book a window seat? Also, bare in mind we were actually staying in the hotel this family had just come for dinner. Guests of the hotel should be treated better than this. Eventually after being reminded by other staff the waiter put on a mask. I cannot commend the service enough by one of the staff members called Jessica she was amazing. The bar got very busy very quickly and with only 3 staff serving in total she ran rings around the other 2. She was fantastic.

The following morning despite being told that we had to book a time for breakfast we were left waiting at least 30 minutes to be seated even though we came down exactly on time. Surely the point in booking a time for breakfast is to control the amount of people in the dining room at one time. Again only 3 staff serving during a very busy breakfast service and Jessica being one of them was amazing trying to seat people and clean up as quickly as possible. For dinner service the hotel use both the bar and the dining room but for breakfast only the dining room is used. There was long queues both while we were eating breakfast and while we left as all the tables were full. I don’t understand why the bar wasn’t used for extra seating.

One piece of advice would be to increase the staff for both dinner and breakfast. Surely you know how many guests you have booked in and you know if it’s going to be busy or not.

I must say the room was lovely and clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a nice view of the river. It was the service that let down the experience.

Dear JayQ16, Thank you for taking your time to share what I believe is a valuable feedback for us. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. As I wasn't aware of any issues during your stay I would like to welcome an opportunity of discussing your food and beverage related experience in greater detail. Therefore, please feel free to contact me directly. We have found ourselves in unprecedented times where our "normal" way of operating has disappeared over night and we had to adjust to a new normal where our primary goal is our guest and staff well being. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short for which I would like to apologize sincerely. I do hope that we will have an opportunity to regain your trust in Clayton Hotel Silver Springs as that is not the standard or the quality our team is trained to deliver here. We, family of 5, kids are 15yrs, 12 yrs & 8yrs, are just back from a very enjoyable weekend at this hotel. Solveiga was fantastic and hugely patient when I was booking as there was alot of over and back with dates. I had also asked her to put me on the cancellation list for the family suite. Solveiga was on the ball, ringing me back two days before our arrival date to say the family suite was available and did we want to upgrade, I was over the moon as there was 5 of us so the extra room was badly needed. Thank you Solveiga!! On arriving, it was a very easy process checking in. Grace was just so warm, welcoming and funny. The best mix to have at the front desk! I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. Nothing was too much for her. Thank you Grace!! Covid guidelines were followed perfectly, social distancing was maintained, hand sanitiser throughout the hotel. The Tivoli Suite was spotless and so comfortable, it is an amazing suite for a family of 5, highly recommend it 👌 We had pre booked our breakfasts and dinners as required and this too ran smoothly, Sarah in the restaurant was so kind and bubbly, thank you Sarah for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.
The added bonus is the wild rabbits living in the woodland on the hotel grounds, they hop and play just on the little hill above the 'welcome' shrub sign outside the main entrance 😊 All the staff are kind and pleasant. During these strange times, they are working, meeting different people from different areas, they are facing risks everyday but they don't let it sway them. The staff were kind and friendly throughout the weekend. I really do appreciate that and applaud them for their professionalism. Thank you Clayton Hotel Silver Springs for such a wonderful 2 night staycation!! Niamh & family x

Nice view from 6th floor room, quiet floor we were told but we were listening to either heating pumps or air conditioning pumps firing up all night. not sure if this is because we were on the end of the corridor by emergency exit or if is all of the 6th floor can hear it.
On hanging up items in the wardrobe we found a opened bottle of wine that housekeeping obviously missed, along with the dust across the tv unit and unit it was sitting on i would say the room was not checked over before letting. Reception were not at all interested in either issues, although when posting it on twitter and mistakenly tagging the clayton cork they immediately pm to speak to me. Bad management in silver springs as not only did they ignore it but had no interest.
breakfast starts at 8am sunday so we went at 8.10, very good choice, lots tables and space, food in the hot plates was not hot, i couldnt eat mine,so i ordered soft boiled eggs, they were hard as rocks!
For the price i would stay again but i would not give this hotel 4 stars, needs a few managers to be around and sort out the simple issues here.
I didnt use the leisure centre but did not realise it was a chargable one, €10 each seems steep if you are charging a family of 2 ad 2 children €15

We were a family of 4 with a 1 and a 2 year old staying in Cork for 5 days to visit family. From the point of making the reservation through Sandra who fantastically suggested the interconnecting family rooms to the point of checking out I cannot say enough about how brilliant all the staff are. They could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable from the simple things like the staff member answering some random questions from my 2 year old as he put up the cot in the room to the staff member in the restauraunt going along with the story that the spaghetti bolognese was the same Thomas the Tank pasta we have in Wales. We had a number of meals in the hotel and food was of a very high standard in very comfortable surroundings. We could not fault the breakfast with a great selection for both the adults and the kids. It also allowed us to try some new foods they wouldn't normally have in the weekly shop with our kids. We had an issue with other kids in the corridor making noise late one evening but a simple call to reception and it was promptly resolved. All in all a fantastic hotel for families and we will hopefully be there again next new year for our christmas trip to Cork.

This hotel was both a hit and a miss from us. Upon entering the hotel, we were very pleased with it's appearance and got a deluxe double room on the 6th floor with a lovely view of the river Lee. The bed was very comfortable with fluffy pillows.
Location wise, it is perfect as it is situated a short distance to the city.
We opted for a package which included 2 nights B&B with one evening meal. We decided  to have the evening meal on the first night. On this night, they were particularly busy and looked under staffed. When we were seated, the menu wasn't explained to us in terms of what the package included for the evening meal. So we just got a main course which were both lovely. We were just disappointed with the lack of service, there was no element of "is everything ok for you" or "can I get you anything else" & we weren't offered a dessert menu after the food - it was literally just taken off the table.
On the first morning, breakfast was tasty and very prompt even though it was very busy. On the second morning, our breakfast came out very late and no apologies were made either. (I know mix-ups happen, it was just unfortunate for us).
Overall we just feel a little disappointed for our stay as we had such high expectations.
