The weather was a bit dire but it didn't dampen our weekend away! Blarney Wooden Mills Hotel where to start? We got a great deal for the two nights B&B 😍
•The room was so beautiful, clean and comfortable. The bathroom clean and plenty of towels
•The little ones enjoyed a bath the first night they didn't want to get out, the shower was great, plenty of pressure not like other hotels where I struggled to rinse suds out of my hair. Lovely luxury shampoo and shower gel.
• Reception staff were top tier, especially Rose who my kids took a shine to. Cleaning ladies were so professional and polite, getting new sheets for the bed wasn't an issue at all.
•We enjoyed our trip to the castle and gardens, definitely worth a look, hopefully blessed with better weather than us. Unfortunately not much otherwise to do unless going into Cork city or further, the hotel provided plenty of leaflets for ideas.
• First evening we had dinner at Christy's. The staff were lovely and very patient with my little boy who is autistic. The kids enjoyed their beef stew, I really enjoyed my seafood chowder and lamb shank, I highly recommend going there.
•Second evening the weather was worse and my little guy was having an off day so we ordered in Chinese from the Lantern house restaurant to our room. The receptionist was great for providing plates, cutlery and napkins to us.
•Breakfast both mornings were fantastic! Great choice between cold buffet and hot food menu. I had spinach, mushroom omelette first morning, full irish second both absolutely delicious.
•My only issue was that it was a shame that the smart TV wasn't connected to the WiFi, we asked reception and they said owners didn't want them connected because people could run up bills for downloading. The kids wanted to watch netflix before bed and ended up watching it off our phones, I do think they could make exception by having the connection but having restriction still there, like leaving it to the guest to use their own personal logins to watch netflix/YouTube etc. we really could have done with it on my boy's bad day to relax him.
Nonetheless will return for sure but armed with a laptop to entertain the little guy. Thank you again for such a pleasant stay! ♥️

Decent hotel. Bathrooms need updates and breakfast was lacking. Service at breakfast was not great and there needs to be better attention to detail. The bedrooms need a good dusting. Great that there is water in the room and beds are comfortable and they provide fans for warmer evenings.

Unfortunately we were discriminated against for having a child. We booked a suite as a honeymoon treat for ourselves (which was costly enough I might add) and ended up bringing our 10 month old baby. He s a very quite baby who is not yet crawling but we were told we could not stay in the suite because we had a baby and he might damage the room. To be honest it's utterly disgraceful to be treated in this way for having a child. We tried to book another hotel but they were all booked up. In this day and age when we are all very aware of discrimination how does this hotwl get away with this. Next the elderly won't be allowed to stay in rooms with bath tubs incase they fall also an absurd generalisation. Thanks for ruining our honeymoon Blarney Mills.

Wonderful hotel to stay at for our one night in Blarney. They have everything you need right in the hotel including a coffee shop, restaurant, and bar. The staff was very friendly and gave us advice for our time in Dublin. They also accommodated a last minute room change for us with no issue. It was also one of the few hotels we stayed at with ice readily available which was a pleasant surprise.

receptionist anything but pleasant and friendly when checking in. The Room was okay apart from no hand soap in the bathroom, and the wall light over the bed not working. Rang down to Receptionist and she said she would get someone up with the Soap. Just after that I had to ring down again as the wall light over the bed was not working and she said she would get someone up to have a look at it. When I asked her how long could I expect to wait for this person she said 5 minutes (with an attitude). I waited for well over 20/25 minutes and no sign. At this stage I left the room to go out but when we returned later that evening the light was still not fixed. The soap was delivered by a staff member and she said that hand soap was like gold dust as it was so scarse due to Brexit and only one little soap pat per room irrespective of the amount of guests in the room. have stayed at the BWM Hotel over the past 20/25 years and never had a problem till now. The Breakfast was good as always no problem there. On the expensive side with little or no service. Very disappointing and won't be back.

The hotel’s location is poor - it is near the Blarney castle but there’s nothing else around. Reception and bar staff were very kind, but the breakfast experience was very poor. Even though we arrived at the breakfast area more than an hour before the end of breakfast, most buffet items were already missing. We were hoping that the staff is just busy and that they would refill the buffet plates shortly, but for over an hour nobody bothered to do that. Most staff members at the breakfast area seemed indifferent and impatient. Having only the cooked eggs to eat with almost nothing on the buffet - it was a poor experience.

The Blarney Woolen mill is more than just a hotel , its an experience! The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is amazing. Set in a refurbished woolen mill from 1823, it has its own food court, pub and shopping mall. Its also located just a short 4 minute walk from Blarney castle so theres always something to do or see! The room which was an executive suite was huge and very well appointed. The bathroom was massive with a beautiful soaking tub that could easily fit two people. The food court area had a great selection for lunch or just a really good coffee, with an outdoor seating area which made for great people watching. The pub was cozy and had a solid menu with good choices of familar favorites that hit the spot.
My one and only criticism would be that the room was very warm and the fan that was in the room provided literally no circulation of air. The blades of the fan were spinning but they were not blowing any air whatsoever. The staff was incredibly helpful though and provied us with a dehumidifier which did help circulate the air and cool the room down immensley.
Beside that one small issue I would happily stay there again and hopefully for more than just one night.

Blarney review.

Old hotel but really lovely. Spotless clean, hats off to house keeping. Staff are friendly and very helpful especially Carmel at reception, nothing we asked was too much trouble and there was 9 of us! One of the rooms was a bit small for two adults and a toddler but that was our own fault when booking, not the hotels fault. Carmel moved us straight away and housekeeping made sure the room we moved to was spotless. Every staff member had a face mask on at all times, which we havent seen in other hotels that we've stayed in and we travel a lot. Covid-19 restrictions are 100% followed from what we witnessed. We all had dinner at Christys bar, portions are massive. Food is lovely. Again very clean and restrictions followed. Will definitely return

Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely seating area where we could enjoy snacks and a drink. Staff were all very attentive and pleasant- we were made very welcome. The food in the bar and the breakfast room was good value - all very fresh and tasty, with plenty of options. There was plenty of car parking space and the shopping areas were stunning. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want something a little bit different: it was all quite "special" and yet we didn't feel it was overpriced.

Sorry I can’t remember if hair dryers are provided, but bring your international adapter as many hotels are wired for 220, just play it safe.

I don’t agree with the comments that Blarney isn’t a good base to see cork city. It is a short bus ride for cork city it’s 9km 6 miles . A 13 min taxi ride @ €10 . But is I’m not sure but I think €3/4 . It’s a secure ,safe quite area for a good night s rest .
