While travelling for essential reasons, we felt as though we were on a faraway holiday in the hotel. Fantastic personal service from the moment you hit the doorstep. Beautiful room and lounges, spotlessly clean with all the essentials and nice and quiet. Lovely food and the breakfast in particular was so fresh and with plenty choice, you couldn't go hungry. The hotel is a stone's throw from Blarney castle and is in a great location to go exploring Cork county or city as it's easy to get in and out without hitting city traffic.
Ian, Úna, Mo and all the team really have made us feel so welcome and we would be delighted to come back again

Whilst because of the age of the building, and the lack of a lift, it may not be to everyone's taste, we really enjoyed our stay in this well run privately owned hotel. The Dinner Menu was pleasantly varied and good value; as was the Breakfast menu.
We had our Dinner in the main dining room which was buzzing and appeared to have quite a lot of local folk in it enjoying themselves - Great service in the dining room.
Please be aware that the portion sizes may well be Large.
We had several conversations with Ian Forrest, the hotel's owner who could not have been more friendly and helpful.

We called here on spec on Thursday last after a walk in Blarney Castle. I have never been here to eat before. We called in and were greeted and seated upon arrival with a lovely table by the fire. There were 4 of us in total. We got our drinks quickly and upon recommendation of the lady serving us went for 2 monkfish and 2 turkey and ham. The food here was really good. The monkfish was served with a lovely hint of lemon with basil sauce and sunblushed tomatoes and sautéed potatoes. The turkey and ham was delicious and served with a tasty stuffing. The staff here are very attentive and friendly and will return again for sure. There is a good selection of wines on offer and also the men loved the pints. It seems like a popular spot with the locals as there were a lot of people eating here. I will recommend this place to others.

Initially spoke to Ian who is the owner and had to change my booking few times but nothing was a problem. Had my elderly dad with me, his birthday treat. When we arrived we were greeted by Kathleen who simply couldn’t do enough for us. Paul brought our bags up to our rooms for us. Had two rooms booked . Single and family room. Beautiful rooms and beds were so comfortable Ended up eating in the hotel both nights - very good quality food. Breakfast was gorgeous . This hotel has a very homely atmosphere and all staff were so friendly, chatty and welcoming. Blarney is a lovely village, everything within walking distance, castle, wooden mills and nice walls.

Just spent the last 5 days there and had a fantastic and most relaxing stay. It oozes elegance and sophistication but with a lightness of touch and an air of fun. Ian and Una the owners gave us the warmest of welcomes and were so very attentive throughout our stay. Our room was just brilliant and the bed so comfy. Everything has been so well thought out. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel was outstanding, as was the quality of bed linen and towels. The food is great too, always piping hot and lots of it. The breakfast menu was a particular favourite. The staff worked tirelessly to make sure we had a wonderful experience and they are so well trained. Special thanks to Moazzam who was so very kind and welcoming. We just cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely be back again. Cathy & Damien

Our family agreed this was our favorite stay of our trip. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. You really feel like you're staying at a small family b and b. They assisted us with our baggage as well as parking (being American and pulling into the tiny lots can be intimidating) The breakfast was so delicious and the hotel is located directly across from the castle. The rooms are clean and sweetly decorated. We drove into Cork City twice while were there but you could easily take a car if you're not renting. Highly recommend!!

I cannot thank Una and Ian enough for making our stay at Blarney Castle Hotel this past June, 2022 so wonderful. It began months before we actually arrived with Una bending over backwards to make sure we had three rooms. When we arrived Ian saw us comfortably settled into lovely, cozy rooms. We woke to fabulous breakfasts of freshly baked scones, fruit, and the traditional Irish breakfasts.

This place was hopping. It is a favorite place for locals, even as visitors from all over the world come in. My family and I enjoyed one of the best meals I've ever had on our last evening at the hotel. And the next morning, Ian brought his morning staff in early to accommodate our having to leave for Cork to meet our private tour of the Ring of Kerry. We departed well fed, rested, and cared for.

If you want a lovely, affordable, friendly experience where you will be treated with total accommodation in mind, Blarney Castle Hotel is it.

We recently hosted a family event at the Castle Hotel and Ian, along with his team, were fantastic. Ian made organising the event so easy, he listened to our needs and went above and beyond our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated, with the loveliest personalised banner, each table had little flags representing the countries of the guest of honour, the food was fresh and delicious (as well as plentiful, I think everyone had seconds!!) John, the chef, introduced himself before service and pulled out all the stops. Ian’s team of servers were one better than the next, friendly, helpful and efficient. For a flawless event in a comfortable, traditional setting you cannot beat The Castle Hotel and the Forrest Family. We had a wonderful, memorable family gathering and cannot thank Ian enough.

When I arrived, I went to park the car but then discovered that there are only 7 parking spaced (one for wheelchair users). There is also free parking in the square between 6pm and 9am so this is where I parked.

There was nobody in reception but, eventually, I was greeted and shown to my room which had the initial appearance of a lighting showroom. Every light was one which included five lights on the wall I was facing ... no need to do this, please save resources.

The room was excellent and comfortable with a great view over the square. The sun shone in brightly in the evening. Food was available in the bar. Breakfast served from 7.30am. WiFi was a little odd but Ok. Everything worked. The young girl offered to carry my case which was nice but unnecessary although some might find the stairs challenging with baggage.

Breakfast was epic .. I ordered porridge and it came with a pot of cream and another of compote. I had the cream and compote on toast and was delicious. Noted most o the other diners were having the salmon while I stuck to the Full Irish.

The owner visited us during breakfast for a brief chat ... very personal.

A very enjoyable night.

Hi there, Many thanks for your enquiry of today. The weather is generally good in the months of May, June, July and August. With regards to crowds this would also be the busier times of the year. I would recommend probably 2 rooms (1) 1 double for yourself and perhaps a (2) twin room for your two adult children both with a bed each. The legal age for consuming alcohol in Ireland is 18 years of age. There is no direct shuttle bus from Cork Airport to Blarney and can be accessible via taxi from airport itself or alternatively getting a shuttle bus from the airport to Cork City and then getting a bus from Cork City to Blarney. The price of a taxi from Cork Airport to Blarney would be 20-25 Euros for 1 way and the bus would be cheaper however not as convenient. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to ask via email. With kind regards Una Forrest
