This is a lovely hotel but still has a bit of work to do to class itself in the same league as other Scottish luxury hotels. Room was lovely with very comfortable bed, Nespresso machine etc. Bathroom not great with shower over bath and a few cracked tiles. Booked the Cairns restaurant and felt slightly misled to be presented with a reduced over-priced menu when we sat down which was not as advertised on the hotel website. We would have booked the Eolas restaurant instead if we had know. Service was ok but again not quite the standard the hotel is aiming for. Good value for a January special break though for B&B.
We had a fabulous weekend here. The room was extremely comfortable, with a lovely large bed and the best hotel shower we've ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it has a really cosy country house feel. The 10-hole golf course was perfect for us as occasional golfers, and excellent value. But the star of the show was the phenomenal food in the Eolas restaurant. Quite exquisite, supported by a lengthy wine list. We would rush back here at a moment's notice!
This place is a gem rooms fantastic food out of this world it has a great atmosphere about it and the staff are fantastic they are a real credit to the hotel we got there on the 22nd and stayed for three nights thought we would eat there the first night but we loved the food we eat there every night
This place is a little gem. It has wonderful warm and welcoming facilities, and a simply amazing menu. However, its chief attraction is the staff - they are courteous, attentive and efficient. They are all locals and they really care about customer service. We will certainly stop here again on all northbound visits to the relatives in Aberdeen. It sets a very high benchmark for excellence in all aspects.
Hotel was amazing, all you could want for a quiet few days away. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal was a bit restricted when your not keen on fish and mushrooms. Overall would recommend.
We stayed at the hotel for our 6th anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The hotel is excellent, the staff were attentive and friendly, and our meal at Eolas restaurant (tasting menu with matched wines) was exceptional. Highly recommended
Brilliant value for money overnight stay. Really classy and brave food in the restaurant led to a memorable meal. All staff were excellent and the hotel is set in lovely location. Only downside was a dodgy shower. We will return.
Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, staff friendly and very helpful, we had dinner, bed and breakfast and the food was delicious, we had a lovely large room with everything we needed and overlooking the gardens
The best hospitality package we have experienced at the best value for money and with top service. We had the best Hogmanay gala dinner ceilidh/ dance with live band and fireworks. The quality of food was superb - fine dining , multiple courses , delivered without compromise. Service was excellent at all times of the day. The paired wine dining experience on the second night of the stay was another 10/10. Overall great experience - we will be back !
An absolutely amazing experience. We went for their Hogmanay package deal which was 2 nights (31st Dec > 2nd January). Great value for money. We loved it so much we will be booking for next year. It included an afternoon tea with Prosecco, a 7 course tasting menu and party with ceilidh/live music for the Bells, big breakfasts both days and a 3 course menu with paired wines on the 1st January. The food was incredible - a huge talent in the kitchen so much so that the chef was asked to come out to the bar so everyone could applaud them. Wow! The scenery was lovely too and the rooms. No complaints at all. We took the junior suite which is in the lodges separate from the hotel and they were great for this type of getaway as there is a small living room, you could put your feet up and relax while watching the tv. The service from the staff was great. Lovely walking routes around the hotel too. Good course and driving range if you fancied. 100% recommend.…
