A lovely b&b / hotel in the heart of Perth. Cleanliness is excellent and the rooms are a good size. Overall great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant and Bar was closed due to renovation but there are lost of choices just minute walk away. Price is comparable with the area. We were in room 15 which is in the front main road and it is a bit noisy. Will hopefully stay again.
When we arrived, we couldn't park outside the hotel due to space limits, but the owner instructed us to park opposite the building. Once we had unpacked, the owner/member of staff served us, and we went into our room. Once we got into the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the size and how comfortable the beds were. We were slightly saddened to learn that the bar was closed when we arrived. Thankfully, there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. If you’re looking for somewhere to rest your head and are not looking for a pristine room, this is the place for you. The only thing we noticed was the wallpaper coming off the wall in one location, but this didn't discourage us, and we will definitely stay there again.
Booked online with limited options so knew it could be dicey - location and facilities were appropriate for price. Staff were attentive and accommodating while we checked in - we found out why shortly thereafter... After having checked in, came back down to the bar 8PM'ish to find the entire hotel deserted - bar locked up and no porter or anything. We knew the restaurant would be closed but wow - a complete ghost town. Bizarre. Other than that, OK for the price. Good WiFi 30Mbs/7Mbs (but hotel was quiet). Decent Breakfast. Mayo OK.
Nice, simple straightforward afternoon tea. (Let's face it its not Clarridges, but is about 25% of the price, probably much less !). Very friendly, helpful hotel owner, who was only to happy to chat about our joint passion (racing).
We had a nice on-night stay at the Grampian. Beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was very good and included in the cost of the room. The only negative was the television only got BBC channel 2 and it did not come on until 7:00 PM. Also, the hotel is not currently serving dinner as there were not getting enough business. It's probably at least a 10-minute walk to get too an area with many restaurants. There are some Indian restaurants closer but my wife doesn't like Indian food so we walked a bit further. Could be an issue if you are not mobile or the weather is bad. I did notice a couple of restaurants that deliver though. All in all, a nice quiet hotel. Proprietor was very nice.
I traveled with my 12 year old daughter and everyone was so so friendly to us both. We were pretty far from home but she felt very at home and relaxed. Fantastic breakfast. Perfect distance from the city
The staff [not many of them] are very polite & helpful and work very hard. They are friendly too. The hotel is old, dated, tired, lacking atmosphere and needs a major renovation. There were very few guests and I would not choose to stay again. The location is brilliant. The room at most is average.
During a recent visit to Perth on my holidays to Scotland, I rang the Grampian Hotel at about 9.30pm and the owner informed me that he had a room available. I explained that I was in Perth and should be with him in about 5 minutes. However, my satnav did not work properly and it took about 12 - 15 minutes to arrive at the Hotel. On arrival the owner had to unlock the front door to let me in and he give out to me about the length of time it took me to get to the Hotel. I apologised for the delay. I could not see anyone about and there were no lights on. The owner informed me that it would cost £50 for B & B and would I be paying by card or cash. I asked him if it was possible to see the room first. He replied by saying "I've had enough of you at this stage. Just get out" So I left the premises and found alternative accommodation. I thought that this was a very rude way of treating his guests. No wonder the Hotel was locked up and there was nobody about!…
We booked this hotel from a gift voucher bought for us. On arrival the activation code was missing. (Ineffect the room was not booked). The decor was tired and room was not cleaned during our 2 night stay. We would not recommend this hotel .
Stayed there one night, everything satisfactory , good food, evening meal and breakfast. Staff really helpful 15 min easy stroll into town. 2 mins from bus station A bit noisy in bedroom as on a main road
