Been going to this hotel restaurant for years and have always had excellent meals. However we were very disappointed this time. Service was not good. Waitress needs training on how to speak with customers as she kept saying, "Ye" when we asked for anything. She also could not remember what was ordered despite apparently writing it down. Starter came with the main meal, no apology. Roast beef was nice but where was the vegetables! One bit of brocoli is not enough for a roast dinner and a smidging of gravy. Meal was dry. Fish was mediocre and again no veg. A spoonful of coleslaw on a lettuce leaf idoes not merit the word salad on the side either. Cheese board was a joke. At the price they charge for these meals they were less than adequate both in quantity and quality. Obviously been in a change in staff. Very very disappointing.

Its a shame ihat i am having to post a negative review on here but as hotel does not respond to emails i don't have any choice.I booked a 4 night stay for my daughter and son-in-law for there honeymoon a spacious mini suite overlooking the river.what the hotel gave them was a hovel of a filthy room see pictures. When my daughter returned to reception to complain and tell them they would not be staying they gave her the keys to the suite they should have had so is the hotel trying to take advantage of a young couple. I paid £440 for the privilege of the hotel to reduce my daughter on the first night of there honeymoon to tears no apology nothing not even the offer of a meal or a drink.Maybe the manager will respond to this complaint now .

We stayed for one night at the Royal George. The staff were really nice and extremely helpful, we had a lovely room overlooking the river and breakfast was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back and definitely recommend it.

We only spent the one night in Perth and at the Royal George. Whilst we were pleased with the space and comfort of our suite (The Chinese Suite) and the (freshly caught!) haggis at breakfast was excellent, the one thing that will stick in our minds was the excellence of the team members we dealt with, without exception. The receptionist (the same young lady on arrival and check out) and the dynamic duo supporting breakfast were all engaging, conversational, helpful and totally professional in a relaxed and slightly informal way - which is just the way I aim to be in my professional life. I like to deal with real people who clearly have the space to be themselves at work and I thought the team were a true credit to the Hotel. Indeed, its this standard of service that means that - if we're lucky enough to get the chance to stay in Perth again in the future - we will look no further than the Royal George. We stayed on the night of 5th October and I'd be grateful if our thanks could be passed onto the team. (OK, maybe I won't forget the haggis either).
