Helpful, friendly staff: Liam was amazing help! Good food at breakfast: Typical buffet, but tasty. Good location: Short ride to the castle. Local restaurants: All thumbs up to McKirdy's Steak House and the Mad Hatter Pub. Both fun and delicious!! Tried Haggis? Yes and it's good!! Hoping to go back!!!

I enjoyed the hotel - it was a very convenient location close to Haymarket station and represented excellent value for money - the breakfast was great and staff service very attentive - we held some meetings in the bar area and upstairs on level one

Good location, quiet room requested and was indeed quiet. Some construction work across the road at present but we stayed over the weekend and were not effected. Lots of places to eat and drink close to the hotel if you don’t want to walk down to the city centre. Also worth mentioning that we traveled by train and using the Haymarket station (stop before Edinburgh Waverley) was perfect as only a 5 minute walk away! Overall a good hotel in a good location with friendly helpful staff!

Pillows are flat rocks with a fabric case. Housekeeping did not service our room the second day, ran out of toilet paper and we had to use yesterday's towels. We only stayed 3 days. Breakfast was buffet style which was a surprise considering Covid concerns. Food was fair.

This hotel had positives and negatives. Positives: good location and lots of parking (parking was £10 a day). Within walking distance of the city centre. Staff on reception were friendly. Room was spacious and clean, bed was large and comfortable. Large supply of toiletries in the bathroom (but no bubble bath, despite there being a bath). Good over bath shower. Large TV and a small fridge in the room. Coffee pod machine in the room. Negatives: our room was not serviced at all during the 3 nights we stayed, we had to ask at reception for coffee and toilet rolls when we ran out. Breakfast was a bit chaotic and the food was average. The aircon in room seemed to have a life of its own - we'd put it on cool to go to sleep and wake up with the room boiling. Fan in the bathroom was temperamental and worked when it felt like it. Lighting was poor in the room, no lights near the wardrobe. Hairdryer didn't work properly. Room was listed as having a sofa bed, but it was more of a sofa chair, certainly not a sofa for sitting on to watch TV etc. Overall the hotel was ok, but just didn't feel anything special. A few small changes would have made a big difference.
