The high ceilings were welcome and the room was smartly designed and made good use of the space. Glad we got the not-smallest room. But, the most amazing part was the people. Every single person was helpful, happy, sincere and fun and genuinely committed to being helpful and you having a good stay. Right in the thick of the royal mile tourist center.
Check-in was seamless and quick. Very nice and helpful staff. We stayed on the 5th floor overlooking hunters square. Room was very quiet. Bed was really comfortable. Hotel is very central and just off the Royal Mile and close to both the Castle and Museum. It was wonderful to see the city coming back to life again. Now is a great time to visit. I really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and intend to come back in the near future. Very enjoyable experience.
Location is ideal it’s just off the Royal Mile and in easy walking distance of Waverley Station. With the Fringe being on there are street performers right outside the front of the hotel which is handy if you haven’t got a show booked or are in between shows. The check in was very quick and the lovely lady on reception made myself and my son feel very welcome sorry I didn’t get your name. Every member of the team we encountered was the same. The rooms whilst being small are clean. You have to remember this is a budget hotel so don’t except the same amenities you would find in other hotels. Breakfast had a good selection and was replenished frequently. The hotel is good value especially with what other hotels are charging during the Fringe. Hence why we stayed here rather than our regular hotel in Edinburgh. Its worth signing up to the hotels reward system as you and any one else in your room gets a complimentary drink voucher on arrival. I would stay here again due to its location and friendly helpful team.…
Excellent location almost on the Royal Mile. Staff were excellent. The room did not have a safe, frig, phone (had to contact the desk via WhatsApp), and had minimal storage. Buffet breakfast, not included in our room rate, was very good and they had gluten free bread for toasting.
We had a delightful tour with Stuart sharing history and the stories expanding history. He is very knowledgeable and also finds the humor in places and people. We were a party of 6 and we all give him 5 stars for an enjoyable experience!
After reading all the positive reviews I was looking forward to our stay. The location is perfect right on the royal mile but that’s where it ends. We had 3 rooms booked, twin and 2 family rooms and the family rooms were a standard room with a fold out bed in the corner. We complained and they moved us too another room that was bigger on level 4 which was good. The hotel is very worn, carpet is dirty and stained, the daily housekeeping is to be desired, they made our bed and left wet towels on our bed, the next day we had to ask them to service it as they had not and it was 4pm, so they gave us clean towels emptied the bins and that was it. The aircon doesn’t work very well and if you open your windows the noise in the outside square is terrible all night. The breakfast was ok and the staff at breakfast were helpful and polite. If you are after location this place is perfect however the accommodation is not cheap and the quality is definitely not there. We would not stay again…
The local bells ring every hour, all day long; the hotel will provide ear plugs ..🤷♀️ Toilets are made for people over 6ft 🤔 legs left dangling!! However, fantastic location - steps from the Royal mile
While the location couldn't be more convenient to the Royal Mile, an easy walk to anything along the mile and around the corner from the National Museum, don't plan on sleeping. The room temps are controlled from desk and if you open a window at all you can expect loud noises, partying, yelling, bottles breaking, sirens throughout the night, disrupting any sleep you might hope to get. The beds are one step up from your college dorm bed. This is not a place for resting worn out from a flight. It was a nominee for the best of low cost hotels in Edinburgh. In other words it's not even the best low cost. It's just a nominee. You can do much better going to new town and walking, Better hotels for better prices. This was booked by a tour group that we paid top $$ for so a huge disappointment.…
I stayed for one night before leaving on a multi day tour. The hotel is lovely and in a perfect location on the Royal Mile. Check in was very quick and staff were very friendly and helpful. Good selection too in the breakfast buffet.
This hotel is in a fabulous location. Easy walking distance to everything. 10 mins from Edinburgh castle. Starbucks and Cafe Nero right around the corner. Buffet breakfast was only £8-9. Small rooms but clean and comfortable.
