This is a first rate hotel in Edinburg. The hotel is beautiful, charming in every way. The staff is courteous and wants to help at all times. We stayed here for the second time and it continues to impress. If you are in Edinburg you would be well served by this first rate place.
I genuinely don't know where to start with this review because we had the most magical stay. This was our 4th stay here because each time we stay, we are made to feel as if we are the only guests there and as if we are royalty! We visited this time because we were getting married (eloping!) And mentioned this during the booking process. We were upgraded instantly to the most incredible suite and each day surprises were left for us such bottles of champagne, chocolates, rose petals etc. I felt as if every member of staff knew why we were visiting and went out of their way to make us feel amazing. Of course, the suite (Walter Scott) was impeccable and classically decorated. It was very clean and furnished to the highest standard. The room service menu was full of wonderful choices and we enjoyed breakfast in our room. The concierge Stuart was a fountain of knowledge and helped us organise ourselves on several occasions. Every member of staff is a true credit to the hotel. Before we had even checked out, we booked our next stay for January 2022! …
We are a family of four who visited Edinburgh for the 1st time! I just want to thank Dale (GM) and his team for a wonderful and unforgettable stay at the Waldorf, we had an amazing time! Food, Service and Concierge = TOP Class!
We stayed here in early July to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Bethany went completely out of her way to resolve some very minor initial issues and to make the stay very memorable for all the right reasons. It was our second time at the hotel and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the fantastic 'Grazing' restaurant and Caley bar on this occasion. I look forward to coming back again.
So, friendly if a little overwhelming welcome. Lots of welcoming emails before arrival - spa, reception, concierge - not sure entirely necessary though. Efficient check-in although no upgrade available. Hotel room very average, small, even for a city centre hotel. Room clean and tidy but furniture tired. Bars ok, although expensive (trading on 5*), breakfast table service, not the usual Hilton buffet and super expensive (again abusing 5* status). Warm welcome at the spa and nice pool, again clean and tidy, no complaints. Overall decent enough hotel, but really nothing special for the money they command for the no doubt hard earned 5*s. I would suggest saving a little money and trading down a star or too. Should add, the night we stayed there was a wedding that looked to have got a little out of hand which meant anyone looking for a quiet, romantic weekend was subject to a rude awakening!…
Just spent 3 lovely nights at the Waldorf Edinburgh this hotel never Disappoints we came for our sons wedding after spending two nights at the wedding venue we booked 3 nights at the Waldorf Edinburgh to be closer to the city every member of staff we came across were so polite and careing made us feel so special love this hotel whenever we stay here we never want to leave such a special hotel would always recommend
The afternoon tea was delicious with lots of tea options and Elena was a great server that made it even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was very charming also in the old railway station. Definitely recommend.
Went to Afternoon Tea. Fantastic! Better than the Balmoral &’Gemma, my server was incredibly personable, professional and attentive. The sandwiches were great and the scones among the best I’ve ever had. The pastries were so creative and tasty. The setting was gorgeous & relaxing. Go!!
An excellent hotel well located in the city centre. The hotel benefits from valet parking - a very nice gentleman gives you that first feeling of Scottish hospitality on arrival. Rooms are well appointed and breakfast is excellent. A small issue with the bill on check out but this was well resolved by Frank on the front desk in the end. Will return.
great room. Two new fitness room and a pool. we haven't try the spa. The breakfast is very good with a great service. every member of the staff is there for you. the location is perfect for visiting Edinburgh.
