Stayed here for an overnight while visiting family in Dundee to avoid long drive there and home on same day. The rooms are recently refurbished and are clean and modern with very comfy beds. The room had everything required for an overnight stay and were great value at £30 per room per night. This premier inn has the added benefit of being right beside the cinema and also has a KFC, McDonalds and Nando's within a minutes walk an added bonus if you are travelling with children.

I have sung the praises of this hotel for long time and wouldn’t go elsewhere but little things need looked at.
Headboard on bed (room 114) needed cleaned - done sort of fluid stain on it.
Smoking at the front door is bogging ... how about a smoking area in a different corner ? Cigarette ends all over the outside entrance and a face full of passive smoking is disgusting .
As always staff helpful and cheery and doing a great job .

We booked a family room to sleep 4. When we arrived we were concerned at the fast food outlets and the noise. However, apart from hearing a few cars revving their engines around 11pm, after that it was all quiet. As per usual the room was spotless and the bed was amazing. The staff were welcoming. There was no breakfast option but we didn’t mind. As we were leaving I dropped my daughter’s jacket in the hall and didn’t realise until we were home. I contacted the hotel and emailed them Royal Mail postage labels and I arranged for it to be collected. The staff very kindly packaged up the jacket, attached the labels and returned it to me. I am extremely grateful for their help with this. This was our third stay at a Premier Inn this year. Cannot fault the value for money or the attentive staff. My only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning although a fan was already in the room.

Stayed at this hotel for a week, our first room was facing the roundabout and was very very noisy with cars revving the engines all night and drunk people passing by so we had to shut the windows, unfortunately this made the room extremely warm as there is also no air conditions and no fan in every room. We complained at the reception and Shaun the new hotel manager went out his way to help us! Offered us a choice of rooms which we could choose and we took one facing the carpark which was quieter and let us keep the window open all night, it also had a fan which made the heat much better! Shaun checked on us every day the rest of our trip making sure we were happy.

There was also a room party in the next room that was swiftly dealt with within 30 minutes of making a complaint.

All in all, a good hotel with lots of potential thanks to new management making changes but definitely expect noisy roads, drunk people and really warm rooms (26⁰C)

We’ve stayed at many Premier Inns through the UK in recent years as we believe they represent excellent value for money and are always clean and comfortable. However I regret to say that this Premier Inn was the exception as the room was horribly hot at night (despite the weather being cool) plus it’s location being situated next to a grotty restaurant and opposite two very busy drive through fast food outlets KFC & McDonalds, was far from ideal. In short the Dundee North Premier Inn was a disappointment not not to this companies usual high standards.

This is such a handy location, it is directly on the main A90 road North/South though visitors will not hear the traffic, however they may hear the traffic around the hotel that is utilising the units within the grounds that the hotel is located in. This is more of an issue at the front rather than the rear of the hotel (in my experience) though I have never found it to be a massive issue. We enjoyed a good night at the Premier Inn, we utilised an accessible room, had a great night sleep and a comfortable stay in this good sized room. Was really impressed with the lovely reception staff, particularly the young female working at 4.30pm on the 29th January, so friendly and nothing was a problem for her, what an asset to the team, I do find Premier Inn to be a tried and trusted brand.

My Stay was excellent, The Reception was friendly, they explained about the covid arrangements.
No one would enter my room. Fresh towels were available on request as was Tea & Coffee from reception (plentiful) if I left the bin outside the door they would empty and leave outside the door, whilst this may sound not what everyone expects I was quite happy, considering the covid situation.
The room was very Clean, Bed was comfortable, and the water hot and plentiful

The hotel itself was in a great location for me and never been disappointed with a premier inn before, but this one is just too hot. The heating is off in the room and it is September in Scotland with an outside temperature of 8 degrees, but the room refuses to drop below 25 degrees even with the window open. And it’s not just my room. When I left the hotel at 6:30 in the morning, the windows to most rooms were open, not something you’d do by choice given the traffic noise and general noise from the pub next door.

Note, this premier inn doesn’t have a restaurant so there is no breakfast offering bar the breakfast box.

On a positive note, they do seem to be doing a decent job of their Covid precautions.

Don’t think I’ll be rushing back here.

Had a great 4 night stay bran new beds which are very comfortable the staff are really friendly, nice hot showers and large deep baths, fan in the room if needed, very clean, if you need your rooms cleaned then go to reception as per the leaflet which was not a problem, bath mats available at reception, housekeeping staff very polite and anything you needed you can ask, extra tea and coffee facilities 24/7 at the main desk so no waiting around.
If someone is reading the comment regarding the rooms not being cleaned or beds pulled up it will be because they haven't asked for this to be done. Resturant next door is not connected to the premier inn as its not a premier inn pub and hasnt been for around 10 years.but you can book breakfast at the other premier inn 5 mins down the road. KFC, McDonald's, and ice skating rink next to it. The ice skating does disco Fridays which is great for kids and around the corner thier is big park camperdown with animal zoo and good for walks, shops near the hotel is mcalpine shops which has butties great for breakfast and cheap for a bite to eat this is a a takeaway facilitie,so a excellent location for facilities. Shaun manager is great and very accomadating said morning and made an effort to make sure we were comfortable in our stay. Thank you

Hi there How far from the sea is this hotel ?

This hotel is right on the water , but I'm afraid it's the River Tay & not the sea. You'd need to travel to the mouth of the river where it joins the North Sea. Carnoustie is about 25mins away.

Hi John All of our disabled access rooms at this hotel do have lowered baths I'm afraid. I have also checked our other hotels in Dundee and these also only have lowered baths at the moment. Apologies for any disappointment. Kind Regards Samantha
