We were really pleased with our gorgeous Apartment. It was much bigger than we anticipated with a good size Bathroom with Bath and the whole place felt light and airy . The Kitchen had everything and we also had two Televisons !!! The only downside was the rather uncomfortable seating in th Living room area. These apartments are really good value and so much nicer than being stuck in one room ! There is an M and S Simply Food with 5 minute walk . We ate at the Daisy Tasker the first night which was handy as we didnt know Dundee at all . The food was OK though not cheap. The free Breakfast was good , served by friendly staff and there was a reasonable choice . Dundee is an interesting city with a fascinating history, lots to see and museums to visit. Great , Friendly staff and when I left my IPad adaptor Callum and Ivan arranged for it to be sent to me ! Thank you , excellent customer service…
We had 4 nights in a Staybridge Suite and it was probably one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in the UK! Our third floor suite was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Breakfast was included and the social nights (complimentary drinks & nibbles) Monday - Wednesday were a bonus! The complex is in an old converted mill and it would seem no expense has been spared on the renovations. Some places that have been renovated for hotels have generally areas where corners have been cut or you can see evidence of cost-saving, but I could find no such evidence here. We got a suite so we didn’t feel compelled to eat out every night and it turned out to be a good plan, there is a Marks & Spencer Simply Food just across the way where we were able to stock up on food & drink. If you’re travelling by train (as we did) then the hotel is around a 20 minute walk from the train station. This was our first trip to Dundee and we found it to be a very pleasant place to visit, lots of interesting history there. We will definitely be back - only if it’s to stay at the Staybridge Suites again!…
I have now stayed at the Staybridge on two occasions and both experiences have been excellent. Check in has always been prompt and great, the staff have went above and beyond for us on our two stays. Leanna (from Latvia) was particularly great at the desk and was really helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. She checked us in and was really engaged in our We got a complimentary upgrade and the rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. The whole hotel is sleek and nice. The complimentary breakfast (included in room price) is lovely and has a vast selection of different foods to suit everyone. We will be staying here again on many more occasions for our trips to Dundee.
Was here for two days. On the positive side room was clean and warm, staff generally friendly. Down side, booked dinner for the reteraunt...Daisy Tasker, on arrival the couldn't find the booking but wasn't an issue as the place wasn't busy. Should have been a sign, not a big menu and sadly food just wasn't great and overdone. Cooked breakfast not fab, cereal was ok. It was a surprise to see guests from the Hotel Indego being sent here for their breakfast....some less than happy folk.
Lovely stay with my daughters, had booked 2 apartments. Lovely and clean, great staff, really friendly. Breakfast really good. Bonus with having a tv in the lounge area and bedroom area. Will definitely be returning with my husband.
The staff, first and foremost are lovely and incredibly helpful. check in was a breeze, the complimentary upgrade to our booking was very welcome and the room was exactly what we wanted. Very clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. We stayed for new years eve, and had a lovely meal via room service from Daisy Tasker, and could not have been happier with our stay. Great food, reasonably priced. Highly recommended, just be aware that parking onsite is a bit limited, we didn't have any issue, and am sure the reception staff will be pleased to help find alternatives should it be a problem.
Had a 3 day break in Dundee and was pleasantly supposed with the hotel. Room had a kitchen, comfortable bed and was clean and there was a fully furnished kitchen. Very polite and pleasant staff especially Sophie (lewis) a nice boy 😀
I stayed in the Dundee Staybridge Suits 24-26/12/21 I had one of the best hotel sleeps ever, and I have been in a lot of hotels. The rooms are minimal in decor but still keeping the old jute mill architecture. The breakfast was good ( which is usual for IHG group ) on the 25th we were offered bucks fizz with breakfast which was a nice touch. The kitchenette was well equipped, one annoying thing was no handwash in the kitchen, so had to run to the bathroom. The lounge sofa is a bit hard but ok. The a/c - heating was very quiet and controls worked well. The tv had the usual digital free channels. The apps were poor and you could not add any. However I always take my firestick. The wifi was good. The bathroom was also good, no bath ( disappointed) but a good walk in shower. Bedroom great bed - you could make it very dark, and a huge plus point for me the temp was cool. A niggle was the celling velux room bind was a pain to The staff were attentive and helpful. Overall a very good stay…
A great feeling to see the old jute mill has had tome tlc. Its years since i have seen this building which was crumbling and badly neglected. I hoped that one day it would be converted into apartments or hotel even if to preserve this grand old buildind. IHG have done a fantastic job with it seems no expense spared. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully finished. Really enjoyed my stay here
Decided to stay in Dundee as we had never stayed overnight before. My husband found this as it is marketed as dog friendly. As usual I treat this with a little scepticism as usually you are provided with poor rooms. On this occasion I was delighted to find I was entirely wrong in this assessment. Upon checking in the staff could not have been any more welcoming and advised we had been given a free upgrade on our room, which we did not request or expect. The staff gave clear instructions on the care of our dog whilst we were there. All entirely reasonable and what we would expect. We arrived on the Wednesday to be advised between 6pm and 7pm there was a free meet and greet with the staff and free food and drink provided. We attended and all staff were amazing and friendly. The free drinks were welcomed and the food was plentiful. The room itself was spotless and spacious and far better than expected. The bed was one of the comfiest we have experienced during our many weekends away this year. At breakfast, both hot and cold options, we were able to bring our dog to a room set aside for guests and their pets. As we were able to do the previous evening at the meet and greet. The room was spotless and welcoming to both us and our dog. This is an aspect we did not expect as we usually have to put her in the car. I had read some nonsense reviews regarding parking. We were informed of a local council run car park that was approx 100 metres from the hotel. This cost about 10 pounds per night as you only had to pay between 0800 and 1800. It is well lit and in a quiet part of town so the lack of security was not a concern. This low cost is what I would expect to park in any city. Also has the option to pay using an app so no need to run down at 8am to put more money in a meter. The staybridge is an outstanding venue with fantastic staff who are a credit to the company. I will definitely be back …
