The Mansfield House Hotel has now been awarded 4 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board.
The Mansfield House Hotel is situated in approximately 10 acres of established grounds on the outskirts of Hawick, the largest of the Border towns famous for the Common Riding, rugby and knitwear. The house was originally the private home of the Oliver family built in 1870. These entrepreneurs of the new industrial age tastefully influenced the many distinctive architectural features, from the thistle and rose ceilings in the lounge and reception areas, to the Russian pine shutters, skirting and doors throughout the main house. The hotel is family run by Lynn Evans and Stephen Murray who also have the sister hotel elm house hotel in Hawick. We are dog friendly we have wood land walks around hotel were you can watch roe deer some times badgers and foxes .we cater for large bus party for meal or stop over for the night with good rates. we also cater for weddings and functions up too 200 .

Had a fabulous three night stay at this beautiful family run traditional hotel set in its own grounds just outside of Hawick. We stayed in a huge room with super king bed, settees and large tv. The bathroom was in need of upgrading but was very clean and roomy. Lots of storage space. We felt very at home here and would have gladly stayed longer. There is a lovely bar area for casual dining and drinks and a formal area for breakfast and dinner. The food was lovely and food and drink prices were reasonable. The staff could not do enough for you and contributed to a fabulous trip.

We stayed here for two nights. Really friendly and helpful staff at reception and in the dining room. Extensive and varied menu to cater for all tastes. I had steak the first night and then pasta on the second, both very good. Hotel is set in it's own extensive grounds on the way out of town. An old fashioned building but rooms were well equipped if fairly small. A comfortable stay

Am just back from a 2 night stay. I was in room 6 with 2 big windows and comfy armchairs. The hotel is very safety conscious and all the staff are very professional, helpful and positive in manner. I felt very looked after and had a fantastic stay. I ate in the hotel breakfasts were very good and dinner was excellent. The lamb and tiramisu were scrumptious.

We booked this hotel last minute as the weather forecast was good and we decided to have a mini break to Scotland. We booked a king size room which was lovely. I would have given a higher rating if the bathroom had been better, but it was very tired looking and a disappointment compared to the bedroom. The staff were a credit to the hotel from the moment we stepped through the front door, all extremely friendly, polite and attentive. All wore masks and gloves so that was appreciated. We booked a table for dinner and had a pint of lager, 1 bottle of wine, 1 calamari, 1 pizza and a pasta dish. The bill was £50 and we were pleased with the quality. The dining room was tastefully decorated and I can imagine at Christmas it would be even better. We would definitely visit again as there’s much to see and do in the area. It would be nice to visit on a warm sunny day as the gardens and outdoor seating areas are lovely.…

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful old house. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the building. The bedrooms are immaculate and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. All the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. A special mention has to go to the owner of the hotel who makes you feel at home from the minute you enter the building. Food at this hotel is amazing. A vast menu including traditional and Italian dishes caters for all tastes and is reasonably priced. A little gem in the Scottish Borders. We will be back.
