This was a beautiful cottage in a great location. The cottage was cosy, well equipped and although close to the A7 there was very little road noise. We had a really peaceful stay in a lovely lounge overlooking the bird feeders which can keep you occupied for hours and the bed was so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our family and friends.

We stayed as a family group in September 2020 in a virus quiet period. The owners Dean and Jen had prepared the house with care and everywhere was very clean and had Covid precaution taken into account. That was a first priority.
The property was ideally suited for us, excellent all round for a larger family group with very comprehensive facilities and plenty of comfort. We could hardly find fault if we had been looking for it!

The location is very good being in a lovely rural spot next to the river Teviot and several places to relax and have walks yet in close proximity to local shops, attractions and mainstream supermarket within a ten minute drive. From there there is easy access to many Border towns famouse houses and the like, the new Borders railway and plenty more. We visited Traquair house (about 30 minute drive from Hawick) that has something for everyone from a micro brewery to take pigs, forest, play area and wonderful cafe. We could also have visited Abbotsford house (we went last year) which is a great day out too and many more -too many to mention!

One measure of the care taken by owners is if things go wrong. We had a minor hiccup and Jen came straight over and sorted it. Great service.

All together excellent value for money for a week's stay, thoroughly enjoyable and would not hesitate to return.

Beautiful cottage and amazing hosts. Thankyou for your hospitality. The cottage is immaculate with numerous little extras - coffee machine, log burner, wine cooler- all very high spec. Access to the river was ideal for our water loving labrador-she was exhausted every night! Location is perfect for exploring the Borders and the suggested walks were really enjoyable. We had a great holiday. Thank you so much.

The cottage is very nicely decorated and had everything we needed for a few days r and r. We only used the oven and microwave and the instructions were perfect for us. The grounds and garden were very pretty with all the summer flowers, our only downside was that the cottage is on the main A7 road so you can’t go for a walk, you must drive. Definitely recommend as it was very comfortable for up to 5 people

A fantastic cottage perfectly set up for a family of 5 with a dog. Very well stocked kitchen and some lovely welcoming touches including coffee pods, milk, tea, biscuit, and even firewood for the stove. The cleanliness of the cottage is worth mentioning, absolutely spotless throughout. Would book again in a instant.

We booked this cottage for a few days away as a family for a very reasonable price. We were very pleased with the beautiful, well decorated and presented accommodation. It was spacious and had everything we could possibly need. It was set in beautiful surroundings and we had a lovely peaceful time away. We enjoyed playing board games and enjoyed a couple of family movies. Jen and dean were superb hosts and went above and beyond to post some forgotten toys back to an extremely pleased 3 year old. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend !!!!

This cottage is stunning and all of the rooms are a very good size. It's well equipped with just about everything you would need. Good precautions taken against Covid-19. The cottage is situated on the A7 and exiting is a bit treacherous. A mirror on the opposite side of the road would be helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay and were made to feel welcome from the moment we opened the door. Booked as a family getaway and base for exploring our family’s past as that’s where my gt Gran & Grandad were from.

The many walks that are on the doorstep were a hit with everyone including our teenage kids. We had so much fun and will definitely rebook in the future.

We spent a relaxing weekend at this beautiful cottage and had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen is stunning and has everything you could possibly need. The lounge sofas are extremely comfortable and the bedrooms are delightful. We had our two dogs with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the forest walks in the local area. I would definitely visit again.
