Detailed Reviews
A small rough start but in the end it was a fantastic stay over all and I’d be back In a heartbeat
The bad part…when we first arrived to the hotel room and settled in we realised the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. bathroom glasses were covered in lip stick and the tea mugs still had stains on them we were a bit worried about what was in store for us next if basic things were being looked over . we rang the reception and they immediately moved us down the hall with x2 complimentary free drinks as an apology.
After that the x4 night stay was amazing. The hotel currently offers a free complimentary breakfast every morning serving a hot breakfast buffet like Sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, beans, toast, coffee/tea, muffins, Yoghurt + fruit. 6:30am to 10am which is surprisingly late for breakfast but we weren’t ones to complain. Parking is free at the hotel if you drive or rent a car which was so handy for us as finding parking in belfast city that won’t cost an arm and a leg is hard. it also meant our car was safe at night (behind a high fence+ underground parking) as we have an Irish reg plate, Hotel rooms were cleaned everyday and if you forget razors, toothbrush, toothpaste etc…the hotel would give them to you free of charge and finally an hour before I checked out I requested a late check out and how much it would cost they told me it’s free of charge till 2pm, that was the real cherry on top
It’s honestly about the little things when you go to hotel and the small details it all adds up to the experience and Holiday Inn express belfast did just that. I’d recommend them to anyone staying in belfast and I’ll be back in a heartbeat if we’re ever in belfast again.
The loss of one star for the hotel room is for the original dirty cups/mugs but the bed was incredibly comfortable and warm and the location loses one star as even though it’s still in belfast city it’s on the edge. So your talking maybe a 20-25 min walk to get to the centre if your young and fit it should be no problem but for older people a 20 min walk up and back could be a problem. We didn’t mind too much and a taxi or Uber was on call away.

This is an excellent base to explore Belfast. We attended a gig at the Empire Music Hall (5-10 minutes walk away) and walked into the city centre (less than 30 minutes walk) the following day. Hotel is modern and clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We arrived early but were checked in without question. Special mention to Conan who chatted to us while clearing our breakfast plates away and who took the time to write out a few pubs and restaurants he recommended based on our interests. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Belfast.

We stayed with a group of friends for a recent long weekend. The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient for the centre of Belfast and all the main attractions.
The rooms were serviced daily and we had an included buffet breakfast which was very enjoyable.
All the staff were friendly and welcoming, in particular Conan, who was always working very hard to make sure we all enjoyed our stay and evening drinks.
We would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

To begin withThe young man named Conan at the reception/bar was the friendliest and most informative member of staff you could have put in front of me The beds were super comfy, the rooms were well laid out including an ironing board and iron. The showers were very nice with good water pressure.breakfast was excellent, a very good pint of Guinness, the hotel was very clean. I Would definitely stay here again.

Arrived here the 21st June for our first time in Belfast very early I called the hotel and they kindly let us check in early due to our room being ready at 11am which was very much appreciated as we were very tired from the early morning start, the staff who greeted us during our stay were lovely and the hotel gives a calm and relaxed but professional environment. The food menu looked lovely for the afternoon/evening meals I only had a panini but even this was lovely and a perfect snack for the middle of the day served quickly. The breakfast we had included for both days and it was lovely and still very fresh considering we didn’t come down until 10:30 which was a great surprise!! Only thing I’d say that could be improved about the hotel would be the size of the towels as they are quite small even for an average size for person etc.. the toilet roll was quite thin and the hotel can get quite loud with the doors upstairs and people coming and going in the morning if your having a sleep in but this was expected staying so close to the city centre, overall we had a lovely stay and we would come again!

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Staff are exceptional, from the moment you check in, you are greeted with a smile. I had to go down to reception at 4am to complain about the room next door playing loud music and shouting(Saturday night).
The night manager was a star, he ran upstairs, and before I got back to my room he had sorted the room out and all was quiet. Top marks there.
Lovely clean hotel. The included breakfast was excellent, fantastic choice.
The lady working at the bar was another to compliment. She would often come across to the tables and ask if everyone was happy.
5 minute walk from the lively Golden Mile, near to the university, plenty of nice restaurants and pubs.
We would get back to the hotel in the evening after a days sightseeing and it was a joy to sit in the bar and relax with a drink and the food was also very good.
Compliments must go to the team leader that gives the training to this staff .
Will definitely be going back. Many thanks for making it a great stay in Belfast

Had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express and would definitely stay again for future trips to Belfast. We had booked an accessible room and it was very comfortable. The only issue was that it had a bath rather than a shower which isn't ideal.
Staff were lovely - I had forgotten a toothbrush and so very much appreciated the complementary one!
There were a number of small touches that just elevated it above other budget hotels I've stayed in (like the dove products in the bathroom, which smelled divine!)
Breakfast is included and was pretty good - I recommend the hash browns!!!

Located in the Queen's district of Belfast about a 15-20 min walk to the centre through residential and shopping streets that are fine during the day but can be a little 'lively' at night. Only a short walk to the Botanical Gardens and the Ulster museum which is well worth a visit (and is free). We stayed for a week on our first visit to Belfast. The breakfasts are fantastic best quality of a HI Express we have stayed in and included potato cakes. We were given a spacious room really comfortable bed and lovely walk in shower. The staff were all great especially housekeeping. The bar and cafe area are always open which is great for a quick snack and drink. Bus services in Belfast were great we found the no 7 was nearest hotel stops located on Botanical Avenue were best for getting in and out of town.

This is a great hotel!! The staff could not have been more helpful. During my stay I was using crutches and everybody went "over and above" to make my visit as smooth as possible. They secured me a room as near as possible to the lift; they opened doors, and they helped me to get everything I needed at the breakfast buffet, and carried it to the table for me.
The room had everything I needed for my time there - very comfortable bed with pillows both soft and hard; great wifi; excellent tv coverage; a very good bathroom with lovely toiletries. And, something I've never seen before - a list of complimentary items available from reception, just in case the guest has forgotten to bring a razor, shaving foam, toothbrush / toothpaste, and much more.
The breakfast buffet was amazingly varied, and of great quality.
Car parking was included in the room price.

Bus stops are outside each airport, from international, the bus was pay on board, it was about ÂŁ28 one way for 2A 2C, and it took about 40 mins to the europa bus centre.. the holiday inn is 5 mins walk from there, and the holiday inn express is about 15 mins walk, and away from the busy centre. The buses all have options to pay cash, card or app. The city airport is nearer to all that, of course, but could be pricier to fly to maybe?
Regular bus and taxi services. Depends on what time you arrive if late it will be a taxi. Reasonably priced.
