Looking for a location to meet with a friend of my wife’s for a coffee and scone during a trip to Northern Ireland, we settled on The Stormont Hotel which is only about 15 minutes from the ferry port.

The car park is not at the front of the hotel on the main road, so you turn off just before and park in the very large area behind. Drive up to the main door if you can, rather than walking up from the car park. There are plenty spaces at the moment with the restrictions on weddings and conferences.

The team at the hotel were quick to check what we would like to order once we had found a space at the side of the main door... the seats were spacious and comfortable, high-backed and well spread out for social distancing. The scones and coffees/teas were quickly served, with the variations we’d requested correctly remembered. The quality of everything was excellent, including the complimentary shortbread rounds which were served with each coffee or tea.

When leaving, we asked for a paper napkin to take away the remaining shortbread for later as the scones were quite filling... the young lady asked if we would prefer to have them in a small box, which we agreed would be a good idea. They were brought back in a lovely Afternoon Tea box for spare cakes.

We could not fault anything about our experience at The Stormont, and were made to feel genuinely welcome throughout our short visit.

Thank you. We will highly recommend your hotel to anyone looking for a similar location to meet.

Went to the Stormont Hotel on the entertainment package, we saw Bjorn Identity, had bed and breakfast all for £70pps. Staff were friendly and helpful, atmosphere was very relaxed. The room was a good size and beds so comfortable. We ate in la Scala restaurant, they were doing a reduced menu and when we saw the steak sandwich wasn't on it our waiter said he would ask chef if he would do it, he obliged, and it was gorgeous, clean plates all round.£17 for steak sandwich and £22 for bottle of house wine, great prices. We had drinks in the bar after the show, where the assistant manager informed us, they stayed open as long as residents wanted. Breakfast was amazing, cereals, fruit, ham, cheeses, different breads, cooked breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Tea and coffee served at the table. Across the road is Parliament Buildings with a great park for children including picnic areas and forest to walk through. We were pleasantly surprised and The Stormont Hotel ticked all the boxes, well done, we will definitely be back.

Dear Finnegans Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your evening at the Bjorn Identity show as part of your overnight package. They would certainly be one of our most popular shows during the year. I am delighted also that you enjoyed a wonderful meal in La Scala bistro and found it great value for money also. Our location is one that attracts many people to the hotel and of course our free car parking. We hope to be able to welcome you back to the hotel again very soon. Kind regards Brian

Stayed for two nights with my sisters for the Abba show.
The room was spotless and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and we always got a good morning on the way to breakfast which sounds like a small thing but really makes the hotel feel homely.
The general manager said hello when we were checking in and then asked if we needed anything for our stay, we aren't from Belfast so asked for recommendations for food for both nights and Andrew booked us in for dinner in the restaurant at the hotel for one night and then a lovely local Italian. If we stay again we will just be using the hotel restaurant as the food was one of the nicest meals we have every had. Antony couldn't do enough for us from recommending a nice wine to get with Thai curry to getting a duck for my granddaughter. Such a gentleman and nothing was any trouble.
The show was brilliant and then Andrew recommended the Sunday buffet before our 4hour drive home. It was spectacular, a manager called Brian greeted and seated us and explained how everything worked and made sure we were well looked after, he was lovely and very helpful.
The decorations were amazing and we got some lovely christmasy family pictures. The hotel was so clean and the staff were just amazing. Can't wait to return for another show and Sunday buffet.

I recently stayed at the hotel for business and was impressed by the experience. All the staff were friendly and efficient, especially in the on-site La Scala restaurant. The location is very quiet, being away from the city centre, and a good night’s sleep is guaranteed by the most comfortable beds I’ve had at any hotel for a long time. Breakfast is okay (Bushmills whiskey for drizzling on your porridge!) but as with many “hot” buffets, the food really wasn’t. There is an option to order eggs etc cooked fresh so I’d recommend going for that. All in all I enjoyed the stay here and would definitely return for either business or leisure.

Great stay from start to finish. Had the sourdough and cured meats in the bar with a glass of wine and it was amazing. Room was clean and plenty or tea, coffee and those lovely biscoff biscuits, the bath water was nice and hot which I like. Breakfast in the morning was very good, the a la carte is much better than the buffet that used to happen, no more soggy soda bread for me. Staff were polite and courteous and couldn't do enough for me. Hand sanitizers are all over and staff are wearing masks, made me feel really safe. Well done Stormont.

We arrived quite late and tired after a family wedding which probably entailed too much chatting and eating and the hotel was as ever welcoming and comfortable but we were both tired and thirsty. I went to buy a coke from the bar but alas it was closed and there was nothing else available to provide non alcoholic refreshment (we readily understand the restrictions on sale of alcohol) but eventually a staff member used his initiative to go and get a glass of cold water with ice but really a couple of bottles of spring water for the room costs a few pence and would be a great help.
The room was very good and the beds in particular were probably the most comfortable beds we had used for years. The water in the bathroom was great pressure and very hot and checkout was smooth and helpful. The hotel is very convenient to get the new Glider bus service into the city and they are happy for you to park there at the hotel all day. After a business meeting in the lovely lobby we were able to get into the city centre for the rest of the day and back in the evening.

Hotel is well located opposite the Stormont parliament building. We had a warm welcome and were able to check in to our room at 10 a.m.
We paid a very reasonable price for this 4 star hotel including an extensive breakfast. Tiny cakes are served with tea and coffee in the reception area which is a nice touch and all staff are pleasant, helpful and polite. Well recommended.

Stayed one night for Gareth Brooks tribute act. Room was excellent, warm and cosy and could not hear any outside noise .. The bed was fantastic. Just so comfortable and very relaxing. The bathroom was spotless with loads of hot water and beautiful smelling toiletries. We had dinner in La Scala restaurant and the food and service was first class. Very friendly waiters /waitress. Breakfast the next morning was good. Staff inform you as you enter that it is self service but if you need anything just ask. Nothing appears to be a problem. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will return. Well done all staff.

Spent a very relaxing 3 night break in the Tomas Andrews suite at this friendly and comfortable hotel located just a short step from the Stormont building and its lovely public park. The design of the building looks somewhat odd from the outside but works really well with a central lobby, reception and shared space linking 2 accommodation wings. All the staff were friendly, helpful and convivial and there were always sufficient to cater for all the guests. The suite itself was incredibly comfy and in spite of being at the front of the hotel it was surprisingly quiet, with no discernible traffic noise. There was loads of space a capacious bath and kings sized bed which was so easy to get a good nights sleep in. Food and drinks were varied if not exactly cheap, but the shared hotel spaces were well laid out and relaxing and more than adequately staffed. A great 3 nights.

Ideal location as a base for visiting family. Hotel very pleasant, buffet breakfast was ok but disappointed that fried eggs were not readily available, you had to order them ahead. Also the black puddings were extremely greasy and slightly off-putting which was a shame as they tasted nice. My main gripe, however, was the tea/coffee making facilities during breakfast. Both mornings of our stay there were no teaspoons in the vicinity, and also nowhere to leave used teabags etc. On the second day there was even a shortage of mugs for a while, and the restaurant wasn't even that busy! Sort out these minor basic issues and it would be almost perfect

You can walk to the hotel from the city centre It’s not very far. at use the traffic lights to go across the road to where the buses sit at the right of the city hall Then just keep walking There’s another set of lights to cross and the Grand Central is not far past that It would take about 5-7 minutes to get there Hope this helps
