I stayed here before Christmas with my cousin who was home from New Zealand. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were so friendly . We really enjoyed the piano bar & the staff were very accommodating in getting a dessert to suit me as I have allergies (milk). The location was perfect for us & we were within walking distance to most places we wanted to go . I will stay here again . Room was a bit small but the bed was very comfortable. There was a great selection at breakfast too .
Booked a family room at start of January with husband and two children. Family room very tired decor. Bad stains on carpet in hallway outside. Pictures on walls stained with water marks on the prints themselves for some reason. Under and behind beds filthy and full of dust. False eyelash on desk and used facecloth in bathroom. Staff in reception very helpful and apologetic and house keeping informed to deal with while we went out. On return though facecloth still hanging in bathroom. There was a problem with sewage that night too and the smell in the piano bar and foyer was horrendous. No real acknowledgment of this by staff as to how this might impact the guests in their stay. Bar downstairs was closed as a result of this. Windows opened and I witnessed a member of staff walking through piano bar with top over nose and mouth spraying the air with what was presumably air freshener. Lovely breakfast the next morning and good staff. In hindsight I should have complained more whilst there. Didn’t receive any emails asking for feedback on stay . Very disappointed with overall experience. …
Today I paid for the worst most expensive food if you could call it that I am referring to the afternoon tea which was 35 pound per head for a few stale sandwiches and dry scones I could not belive the poor standard of the food
I chose the Europa because it was the pick up point of a tour we were taking. What a lucky choice! It's absolutely beautiful and the staff were unbelievably helpful and nice. We were startled to read that it was the hotel with the most bomb exploded IN THE WORLD, but that was at the height of "the troubles." It had lots of bombs because it was where politicians and journalists liked to stay. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved it. Fabulous view of Divis/Black mountain from the bedroom. Interior decor was first class. I was very impressed with the on suite facilities - I want one. Staff were professional and welcoming. Excellent city centre location right next to the central coach/bus station. I would definitely recommed this hotel to family and friends.
Our stay at the Europa was average, but tainted by our frustration with the fire alarms. At 4:30 in the morning the fire alarms went off, triggered by smoke in a neighboring building. We were grateful for the notification had there been an actual fire. We filed out onto the street with other guests and we had a hard time getting information from the hotel team if we had the all clear to return to our rooms.
Spent a night in the Europa after attending an event there. The overall experience was great between the Piano Bar, the function room and breakfast all was top notch and very enjoyable. The location was excellent and the buzz around the hotel made it all very special.
Once again the Europa made our stay enjoyable and memorable. Whole experience from start to finish, felt welcome and catered to by friendly staff. Fantastic service, lovely room and nothing but good things to say. Would recommend highly. Compliments and commendations to all of the staff for their exceptional hard work.
Having attended numerous events at the Europa, this was my first time staying at the hotel. Upon arrival in was greeted by Thomasina who couldn't have been more helpful and allowed me to check in slightly earlier. The room itself was spacious and modern although it could have done with a lick of paint to cover up the marks on the walls. However, my stay was overshadowed by the fire alarm going off three times the next morning. Having read other reviews this seems to be a common thing at the Europa and would make me reconsider staying at the hotel as the last thing you want after a night out is to be awoken by a loud alarm and flashing lights only to be told there is no need to evacuate, let alone this happen multiple times.
The room was amazing, the food fantastic and the service from the staff was outstanding. Just a fanatic place to stay right in the heart of Belfast . It’s just 3 mins from city hall and has a multi story car park to the rear just 1 min walk from the hotel entrance.
