Hastings Grand Central is more than a hotel. It’s an ode to a city. Standing tall in Bedford Street, this impressive jewel fuses glamour and grandeur with a uniquely Belfast spirit. Perfectly placed in Belfast City. Just as Belfast is at the heart of the Grand Central, the Grand Central is at the heart of Belfast. Set in the up and coming Linen Quarter, the hotel is a spectacular hub for exploring Titanic Quarter’s history or Cathedral Quarter’s charming cobbled streets, pubs and eateries. Theatre buffs, shopaholics and historians alike will all be spoiled for choice, with a host of options right on their doorstep. Conveniently located for all transport access, the Grand Central is perfectly placed for every city centre endeavour – from business to leisure and everything in between.

We had an excellent lunch in the Grand Cafe, overnight stay and breakfast experience. I am happy to report that normal service has resumed after COVID restrictions for breakfast service. Thank you for such a lovely weekend away for my friends birthday. I cant wait to return.

I had booked the grand Central Hotel for a birthday treat for my husband. We had a lovely stay ,the room was fabulous and the hotel had left us red velvet cupcakes 🧁 which was a beautiful surprise. We had cocktails in the observatory and the views over Belfast was stunning. I would highly recommend the grand Central Hotel 5*

Hotel rooms were spacious and clean. This 14 storey hotel has multiple lifts so there was never an extended wait for a lift, The higher storeys had great views and we were fortunate to be looking over City Hall. Had lunch in the hotel on one occasion, which was perfectly fine. The Observatory Lounge had great views but the quality of the cocktails were appalling.and the white wine was tepid. Not great for £24 for 2 drinks. A pint in this lounge will set you back £10 and for some unknown reason they do not serve Guiness even although you can get it in other parts of the hotel. The Titanic complex is within walking distance and there are some excellent eateries (James Street, Elpic etc within a 3 minute walk.

Very disappointed with my stay for a number of reasons. Positives: -Staff were very friendly and helpful (albeit there was not enough of them) -Bed was very comfortable -Location is great/views from the Observatory rooftop are stunning Negatives: -Queues, queues, queues - I stayed on what was clearly a busy weekend - but there was just not nearly enough staff... long queue for check-in (only one clerk working)... long queue to get into the breakfast room... -Room - not nearly as luxurious as expected. No in-room fridge. No in-room water. Small and no view. -Breakfast - food was cold! Orange juice described as "freshly squeezed" and it was cheap concentrated stuff. Definitely would recommend eating breakfast outside the property. -Observatory bar - stunning views but just felt grossly overpriced for what it was. -£5 charge for a bucket of ice to be delivered... £10 charge for room service... just seems excessive. -Phoned reception at one point and gave up as no-one answered. -Housekeeping entered room at 9am on the morning of checkout despite not having to checkout until 11am. Definitely did not feel like a 5* experience. Overpriced for what was provided. Would not return. Feel sorry for the staff as could not fault them but felt like at times they were trying to man a sinking ship.

Not a great start. Staying here for 1 night for my wife’s birthday. Check in ok but one of the first things they say to you at check in is “ we take the full cost at check in”. Slightly embarrassing as my wife was standing beside me and now she knows how much the surprise cost me. Then to rub things in they actually charge me more than they price on the booking £20 more. This led to more embarrassment as I had them to go back down to reception to query this. The receptionist said no I was wrong that was the correct price (until I brought up a copy of my email booking). No real apology but got the refund but seriously how can this happen. Room ok on the 22nd floor (paid the £20 for guaranteed high floor) Requested view of city hall got view of building site at the back of the hotel looking out at the building site beside the Maldron hotel. Room is fine but no bottled water not that grand and room has a large area unusable due to a large “service box” taking up a good bit of the floor space. Seriously the hotel is not full why!! 3rd and last time at Grand central back to the Merchant next time.
