Enjoyed our bank holiday stay, staff was friendly and room was comfortable. I have to admit the food in the Grand Cafe was too class. I can not wait to return. Special shout out to Joanne on Reception. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
Falls way short for an alleged five star. . First impressions are good. Lovely lobby and decor, friendly staff and a fabulous observatory bar overlooking the city. Comfortable bed, robes and slippers. So far so good, unfortunately that's where it ends. This a beautiful modern city hotel with NO facilities. No gym on site (available offsite for an extra £10 per hour), no parking, no spa or relaxation area. Late checkout (after 11.00 AM is an additional £40 (but why bother!) Small rooms that are impossible to heat. Cold bathrooms (no heating whatsoever). Small dark wardrobes. Additionally the bars lack the usual nibbles and suffer erratic pricing and short of garnishes for most drinks. No turn down service, poor replacement of water or toiletries. Reception left unattended at times. I love my comfort and I am prepared to pay for it but not here. Very disappointed.…
For 300 pound. The room was basic, no fridge no wow factor. Bed was rock hard, pillows where worn out. Pr8ce of drink was scandalous. ........... bar staff where young and rude and having to go out the front door for a smoke then waiting ages for someone to reopen the door was stupid.
From we arrived until we left everything was perfect. Friendly staff. Cosy warm room on a wet day was much appreciated. The seahorse restaurant was amazing. Again great staff and the food was delicious.
My husband and I booked an overnight to include afternoon tea in the observatory and dinner in the Seahorse restaurant. The rooms were spotless, fabulous facilities and very comfortable. Afternoon tea was a delight and a lovely way to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. The views were stunning. The highlight had to be our meal in the Seahorse. Staff went above and beyond, they were so attentive and knowledgeable about each course. The drinks recommendations were perfect and we had a wonderful evening. Breakfast was of a very high standard with a great choice. We would recommend The Grand Central and would love to return in the future.
Lovely hotel, especially travelling in business. Location is spot on, room and breakfast were very nice, although there wasn't a fridge in the room. Used the Seahorse restaurant for dinner and rooftop bar for a drink in the evening, both very pleasant and the views were outstanding. Staff were fantastic throughout, would recommend.
Great staff food is amazing hotel is situated in a fantastic place all within walking distance from the city centre and bus an rail station rooms and beds are comfortable ill definitely recommend this hotel
Loved our break at the Grand Central Hotel! Great location and all staff were so friendly and welcoming. Room was gorgeous and the comfiest bed ever!! We would not hesitate to visit again and would certainly recommend it.
We had excellent service in the observatory from 2 members of staff one young man called Matthew (tall, blonde) and one young lady who were friendly and polite. Matthew was also on the next morning and enquired about our evening. Excellent customer service skills.
Stayed here for one night to attend a dinner in Belfast. Got an excellent rate and decided to give it a try having stayed previously at the Europa and Culloden , other Hastings hotels and also using the Everglades regularly, which is my local hotel. Check-in in was quick and friendly as was check out. The room was excellent and the shower was very good. Had breakfast in the morning, not part of the rate but the food was perfect and again service was excellent. One small issue I have is parking. Valet parking is provided but a little pricey. Perhaps inclusion in the rate might be a better way to do it, but suppose that penalises the majority of guests who aren't driving. Did park in the Grovesnor road . But was a little bit of a hike with suitcase etc. Probably better to drop luggage then park . Got car and picked up on leaving. Worked fine and £14 discounted rate was pretty good. What makes all Hastings hotels stand out is the genuine friendly and helpful staff. They just either manage to pick the right people or train them very well or more likely a combination of both. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and I certainly will stay again…
