We spent four nights in this fabulous B and B in a suite overlooking the rolling hills of County Down and a distant view of Strangford Lough. Ideally situated for visits to Belfast using the nearby park and ride ‘Glider’ and the ‘right’ side of Belfast to visit The Mournes and surrounding areas. We stayed in the Scrabo suite which was spacious and well appointed with a very large and comfortable bed and extras you would expect from a 5 star+ establishment. The bathroom was ultra modern and like the bedroom, spotless. Excellent power shower with top quality toiletries and towels. The hosts Avril and Ian were very helpful recommending local restaurants and places to visit. The breakfasts were outstanding, two ‘appetisers’ followed in my case by a full Irish breakfast cooked to perfection. What’s not to like!…
Avril and Ian, the hosts at Peartree Hill have created a truly wonderful environment and experience for their guests. There is a huge attention to detail which ranges from the quality of the bedlinen and towels through to a perfect choice of breakfast dishes. Both Avril and Ian know the area incredibly well and can guide you in everything from choice of restaurants for evening meals through to where to park in Belfast. They simply could not be more charming or helpful. Their home is beautifully situated with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We will certainly be back!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 days at the end of July and we were astounded! Though Peartree Hill is conveniently close to Belfast and many other places, we planned to take short road trips (4 hours round trip) all over Ireland during our stay to see as much of the country as possible. In hindsight, we are more than happy to have stayed at Peartree and have a commute over lodging anywhere closer to our destinations with a shorter drive. The stay was THAT enjoyable! We stayed in the Ballymagalf suite, which was very spacious and beautifully furnished (coming from an interior design graduate). The bathtub was a wonderful way to relax after a day of adventure, and the bed was quite comfortable! The room was cleaned and replenished every day, including the mini fridge with water and milk (for the tea). Our room faced beautiful rolling hills, and the adjacent property was a pasture with friendly cows who visited us daily. In addition to the suite, we had access to the dining area and a guest lounge. We had a door that opened to the outside with a river pebble run, bench, and a row of aromatic flowers. Avril and Ian, our hosts, were incredibly pleasant--they had recommendations for things to do each day and offered us whatever resources they had to make our trip special! We were offered a map and a pair of binoculars to watch seals at a place that was near a forest we were planning to visit that day--we had no idea seal watching was an experience we could have without Avril's suggestion. Breakfast was served in 3 courses with choices for each one: Avril is an amazing cook who sources her ingredients locally. Anything you eat will be delicious! You'll also have the choice to eat in your room or in the dining area that features large windows with a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. If you're lucky, you'll have the opportunity to meet their precious dog, Tilly. She is the sweetest girl! I am told she also enjoys herding sheep and cows who escape pasture every now and then. Before graduating in interior design, I worked at a bed and breakfast for 6 years, and a couple of hotels before that. I can say with certainty that Peartree Hill exceeded all expectations I had for our experience! If you're looking for lodging which provides privacy, repose, delicious food, and a personal touch from hosts who genuinely love what they do, Peartree Hill is where you should stay.…
Second stay at Peartree hill it’s so Much more than a B&B great host great place breakfast to die for next time in Northern Ireland this is where we will stay hopefully Would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for your hospitality
We spent 3 nights at Peartree Hill and found it perfect - very comfortable and clean with superb imaginative breakfasts. Our charming and helpful hosts gave us lots of useful advice on where to go and on restaurants. Very highly recommended
Everything was perfect, from the warm reception, through the architecture of the house and the magnificence of the room and bathroom to a superb breakfast in the morning. A wonderful place to stay with outstanding views! I recommend the full cooked breakfast with the Irish black butter, which is not butter at all. Thank you!
Recently spent a night at Peartree Hill and found it to be the most amazing B&B we have ever stayed in. Even before we arrived our host Avril couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. She suggested restaurants for an evening meal and booked a taxi for us. The house is in a beautiful setting and the rooms and views are incredible. We stayed in the Strangford room and it was so clean and comfortable with lots of touches to make our stay perfect including a bottle of bubbly in our fridge and homemade treats. Breakfast menu has choices for every taste all homemade and local. Definitely worth a visit and hopefully we will return soon. Thank you Avril for a perfect weekend.
I had a lovely stay at Peartreehill this weekend. Avril was most welcoming and had put all necessary COVID precautions in place. The room itself felt plush and relaxing, whilst the ensuite was top notch, with luxurious complimentary products. There was an excellent selection of breakfast options to cater for all needs and complimentary local produce. My room had private access with a stunning view, and access to a terrace for finer weather. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it.
We stayed here for a birthday treat last summer and it was just perfect. Breakfast delivered to our room was beautiful and we loved the personal touches! The room was beautifully furnished with spectacular views - we live locally but felt transported to another world. The location is so quiet and peaceful. Avril and Ian are lovely and went above and beyond to make our trip special, we loved the homemade cake on arrival! The rooms were spotless and the covid measures they had in place made everything feel so safe and professional. We definitely recommend a trip here, even if you live locally. It is perfect if you are looking for somewhere extra special
Great stay at the Peartree Hill. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The location was peaceful while still close to Belfast. The breakfast was superb and the hosts could not have done more for us. We would highly recommend this place & will be back!
