Travelers' Choice
Imagine a hotel where roaring log-burning open fireplaces hint at its roots dating from the 1300's, with a vaulted ceiling and original wood panelling built in the seventeenth century. Visit a hotel that has been coloured by the characters of history. At The Lygon Arms, with its 86 rooms you can stay in the suite that King Charles I once stayed in the night before the Battles of Worcester in 1651. See the carvings of John Travis' name on the arch of the front door, etched into the hotel's history in 1620. An historic hotel in the heart of Broadway with a typically Cotswolds history. Dine in Bar & Grill or the Wine Bar, or enjoy a coffee or a Cotswold Gin and Tonic in one of our many lounges. A spa , swimming pool and The Lygon Gardens await you but most importantly the team look forward to welcoming you. .

Booked a three-night stay for a Wedding Anniversary Phoned . . rather than 'guess' the right room on the website Answered by ESTA, She was SO helpful in enabling us to select the room to suit our particular needs (had to be right!) It was . . . . ALL good Car parked safely . . Great welcome from JENNY in reception . . (and so much helpful advice during our stay) Bags taken to room, It was lovely, with an Anniversary Card ; nice touch - thank you! Quiet room, comfortable and atmospheric Great ambiance in hotel; a tasteful mix of very old with modern Used the Spa; it was simply great! Facilities clean, modern, relaxing and a good sized pool Enjoyed a massage too. One hour, well worthwhile Dinner in restaurant (anniversary!) simply perfect Table for two by an open log fire What could be better? GEORGE helped us choose; he was so helpful and made us feel valued as customers Food was, well, perfect. We chose the venison and lamb mains (starters were delicious too). Lamb Cannon the best I have enjoyed for a long time. Nothing was too much trouble We ordered apple crumble room service! Delivered promptly, beautifully presented, on a tray with a ball of ice cream, custard and a cheerful server Oh yes, location. Simply perfect. Right in the centre of a delightful Cotswold village, so much better than one of the busier tourist centres. Great shopping!! Overall, a simply memorable three-night stay And for Covid? We felt safe. Nothing more to add Thank you . . .

Awesome place, with great service, a long fabulous history and we enjoyed relaxing couple of days away with friends. Plenty of Resturant’s and pubs for a few days, if you want to go outside the hotel. Nice church but make the effort to walk out of the village to visit the ‘old’ village church it’s well worth it!

We stayed at the Lygon Arms for three nights in November. It’s a beautiful property situated on the Broadway high street. Everything about the stay was wonderful. The pre-stay personal phone call, the warm welcome at reception and the spotless room with a supremely comfortable bed. We even had an anniversary card personally signed by the hotel. I used the swimming pool every day and it was super. The changing rooms were immaculate and the spa staff, very helpful. We ate in the Lygon Grill Room (a beautiful grand hall) and enjoyed a brilliant beef wellington. The waiting staff were very attentive. All in all, the perfect place for a romantic break. We will definitely return.

On arrival, staff were extremely helpful and even offered to come with us to direct us to the car park. Rooms are stunning with huge showers, copious amounts of towels along with that early morning necessity, plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Front of house in the restaurant and bar, Evan was knowledgeable and extremely professional, any restaurant in London would snap him up in a heartbeat. The wine list is undergoing a revamp so its not very extensive at the moment. Food is divine, served by a lovely chap called Daniel who once we had finished eating, then offered to tell us a brief history of our stunning dining surroundings. The only blip was less than perfect service in the bar on our first evening, the staff was disinterested bordering on the rude. However, the reputation of the bar service was saved the following night by George who was both friendly and highly professional. I would highly recommend a stay here but make sure you book dinner at the same time as your room reservation, the restaurant gets booked up very quickly.

A beautiful setting for our November wedding. Extremely helpful staff ( Lindsay, Jose and Norbert) who were super attentive but unobtrusive, which is quite a skill. Wonderful, seasonal food and lovely rooms. Our guests absolutely loved it and so did we!

Room Tip: The soup, which changes daily, is always amazing. And the pastry chef, Jack, is a star!
