I stayed here for a few days and parking is meant to be FREE for hotel guests as stated on their website, when i returned home i received a £170 fine from their car park!! I spent more than 2 weeks trying to call Parking Eye (car park company) and Novotel trying to sort out this problem as I did not do anything wrong but NO ONE wants to help, especially the duty managers. Also, Parking Eye has put a FAKE address on their website and no number that works to talk to someone. I had to email them and they would take ages to respond and when they do respond its no help. At Novotel they were extremely rude to me and very unhelpful, it was terrible customer service especially from someone that is meant to have power and be head manager. The staff are lazy and do not want to do their job, all they had to do was give me a reference number and call Parking Eye company to confirm I was a guest at their hotel and the fine would be returned to me BUT NO they basically told me there was nothing we could do about it as the money has been taken out of my account now and to just let the situation go. This is false advertisement and fraud!! Parking Eye and Novotel are in partnership together to steal people's money as none of them want to help and blaming it on the customer, even when you appeal and give all the relevant info. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!…
As a key worker during the pandemic I have been staying in various hotels through the Covid crisis and this was one of my favourites. Easy to find, room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Best of all was the service - really friendly, and I felt looked after throughout my stay, despite the strangeness of the times!
I stayed at the Novotel during a period of lockdown here in the United Kingdom as a key worker. The room was spacious, a cupboard with hangers is available, a mini fridge, as well as a kettle. The bed was comfortable and, most importantly, it was clean and quiet; a must for a light sleeper like me. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which would be useful when staying with at least one other guest although there isn't a sink by the toilet. The bathroom itself is quite big with a large sink, and all the toiletries you would expect to find. I can't comment on food service as it was understandably suspended during my stay with Covid-19 restrictions in place, but the hotel supplied gloves and face masks at reception and had reminders in place regarding social distancing. The hotel is close to the A1 but there was no road noise that I could hear from my room. Ordinarily, amenities nearby include a 24 hour supermarket, a carvery right next door, a couple of retail parks and transport links in bus services and the Tyne and Wear Metro. All are walking distance from the hotel. Under the current circumstances, shop trading hours are limited but you can still likely find what you need if you have to stay during the current restrictions. What impressed me at this hotel was the friendliness of every staff member who were always looking to ensure I had a comfortable stay. Nobody looked bored or disinterested when I came to talk to them and they were all upbeat despite the situation at the time. Whether a short stay awaiting a flight or a long weekend in Newcastle I would recommend this hotel.…
Me and my partner had stayed at the novotel for the day as we had a day trip. I was shocked as the room looked sophisticated and modern for such a great price. The only fault was that the lady at reception wasn't the most welcoming but other than that everything was great!
My wife and I had a night here in March, and had dinner in the restaurant. Recently refurbished, the hotel was in good order and everything was clean. Restaurant food was good as was the service. The restaurant was quiet in our mid-week stay. We both agreed that we would stay again.
