This is my second stay at the Crowne Plaza Reading and I was hoping for many more as I need a base in the area. However it is unlikely that I will stay again. On arrival I was kept waiting an hour for my room to be ready and I was told this was because of a late check-out of the previous guests earlier that day (their tray of leftover food was still on the floor outside the room when I left the next day). The executive suite was lovely though and spotlessly clean. I also attempted to order food via room service and despite a chasing phone call this never arrived! I was too tired after a long journey that I had to go to sleep with no food. What a shame I will need to look for an alternative base in the future as this hotel would have been perfect.

We spent almost two weeks at this fabulous hotel. I can not say enough about how welcoming and friendly everyone was. We felt like family. A special shout out to Nick the manager, Emma adorable Front desk person, Hafsa very good at welcoming me every morning for breakfast, and Marius the best Old Fashion we have ever had.The spa and workout room was great. Alex was very welcoming and Sharon gives the best massages. The location of the hotel was so beautiful and peaceful. Great spot and we highly recommend staying here. We will be back.We miss everyone.

I come here once a year for a reunion lunch. I enjoy a glass of ale, but you won’t get one here. On draught you have a choice of two fizzy lagers or Guinness. Normally in these circumstances you look for a bottle of something in the chiller cabinets, but they are full of flavoured ciders. I realise it’s a hotel and not a pub, but surely they can do better than this?

If you are looking to join a gym take my advice and stay well away from this one. Once they have you they do their best not to allow you to leave. You will be told when you sign the contract if there is a medical problem comes up and you can’t make use of the services on a regular basis you can cancel the contract! This isn’t true and they couldn’t care less about what you are going through. All I was offered was to freeze my account for a few months (so they still get all their money obvs) . I have even written to the CEO and he couldn’t be bothered to even reply to me so shows exactly what this company are like. I say again STAY AWAY

Dear beastonalilo, Thank you for your review based on your Leisure club member. I am sorry to hear your frustration with regards to the issues you have encountered when trying to cancel via the 3rd party provider in which you joined our club on a promotion with them. I understand that you are now in contact with our Revive Club Manager Liam whom is assisting you with your query. Thank you

My wife and I have a really wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza Caversham Bridge on Saturday night. Beginning with a very welcoming receptionist, and seamless check in, to a clean, well equipped, comfortable room. The hotel has a enviable position alongside the Thames , where we enjoyed long walks and the fantastic ambience of the large outside seating area. During our stay we noticed how very friendly all the staff were, and were obviously enjoying working there. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spa ,which was very clean and well stocked at all times. Can’t recommend this hotel more highly and is a tribute to the management team there, many thanks
