When my family bought the Hopping Hare in 2006 our aim was to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, somewhere just a bit different. A place to dine, stay or meet up and relax with friends, family or colleagues. We didn't want it to be stuffy, intimidating or over the top. We set about creating luxurious rooms, a subtle, sophisticated bar with a great selection of quality drinks and a restaurant offering some of the best food to be found in Northampton. As a family owned and operated business, we set the standards on service, value for money, atmosphere and personality. No detail has been overlooked in creating a hotel, restaurant and bar in Northampton with an individual blend of 21st-century chic, high standards and a laid back friendly feel that we are sure you'll begin to notice as soon as you step inside. We've got to know some of our guests well because they come back time after time. In fact, 2010 saw the completion of an extension to the hotel to meet increased demand for accommodation from a growing clientele. My team and I would love to welcome you to stay for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Once the Hopping Hare is on your radar we guarantee you'll be back. David George, General Manager

Overall, we were delighted with the room, its comfort, the food and service. Would stay here again. It is a surprising place given the size and quality of the hotel being in the middle of housing estate, but then the estate has probably been built on the grounds of the manor

Dear Phil, Many thanks for your feedback and for awarding the team top marks, very much appreciated by us all. Dealing with your points : No tissues : great point we will now have tissues in all rooms. The radiators are temperature controlled, usually set at 22 degrees. We should have noticed it was a little chilly and increased the temperature, sorry about that. Our king-size mattresses are deep deluxe pocket sprung and are all ''zip and link'' which is essential due to their size and weight to enable mattress turning by our housekeeping team. However, the zips should be secured under fabric and not noticeable so we will check out room 19. Many thanks for your feedback and we hope you can stay with us again. Kind regards, David.

Having heard many reviews I decided to book a table for a special dinner. The staff was polite enough but after a wait time of almost an hour for our meals it definitely was not worth the wait. Average service, average food. Will not be rushing back to eat here anytime soon.

Dear Anu, I am sorry about your wait time and we can be very busy on many occasions, however I have spoken to our Managers and Supervisors and they are not aware of any unreasonable waiting times. We always have a Manager on Duty and they will deal immediately with any special requests or complaints. I do wish that you had asked to speak to the Manager who would have resolved the delay to your satisfaction. Excellent customer service is one of our highest priorities and the team are totally focussed on delivering this priority. Kind regards, David.

Attended Sunday lunch with my wife. The table was easily booked earlier in the morning through their website. The service was prompt and friendly. Haddock and fish was well cooked. My wife had chicken roast and she thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a good selection of desserts.

This is a lovely two Rosette Restaurant which serves excellent food. I met friends there for lunch and we were given three menu's, Comfort, A La Carte and Bar Menu. For me I made the mistake of ordering from, I believe, the Bar Menu, Pan Fried Hake with Beetroot Salad and

Dear Kitty, Many thanks for your kind review and for awarding the team top marks, which is very much appreciated. We do have a variety of menus which are regularly changed including an A la Carte and a Comfort menu and we try to ensure that every dish offers exceptional quality at great value prices. Food prices can be very volatile and thank you for understanding that this is the case. We have also recently introduced a weekly market fayre menu to ensure that our customers have a wide choice of dishes for every occasion. We very much look forward to your next visit. Need to be near the city centre, is this within walking distance from this hotel
Dear Gabriel, Thanks for your enquiry. We are convenient for the town centre (c 2.5 miles) but not really within walking distance. If you decide to stay at The Hopping Hare a taxi is the answer. Kind regards, David.
