Came here just before the 2nd Covid Lockdown 2020. The staff took all the correct safety measures, but the younger staff lady looked very agitated and stressed. Everything went successfully to plan. The room we had was the loft suite, Its very spacious and clean. The bathroom is amazing with a roll top bath, power shower and a mini sauna! Very Nice indeed! However the bedroom was a bit of a let down.... Small, cold and the mattress was very uncomfortable, We didn't sleep well. Car Parking is £10 on site, And the older staff lady was very helpful and moved the cars to let us out during check out. Nice stay, quiet area... and a nice walk to the Shambles too!

Very much looking forward to visiting this hotel after reading reviews online but I was terribly disappointed by the state of the room and the lack of care and attention. Room wasn’t very clean, dust everywhere, marks on the bedding, carpet hadn’t seen a vacuum, staff were not very attentive and breakfast wasn’t to a good standard. Considering the COVID crisis we are all facing. Standards were very very poor !!!

Visited this hotel and stayed in the apartment with my Mom for her 70th birthday. It was an excellent experience. The staff were great. We felt safe during our stay and the apartment was clean. Would definitely stay her again.

First short trip after Lockdown 2.0 and couldn’t have asked for anything better. First of all, all the team were friending, welcoming and great fun - making you feel welcome. The room was well kitted out, spotless and warm with loads of room for the dog. Breakfast was superb and the location was excellent with just a 5 min walk to the City and easily accessible by car so you can visit other areas. It was great to get out and about again... I will be back.

My wife and i wanted chance before before lockdown escape, we booked the apartment in the Marmadukes town house. On arrival we were 2 hrs before check in , but we were allowed go straight to apartment, and OMG what a lovely apartment, it was huge , huge bedroom with really ornate furniture and a mirror that was at least 8 foot x 4 foot , large living room with 2 sofa beds , large kitchen area , separate wc, separate walk in shower. Extremely well decorated and very clean . Check in lady was really (sorry never got her name) helpful nothing was too much trouble really helpful when we struggled get cooker working , kitchen was equipped with full size fridge freezer gas cooker electric oven , microwave, toaster , possibly some people would like more cooking pots , but we got by. The bed was very comfortable, but every time we moved bed made squeaky noises bit to off putting when trying sleep. The best bit to hotel was how quiet it was no outside noise at all , and the fact it was so easy to walk into York , 15 mins slow walk , train station was same distance, only 10 minutes drive from main road ,it truly is a hidden gem of hotel , will be going there again , would recommend to anybody
