Very enjoyable stay at the Churchill. Thanks for looking after us with the parking - we were a party of 3 and our adult daughter has learning disabilities, so they did their best and it worked out. Restaurant was very good and breakfast, whilst expensive, was top quality fayre. Couple of little things - the shaving light in our bedroom (113) did not work which made the bathroom a little dark. I know the bulbs are available as I have exactly the same shaving light at home. We did not mention whilst we were there because of the covid position. Also the room was a little small, for 3 people but we very often find that as we are 3 adults. Key question - would we stay again - absolutely. The staff were excellent and the hotel is a lovely place to stay. Recommended!

This was the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed at The Churchill, this time in the Bridal Suite, which is huge, looking out over the pods in the front garden (which look great at night when they are lit up). Everything was excellent with our stay – all the staff are fantastic ! We ate one evening in the hotel and the food was very good indeed (Lobster Thermidor and Pork Belly as mains), as was the service, nothing could be faulted. Breakfast was also first rate, and again, so was the service. The quality of the ham with the eggs benedict was excellent, as was the quality of the full English breakfast. Finally, if, like me, you think the portrait of The Queen on the first floor landing looks more like Dame Edna or Eddie Izzard, it’s because it’s not the Queen - it's Lady Churchill !

Rather good. Very pristine and fancy. This hotel is a biggie. The location is good as there are lots of places within a 15 min walk. The rooms are large and the wallpaper is brilliant (it’s plans for planes). The bathroom is shining like something that’s been recently cleaned, which is probably because it had recently been cleaned. The showers point straight down and drip more than they do flow, as a result I don’t like them. The closets are large, and contain an iron and ironing board, however I am unsure whether or not they have washing machines. The room comes with complimentary snacks. The mattresses are brilliantly comfortable, genuinely one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a while. The beds do have wheels on the bottom, but don’t fret when you see them, as the beds DO NOT MOVE! They have a bar and restaurant, both beautifully decorated. The breakfast menu has a plethora of choices, so I can only imagine how big the menu is for dinner. The pancakes with maple syrup are FANTASTIC! It filled me up and was tasty, however it wasn’t enough (I MUST EAT MORE! EVEN IF I AM FULL!). Overall, a really nice hotel, however, when booking our trip, one of my travel mates (my mum!) attempted to prebook a dome to eat in. We were told that they weren’t open yet. But when we arrived, PEOPLE WHERE IN THEM?!?! Turns out they were ready earlier than planned, however, they never thought to E-Mail us for some reason!?!?

Undecided about this hotel. It is very nice, and clean. But... I had sent a few messages before I went asking about parking... Its £10 per day and a first come first served basis! The entrance to it isn't clear and is very, very tight (so is the "car park") I also asked about hiring the Domes. Online was offering me the night I was there but receptionist told me they weren't opening until the following evening. (I asked this question a week before I was due there) I show up and the Domes are full! Receptionist tries to fob me off with a crap excuse! So annoyed! Room and toilet very clean and nice. Rain started as I was settling down and then the drip, drip, dripping started! I couldn't sleep. I went to reception around 1:30am...head thumping, raging! Guy was so unhelpful! He offered me ear plugs!! There was another guy washing the floors who stood outside looking up at the window he thought was mine and said he "couldn't see anything'!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?! I got even more annoyed and stormed off. Got very little sleep. Breakfast WAAAAAY over priced!

Just returned home after a memorable 2 day stay at The Churchill , a group of 10 elderly friends from university days .. Due to lockdown we should have visited a year ago last June .. they honoured our booking .. From arrival the friendly/ cheerful staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive The rooms in the main part of the building were clean, roomy and modern with large walking showers and two front of building suites had decadent free standing baths The breakfast and dinner menus were varied and the food was well presented and tasty The service at both breakfast and in a very busy dining room was first class Added to the above the fact that there is on site car parking, and the hotel is a easy 10 minute walk into the City make The Churchill a top stay in York …
