Mike was great! Very funny and jovial. He made us feel very welcomed and told us about all the deals that they had. The food was also excellent and we would definitely come back here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Went to the Steam Engine during this week with 11 other people, all friends .Someone else found and booked the dormitory. As an older woman, I was rather sceptical as I've never stayed in a hostel before. What a wonderful surprise. The dormitory was immaculately clean as were the toilets and shower room. Food was rather pricey but nicely served .The bed, pillow and bedding were really nice and comfortable. It was lovely and warm with shutters to shut the street lights out and give us a very good nights sleep. Would definitely visit again, No negative points at all in my opinion.

Perfect. Very friendly vibe and great staff. With the cost of well located central london hotels so high mid-week I decided to search for a private room at a hostel instead. This was a great choice. Using a popular bookings provider I had a private room+shower for £52. Bargain. Think they only have one private, its Room No.5 on the top floor. Clean as a pin, spacious. Far more character than a cookie-cutter chain. Staff are terrific. The small pub has a great friendly atmosphere and although the menu is modest the food is great. The Hostel attracts a younger crowd, as one might expect. I am in my 50s, however felt completely welcome.

The place in general looks amazing, the beds are very comfortable, showers are very spacious, everything looks new as I believe it has been recently refurbished. I stayed 3 nights there and was able to rest perfectly, very quiet rooms. Staff is just amazing, specially Luana which you definitely have to talk to if you stay here, she will make you feel a very special guest. Thank you! P.S. Location is just unbeatable, you can walk to Westminster (10mins).

The location of this place is incredible, 5 minutes and you’re on the Thames, 20 minutes to Borough market, 30 minutes to Trafalgar Square. These are all walking times . The place is really clean and tidy the staff are friendly enough and if you like a beer or food they serve it downstairs in the pub. Sadly , there are no kitchen facilities to cook your own food, I like preparing healthy homemade meals and eating cereal in the morning, I couldn’t do this. It becomes very expensive . So if you’re planning on staying here a while , be prepared to spend money on eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all snacks. They do serve food in the pub and it’s nice pub grub but with only up to 20% discount it’s still very expensive. But if you’re only staying for a day or two then I’m sure that’s fine , you’ll only spend around £25 extra on food a day per person. Would I stay here again, Yes. It’s great as it’s so clean and close to central London.
