Detailed Reviews
Booked this hotel on a late deal through Secret Escapes for 2 nights (Fri & Sat) in September and we absolutely loved our stay.
The hotel is in a great location, just off Oxford St, 5 mins walk from Marble Arch Underground Station.
Upon arrival we were checked in by the lovely & friendly receptionist who advised us we had been upgraded to a deluxe room and asked if we wanted to be located close to the lifts or away from them. We were also given a bag filled with soft drinks for the mini bar. The receptionist also advised us that we could get 50% discount on food & drinks at the Hard Rock Hotel which was literally round the corner, an offer we did take advantage of.
The room we was allocated was absolutely lovely. Very Large space, huge bed, TV, Tea & coffee making facilities (fresh milk is provided by reception), nespresso machine with 4 pods per day, iron & ironing board, hair dryer, plenty of storage, A/C and a wonderful rain shower in the bathroom with toiletries provided.
Breakfast was included in our deal and you need to book a breakfast slot in advance under current Covid restrictions. The breakfast was priced at £14 each if we had been paying separately so to be included in the deal was really good.
The choice of breakfast was full English, vegetarian English or Continental.
We had the full English & we got Cumberland sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown, beans, toast, croissant & danish plus orange juice and tea or coffee. The food was of good quality and cooked really well. The service in the restaurant, like at reception, was very friendly and personable.
I’d highly recommend staying here, all the staff here make you feel very welcome and are very friendly, the comfort of the hotel is of high standard and in a great location for the sights of London.

This hotel is ideal if you are intending shopping as it’s just at the end of Oxford Street. Check in was a bit frustrating as we had to have the NHS app to be able to check in. So having waited to register when then had to download the app. The lady on reception was however very helpful and patient- not sure of her name but she was on duty at 2.30. This was my first visit to this hotel and I paid for a standard twin not sure if that’s what I was given but the room was very spacious. A desk with chair and two easy chairs. The room was very clean and generally in good condition. Breakfast was included in my rate but would have been a very reasonable £14 each if paid for separately. I had full English which of a good quality and well cooked. My daughter had the continental option which again was excellent bowl of fruit, meats and cheese, yoghurt, toast and 2 croissants. Staff were very attentive offering various drinks etc all at table service and tables all well spaced for social distancing. Special care was given to cleaning with staff sanitising chairs and tables. Excellent service all round good food and great staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. Fabulous stay thank you

Our stay here was great from the very beginning we checked in, after a long 15 hours flight from home. Ms. Lymariana who checked us in was so courteous and accomodating. She ensured that we had both the rooms near each other and on the same floor. We also requested for a late check out, Mr. Korichi M. Yasser and Ms. Fotini worked out a great deal for us. The staff at this hotel are just marvellous!
So we stayed here with for 6 nights and this is our fourth stay here. We booked the Executive Rooms which is 32 square meter in size and very quiet too as it was facing inwards not the main street.
It comes with breakfast and they have a lot of halal selections on the buffet. There is also quite a number of halal a la carte menu if you want to order room service. We had access to the Executive Lounge but did not had time to enjoy it as we were in and out of the hotel most of the time.
The location of this hotel is superb as it is right in front of Primark and within walking distance of about 5 mins to Selfridges.
This hotel has always been our choice whenever we are in London and will continue to be.

Stayed for 2 nights in January 2020, whilst working in London. I’m not often in this part of the city, so this was a first time at this hotel.
Amba Marble Arch was easy to find and is a great location, close to Hyde Park and the shopping on Oxford Street.
Entrance to the reception area is up an escalator/stairs from street level. Check in was super quick, with a welcome upgrade to an Executive Room.
The hotel is large but the 4 elevators give swift access to your floor. My room was large and comfortable, benefitting from large flat screen DTV, coffee machine and complimentary mini-bar. Plenty of electrical points with handy USB charging points. There was also a safe, hairdryer and iron/ironing board. Robes and slippers were also provided. Bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower.
I used room service on one evening, prices to be expected but reasonable time to deliver and the food was good. Breakfast was busy, but the staff were quick to seat me, with plenty of selection at the buffet.
I was slightly disappointed with the gym. Very small with one treadmill, a rowing machine and elliptical trainer, and a small selection of weights. But the equipment was well maintained, and I’ve seen much worse!
All in all, definitely recommended.

We were greeted by a really helpful and friendly man on reception who made sure our rooms were close to each other. My room was comfortable & clean, Fabulous crisp clean bedding & good pillows (I struggle with pillows but these were wonderful!!) great rain shower & nice towels. Iron & Ironing board provided which was handy as my suit for my meeting was creased after my flight. Good hairdryer. Complimentary water & Diet Coke and popcorn in the minibar. Breakfast was good but communication was extremely difficult, both days we requested poached eggs & after being passed around several staff members we were brought a plate with 4 fresh eggs still in their shells. We tried to explain what poached eggs were & again several staff members came over & could not understand what poached eggs were & then they came back again with the same 4 intact eggs in their shells rolling around. This was funny on the first day but exactly the same thing happened on the second day as well. I think maybe it’s a simple training issue & that the staff need to know what these popular breakfast items are in English & other languages too, it must be as frustrating for them as it was for us. Let me be clear the staff really were trying so hard & were smiling and running around trying to help, but I visit London regularly with work & expect that when I’m in a UK hotel at least some of the staff can understand & speak English reasonably well. The hotel bar was really good & stayed open & serving until the last person left which was great. Concierge helped us with directions & arranged taxis for us. Location, this is the jewel in the crown, it’s tucked down a side street, so it’s not noisy at all, but literally round the corner from Oxford Street with all the shops & Bond Street tube station which is on the main Jubilee line so great for accessing the o2 arena. I would recommend The Three Tunnes pub which is literally 20 yards away on the opposite side to Costa. The staff in there are great & it serves food & shows the footy. Good atmosphere and service.

Overall, a disappointing stay, here’s why. Hotel caters for Middle Eastern customers and it is clear they take priority. I estimate over 90% are Arabic. I do not have a problem with that, but I do have a problem being made to feel second class to them by actions from hotel staff. Face masks are not enforced inside hotel by staff, hand sanitizer on the wall at main entrance by concierge empty for the whole 4 days of our stay. Breakfast is shocking, borderline disgusting. staff cannot cope, unhygienic, and utensils sitting in the food, tables filthy and food items not topped up so always waiting for things. I spent my time worrying about my safety from covid. Staff do not bring coffee so always searching yourself for hot drinks. In an age of covid this hotel would be responsible for the spread, despite displaying an AA covid secure award at main entrance, which for those of you unaware is actually a worthless piece of paper that you can buy, but looks good for the hotel so don’t be fooled. Based on my experiences above, I would avoid this hotel again, and would not recommend.
However, hotel is in a good location, has fast free wifi, room cleaned very quickly and to a good standard. Room toiletries are nice, ironing board, fridge in room.

First class customer service from all the staff at Amber Hotel Marble Arch. It was very busy but Azim on reception took time out to welcome my wife and I and had arranged an upgrade to a deluxe room with a cake for our anniversary. Our room was large for a London hotel with lots of natural light with a modern feel and housekeeping should be complimented as the room was spotlessly cleaned.
As we utilised a Tastecard for 50% off meals it was a no brainer to try out the restaurant. Adrian was on hand to offer advice, smiles and excellent service along with Cristian who was always available to help. Excellent service from both of these and a pleasure to use the restaurant.
I find breakfast is always a true test of management especially when it is busy. This was without doubt one of the best organised I have had the pleasure of dining at. Amdrei the Restaurant manager was adept at making sure the breakfast selection was plentiful, tasty and hot. Amdrei was adequately backed up by Adil who was gregarious ,professional and even though busy took time out to have a conversation. A true asset to the Amber brand.
The hotel is in an excellent location and I cannot praise it highly enough. Tony Hill General Manager has a hotel and staff to be proud of .Well done to all concerned.

I was relocated here as The Thistle Kensington which I originally booked was closed. Turned out to be a great result as the hotel is situated on Oxford Street so ideal for shopping and restaurants & bars. There was escalators, stairs and a lift to get up to the reception as only the concierge was situated at ground level. The reception seemed big as The Deli, the restaurant and the bar all lead from the reception. Receptionist stood at 4 columns to quickly check you in and where very friendly and informative. 4 mirrored lifts were available to take you to the rooms and trendy seating were available outside the lifts for waiting. The corridors were carpeted.
The room was fairly spacious and had a full length mirror on one side and large built in wardrobe on the other which had a safe with 3 drawers on one side and a double hanging area on the other side which also held the iron & ironing board plus the hair dryer. The comfortable double bed was well dressed with decorative cushions & a matching bed end. Built in bedside tables with a drawer and an opened space were either side of the bed with built in lamps. Opposite the bed was a desk with a single long thin opening, a desk lamp, a execute chair and the wall mounted TV above. The TV had the usual free channels plus extras like foreign channels, Sky channels, YouTube, BBC iplayer, ITV Hub and even Hotel information including your bill. To the left of the desk was a unit containing the free mini bar which only had Coke & water in and there was also tea/coffee/hot chocolate facility with biscuits and a Nespresso machine . The view was terrible of the inside walls and other guest windows. There was also a "Do not disturb" button that you can press which puts a red light outside your room to warn that you want to be undisturbed and the room temperature could be self adjusted by a control panel. The bathroom was an OK size with a large double shower that had 2 shower heads; one large fixed overhead and one hand held one. There was also a single circular sink with a mirror above and the usual individual toiletries.
The bar area had plenty of seats with tables and food could be also ordered up until 11pm. We had the fish & chips which was well presented and tasty with a very large side of garlic mushrooms along with my Pina Colada. Food was also available at the Deli and as room service both again to 11pm. The Deli served snacks, sandwiches, cakes, hot & cold drinks etc. Breakfast in the restaurant which was available to 11am was hectic as very busy and we had to queue to get in plus wait for utensils and bowls but it had a great variety of cold and hot foods including unusual selections like Hummus, olives, figs and omelettes made while you wait as well as usual items for a Full English, cereals, pastries, fruit & yogurt.

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate my husbands birthday in London. All the hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. We were given a room upgrade which was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the whole place was very clean. Shortly after arriving in our room we received a telephone call to check everything was okay and whilst we were out the following day we were contacted to see if we needed anything at the hotel. All requests were met. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful and hot! As the restaurant is not open for dinner, guests are offered 50% off at the nearby Hard Rock Hotel which we took advantage of. Overall a fantastic stay and a big thank you to all staff.

After reading quite a few negative reviews after booking this hotel via a offer on travelzoo we were beginning to wish we had booked somewhere else especially as we were staying there with friends, we were ready for rude staff dirty rooms and all the other issues we had read about from other people on this site and other travel sites.
Let me tell it straight, we were greeted at the door by a extremely helpful door man who pointed us in the right direction, next stop reception this was handled very quickly and efficiently as you say service with a smile, we were told everything we needed to know regarding breakfast, Wi-Fi restaurant/bar where the lifts were and check out times
The room which happened to overlook Oxford Street was very quiet very clean and extremely comfortable the bathroom was up to date and clean, yes we can all comment on scratches on paintwork but when you consider the amount of people in the hotel it’s hardly surprising. Some people have commented on the state of the corridors from my observation on floor seven it’s the people staying there that have gone shopping and left all there rubbish outside the room instead of keeping it by the bin in there rooms but it’s is not the hotels fault.
Would I stay or recommend this hotel most definitely.

As far as I know most rooms have separate showers. Some rooms may only have a shower and no bathtub, some will have both. But it’s best you check with the hotel directly.

Hi yes it has and we found the staff looking after it helpful.and efficent .The staff that you meet right inside the doors look after all this for you. It is a busy hotel so I would ring ahead anyway and clear it with them.
