Firstly, can I start by saying, ignore any of the bad reviews, those people need to pay the going rate for 5 star if that's what they expect.
Literally a 2 minute stroll from Paddington Tube Station (turn right out of the Tube and first right onto London St., You'll soon see Norfolk Square) Check in was a breeze and up to the room on the 4th floor. let me just say, you need to be fit lol. The room itself has everything you need, but very small and a small shower 'room' in the corner. The room was mainly taken up by the double bed, which did give us a comfortable nights sleep, which is the main thing. There is a Hairdryer, plus you have a kettle, cups and plenty of tea, coffee & milk supplies, topped up on both days, as were the towels. The full English Breakfast was spot on and all staff were very friendly and helpful with directions.
Lancaster Gate Tube station (5 minute walk towards Hyde Park) was best for Oxford St., Leicester Square, Chinatown and the like, using the Central line, £4.90 each way. It's also walkable at an easy pace in half an hour or so, (we tried both). The Natural History, Victoria and Albert and Science museums are all located very close the the South Kensington Tube Station. Walk to Paddington Tube and take the Circle Line to get you there. Again, £4.90 each way.
Overall, for the price paid, location to everything, along with the Breakfast and staff, it is well worthy of a 4 on the rating (Any less is harsh) and yes, we would use again.

We have just returned home today after staying at the Falcon for the last 3 nights. The Falcon is advertised as a budget stay so please bear in mind when viewing the type of properties that are in London and the price you are paying. There are a lot of stairs so if mobility is an issue please take that into consideration, as there is no lift (which is often the case with more budget hotel/B&Bs in the area, this is not a negative comment, but more informative).
We arrived on Thursday and the Owner was on Reception and we had a lovely warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
We had Room 2 which was downstairs by the Breakfast Room. We had a Double ensuite. For the price we paid, there was enough room. There was a table, wall mounted large TV, hairdryer, fan and tea&coffee. There is a small wardrobe and stand for your suitcase. The en suite I found larger than others for this price point; the shower cubicle itself isn't huge, however these are usually standard sizes for the B&Bs in the area.
The bed itself was very comfortable and an extra pillow in the wardrobe (and could have requested another had we needed it)
Due to the Covid situation the Room had been aired for several hours and the door and window open when we arrived. There was no daily clean so everything was only touched by us and nobody else. Should an extra towel be needed then we only had to ask; the Owner had been very reassuring when we arrived that should we need anything we only had to ask.
Breakfast is currently not being served (which was not a bother, as there is a great cafe very near by and not expensive) so I would imagine that it may get a bit noisy in this room around breakfast time. So if you like to sleep until beyond 8am, then this room may not be to your liking. For me, I'm always awake from 5am, so don't think it would be an issue.
Staying in Paddington is great, and the Falcon is only a few minutes walk away from the Train Station and Underground. You also have places to eat as there are a few restaurants within a few minutes walk and some Pubs. We always go to The Sawyers when we arrive for our lunch and a pint! For our breakfast we went to Sandro Sandwich Bar on Spring Street, quite small but does have seating outside too and friendly staff. So don't let the current situation of no breakfast put you off.
We enjoyed our little chat with the Owner every morning and look forward to meeting her again on our next visit, hopefully in just a few months' time.

We have just returned from the falcon hotel after a 3 day Christmas trip to London with my 11 year old daughter and my mum. Firstly I want to say that the location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic and everything you need to get to the sights of London is right outside the front door. The hop on bus tour is available from the bus stop on the corner and paddington train station is 2 minutes away.
The area is full of restaurants from Mc Donald's to Bella Italia or fish and chips. There is also shops and other restaurants that are all lovely.
The reception worker when we checked in was very pleasant and was helpful with our bags, however on our first night of the stay we returned to our room and was met with a strong smell of cannabis coming from the above floor (we was in room 15) the smell was so stronge that during the night my daughter who as asthma was coughing and had a restless night. The following morning I went downstairs to report it and a Chinese lady was there when I told her what had happened she didn't really look surprised about what I was saying and told me she would speak to him (whomever he is I dont know but she didn't look surprised when i reported it). The next night it happened again but not as bad however this made our stay alittle unpleasant.
Also in room 15 for a triple room it's like a shoe box and the toilet and shower is ridiculous there is absolutely no room at all and to be fair didn't feel very clean, and we probably could of got past that but the sewage smell that came from the sink and the toilet was unbearable, the smell came everytime the sink plug was left out of the flushed handle was left open and again didn't feel very hygienic. We was also told that there was no house keeping but if we needed anything just ask however if you are paying just under £400 for a 3 night stay that did not include breakfast I would expect house keeping especially someone to come in and leave fresh towels and toilet paper and to empty the bins but I also had to ask for that to be done.
Would i stay here again or advise people to.... If the sewage situation was sorted out and house keeping was apart of the daily routine absolutely
For location absolutely for comfort not really and again it's such ashamed because the building is so wonderful.

The only thing good about this this hotel is the location, which is a short walk from Paddington Station. Everything else was dreadful. The check in process was quick, but we were never asked to show ID so anyone could of said my name to check in. The cleanliness of the room was questionable, the window didn’t lock and window panes were half heartedly glued together. The window would only stay open if you propped it open with a door hinge that was screwed into the frame. The pillows felt as if they were sold pieces of foam, and the bed was rickety. The shower was tiny with minimal water pressure in the shower, and the cups had a visible layer of dust/dirt in them despite being upside down.

The hotel room was basic but the beds were clean and comfortable.
Heating was good and we were able to turn it off when it wasn’t needed.
It was impossible to keep the sash window open as it just kept falling down so we needed to put a cushion under it to get some fresh air in the room.
The shower room was a real let down.
The toilet seat kept moving every time you sat on it.
I did tell the receptionist about this and she said she would get it sorted out.
The small bottles of shower gel and shampoo were filled with water so we asked for some more and these were okay.
The shower base where the doors are fitted, was absolutely disgusting.
It needs a complete overhaul.
We managed to use the shower and as we were only having a two night stay did not bother to make a complaint but thinking about it , we should have done , so it could be cleaned properly for the next guests.
Breakfast still not being served since Covid but not a problem as lots of coffee shops around the area.

Our double room was quiet and clean. The owner, Mitra, was very friendly and accommodating. Within short walking distance of Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens and Paddington Station, with several dining options just a street away, the Falcon Hotel is a good choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Great location, basic no frills hotel.

It is right beside Paddington overground train and subway as well as right beside main bus stops. There are a few cafes and restaurants nearby as well as lots of convenience stores and souvenir shops.
Considering the location it was so quiet at night apart from when bin lorries came at 1am. You can also hear guests talking in other rooms and the sounds of footsteps on stairs but at night it was quiet. The room wasn't overly warm either even with the radiator turned up fully although there was an extra blanket available which helped. The bed was also very comfortable for a single.

There's free WiFi but as I was on 6th floor I didn't get the signal there. The single rooms on this floor would not be suitable for a larger sized person. The showers are extremely small and the shower pressure isn't great and some of rooms have a separate toilet which I couldn't actually close the door as my knees were literally touching the door! The rooms do have coffee and tea making facilities.

The hotel is formerly an old Edwardian house and faces the beautiful Norfolk sq gardens.
If you are looking for a bed for the night with the basic necessities then I would recommend this hotel. The staff are also so friendly and accommodating. There is a phone in the room if you need to speak to a member of staff. If you are looking for larger rooms and toilets and cannot walk flights of stairs then it is important to read all this information before booking this hotel.
The main thing I liked about this hotel as a solo traveller was that I felt very safe due to the staff and also the key access.

Raifel Pena was wonderful helping getting us situated, making reservations, and ensuring our stay was the best possible. Please ask for him when checking in to ensure a great experience.
We had a party of 6 which was not easy to make dinner reservations for and Raifel made sure that we didn’t deal with any of the difficulties.

Could not ask for a better location, unfortunately the fun stops there. Forget about trying to contact the hotel on their website, they just NEVER reply back. Our room was on the first floor, great only one flight of stairs, but hang on, the only window in the room faces directly to the terrace smoking area, meaning anybody smoking in there blows their filthy habit in our faces plus no privacy either, they can just look in on us. No doubt we complained and the receptionist that took our complain made good on her promise to stop the smoking during our stay (which was appreciated) But why does it has to be like this??
On return home we noticed our credit card was charged the first day fee without our knowledge before we even checked in, (as if we did a cancellation) why?? Again I am still waiting for an answer from their website contact. I know they will not reply.

Hello, I'm not sure what you mean but I did book your hotel through Orbitz. Everything I wrote in my review is true, I have all the email receipts to back it up. The Orbitz staff were trying to get in touch with you for several weeks before you finally refused to refund. If you're "dismayed", perhaps you should not charge people such heavy fines for cancelling a reservation months in advance.

What time is check in?
Answer from FalconHotel
London, UK
check in is usually at 1 p.m. earliest. If your room is ready before that time you will be welcomed to go into it. If not, you may leave your luggage with us, register and check in but return later to pick up the key. Hope this helps. PS Check out is 10:30 a.m., half an hour earlier than most hotels because we clean rooms better than others and therefore take longer!
