This was overall a very positive 2 night stay. Each of the 3 reception staff we interacted with were all excellent, friendly, helpful and positive. On check-in, an upgrade was provided as a Platinum IHG. The room was very large by London standards. The room was on the side of the hotel and was very quiet considering the convenient location. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, the bathroom was just starting to shows its age in places, although better than 99% of hotel bathrooms. It was a little disappointing that they were not providing any form of breakfast service, especially now in tier 3, getting breakfast elsewhere is more challenging. Already booked for next trip in January.
Firstly, the rooms are very big and spacious and the king size bed is really comfortable too. Consdering how big the shower it is not very powerful. The problems started when the room next door got back and started making a lot of noise. We flagged this to reception but they seemed to be scared of this group of people and were not willing to do anything about it. We were kept up for most of the night and the reception had the audacity to call our room at 6:30am asking if we could be quiet as they had a noise complaint!!! I voiced my opinion to the receptionistt this mornin who could only apologise for her incompetent collegue but said there was nothing more she could do. At the very least, emply security so you can enforce action when guests are being overzelaous and noisy!
Stayed for three nights, weekend break with my wife. Exceptional Covid related precautions, probably the best we’ve seen. All reception staff were so friendly and helpful, always greeted with a smile. Room (executive) was spotless, bed very comfortable, really good sized room and very quiet. Due to the current climate, towels etc changed on request, actioned immediately, really cannot fault the staff that work here. Complimentary chocolate, water and soft drinks in fridge appreciated. Would return 100%
A 2 minute walk from Aldgate and a 5 minute walk from the tower of London. Plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The room was modern with a comfortable bed and a walk in shower. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. We asked for a refresh of the minibar, tea, coffee etc each morning and replacements were ready within an hour. Wouldn't hestiate to stay there again.
We stayed for 4 nights in August 2020. The location was great close to the Tower of London, Whitechapel and Brick Lane, convenient for the tube all over London. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The size of the room was great, the bed was large and comfortable. The COVID restrictions made us feel safe, all the staff wore masks, no reusing of pens in the reception, lots of hand sanitiser and the maid did not clean the rooms unless requested. The price was very fair for London and we will use this hotel again in the future.
