This was without a doubt the worst hotel stay I have ever had. Abysmal customer service and cheap and disgusting facilities. Let me explain. We were booked for a long 9-night stay at this hotel. My mood soured instantly the moment I started interacting with the people working at this hotel. At check-in, I was greeted by a completely disinterested person from reception. No 'welcome' or 'how was your trip'. Just someone who is miserable doing the job and more than happy to share her misery with guests. Red Flag #1: THIS HOTEL WILL NOT CLEAN YOUR ROOM. This hotel never bothered to ensure that our room is made up on a day to day basis. Over time, heaps of towels and trash started to accumulate in our room. Disgusting. Despite us notifying reception and management numerous times and being promised that our room will be cleaned regularly ("every other day"), each day we returned from our day in London to find the same dirty room. On top, the front desk team became increasingly unfriendly and confrontational. These people could not have cared less about this situation or trying to fix it. All they do is give you fake promises ("Of course we will clean today") and blame other people ("It's the housekeeping department's fault"). To be fair, one night shift supervisor assisted us cleaning out the room and bringing us fresh towels on one occasion. She also gave us a couple of complimentary perks to rectify the situation. This was literally the only person at the Dorsett who understands and cares about customer service. Red Flag #2 THIS HOTEL IS LOUD AND ROUDY ON THE WEEKENDS. EXPECT DRUG USERS. Be aware that during the weekends (and during the week as well, although to a lesser extent) the hotel bar (Jin Bo Law) turns into a bona fide nightclub. To be clear, this is not the type of welcoming night lounge or hotel bar where one goes to have a nice drink and engage in pleasant conversation. No - this is a loud, roudy place with an awful atmosphere filled with rude and aggressive people. There are also masses of intoxicated party goers gathering in the lobby on the weekends waiting to take the elevators up to the bar. Pass through at your own peril. Apparently this hotel also has a problem with DRUG USERS. The elevators show signs that drug use will not be tolerated. Not sure about you but I have never encountered such signs in any other hotel I have stayed at. The fact that such notices are posted at the Dorsett suggests that these issues exist there. Red Flag #3 AWFUL, AWFUL GUEST SERVICES On departure day, we asked the hotel whether we could store some luggage for the rest of day. The girl we were interacting with informed us that only two items per room could be stored. Well, we had two small suitcases and three smaller tote bags so we asked whether that could be accommodated. Instead of showing any empathy or "let me see what I can do" attitude, this girl simply held a sign into our faces saying only two items can be stored WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY LOOKING AT HER PHONE. We felt angry and humiliated by this girl's rudeness and "I do not give a s h i t attitude." We ended up carrying around two heavy bags that the Dorsett would not store throughout our last day in London. Miscellaneous: 1) Our mini fridge did not work. 2) Rooms are tiny. Our superior double room is stated at 22 sq.m. I highly doubt that the room was that size as it only provided space for our double bed. There wasn't even enough space for a second bedside table or small chair. Do not be fooled by the adverts which are most likely embellished/false. 3) Aldgate area is sketchy af with many weird people hanging about. Bottom Line: Do not stay here and waste your hard earned cash on the Dorsett. Many other options at a similar price point exists and you are well advised to stay somewhere else. We will certainly never ever stay at anything named Dorsett ever again.

The hotel and staff were fantastic, the receptionist was so friendly and chatty all three days, they looked after our luggage prior to check in and after check out. The room was great and the bathroom was stunning. It felt very comfortable there. The location was perfect being next door to the tube station so perfect for travel. The only issue was the roof top bar. Yes the view was fantastic however the staff up there were absolutely awful. They treat it like it’s some sort of vip club and that they don’t really want you there. Very short and unapproachable. It’s a shame the staff up there are not the same as the rest of the hotel.

They did not clean our room, or refill the coffee in three day stay. we don’t like the view of the office building next door, the location was ok, but much better to stay near trafalgar square if I had known, that is where I would have paid the extra money. They offered some guests food voucher, but not us. Overall adequate, but not recommended.

Amazing hotel, located right next to the Aldgate tube station which is perfect for travelling. We had a room on a high floor which boasted some good views of London - the bed was comfy, the bathroom was too a high standard and finish. We visited the Jin Bo Law sky bar on our first evening and that was incredible - the hotel really has a lot to offer. It is close walking distance to Tower Bridge, close by to local amenities which is useful. The price is amazing considering the location and standard of the hotel. The staff were kind, considerate and very welcoming. I would definitely rebook this hotel in the future.

Overall booked as a city getaway as we can’t get to Paris until next year and wanted to spend some quality time together. Got a good deal on a third party website. Hotel is in a good location about 10 mins walk from Tower of London and tower bridge. It’s also right next to a tube station which is direct to kings cross. And it’s also a couple mins walk from another tube station. So very happy with that. However hôtel left very much to be desired and didn’t have much warmth or a spark in how they interact with guests. Check in was very quick and efficient however was very abrupt, not much information is given to guests besides the fact you aren’t entitled to room cleaning etc due to Covid. Now I have travelled abroad during Covid and have had room service and house keeping so not sure what the excuse for this is with restrictions lifted etc. Also you have to pay a security deposit of £50 on top of their prices also which was a surprise as nothing had been mentioned. Room was ok, a little disappointing in the fact that we didn’t really get a view and it was quite small. We also was given a disabled accessible room which isn’t an issue however it wasn’t cleaned very well. A dirty mouldy coke bottle cut in half was left in our drain I saw this when I removed the make shift plug as the shower flooded very easily. Also the rainfall shower built into the ceiling was rusty and stained and it didn’t work. Water spurted out at different directions and only a few of the holes let water through. Bed was comfy. Yes room is only really to sleep and wash in however from a 4 star hotel I expect better standards. Would’ve complained but we were only there for 3 nights and with the welcome we got I didn’t think we’d get very far. No acknowledgement to my birthday on our trip also not asked about feedback or if we enjoyed our stay upon leaving. Staff aren’t friendly and don’t seem to care too much. Also very vague about when I’d receive my £50 back. Not for the sky bar. Would be lovely if we could’ve even got in. Fully booked and no priority to hotel guests. Shame. Also it’s not very nice to come back to your room every night to be greeted by a bouncer and a line of drunken people waiting to go into the skybar taking up a majority of the lobby. Guests can access their room by tapping cards in the lift but some people who aren’t guests managing to get onto other floors. Overall I’m quite disappointed for the star of hotel and the price. I wouldn’t of paid full price for this place. I’m happy to have had a discounted rate. Would’ve booked a premier inn if I’d have known as this was meant to be a treat. Main focus of hotel is the sky bar sadly and not the guests. Choose elsewhere in London.
