this is a horrific hotel, i made a reservation and now have covid. i called for a refund which i would have expected from ANY decent hotel. Amal the reservations supervisor on the phone told me to send my covid result and he would refund me. he has then changed his story to 25%. this is a hotel who would actually encourage a covid infected traveller to come to their hotel. they clearly DO NOT CARE about the health and safety of their guests. do yourselves a favour folks DO NOT stay at a hotel that has this attitude to guests safety. to say that i am shocked at this is a huge understatement. i find this disgusting.
Very very compact room, better suited to a solo traveller rather than a couple but it had everything we needed and within easy reach. The room was very clean and in a great location. Desk staff were very helpful, especially when we requested additional pillows.
Abominably expensive. One is clearly paying for location only, which is great. Checking in was a not a great experience. The four staff members behind the desk were distracted and unbothered, and despite wearing their formal work clothes, appeared scruffy and unkempt. Especially one who was laughing and chatting with his mate (a man unrelated to the hotel,) who also passed something to him in a secretive and suspiciously underhanded way. It was clear by the slight smirks from the other staff members that they had noticed that I noted transaction. Whatever it was, it was completely unprofessional. There was no offer to show me to my room, or help with my bags. As per my booking email, I booked the "Small Double Room without Window" which I feel is quite misleading. Especially as there is now no listing with that title in the Room Types section. I expected a small room, but was shocked by just how tiny it was. The listed Nespresso machine was also non-existent. It says it does not fit large luggage bags, but I would include medium-sized luggage in that too. Small bags like backpacks, duffels, or laptops bags would be more suitable. Having a carry-on suitcase, you will not be able to leave it open as you won't be able to open the door. If anything, the door should open outwards. It is not suitable for those with claustrophobia. I also had to use my phone light to find the light switches in the morning. The bed was not made up neatly, with parts of the mattress showing. The pillows looked fluffy, but in order to get any kind of support, I put them atop one another and added my airplane support pillow underneath. More appallingly, I had to clean the bathroom floor myself because there appeared to be what I can only assume was dried urine. The sticky substance flowed from the toilet to the other end of the bathroom. I would also suggest some sort of breakfast be included. The bar/restaurant is crowded and rowdy, blocking the reception desk. If it was a possibility, I would ask for a refund. …
Hotel has a nice feel, but very compact room, 409, only one side if the bed to get in and out, very dark room, although we had a window, which is overlooked by offices. Neither of us slept well, bed was too hard with too soft pillows, the street lights come above the curtains and it’s a very hot room. Cocktails in the bar, however, are amazing.
If you are a single traveller like I am & need a good location & a place to sleep & shower this is ideal. I was there March 12-19 2023 The room I had was a single bed, no windows & had a private washroom with shower. It was very clean and well lit. The shower is really modern & it had a hair dryer and nice soap in dispensers for showering. The doors are so heavy and secure. The rooms are above the bar/ lounge area & I could not hear any noise from my room. It was always packed with people every night. They have larger rooms and beds but keep in mind it’s the bed and shower but also nice TV and a table to out your bag. Also has some hangers to hang on back of the door. Nice lighting and the heat control was good. If you are going with more people definitely get a bigger bed and some of the rooms have windows The only negative thing about the bed is that the mattress was too hard for me but the staff gave me some extra pillows without hesitation & that made sleeping on it more comfortable. You can’t beat the location as it’s a block from Soho Square & 7 mins walk to Leicester Square tube station which is a 40 min tube ride from Heathrow Airport. If you like a 24 hour place to party then Soho area is ideal. Unfortunately the tube was on random strikes 2 of the 7 days I was there so please make sure you check the UK news about future tube strikes which are to continue all year. This of course is not the hotels fault but I just wanted to share this so you can plan. I had to take a lot of Uber rides but all of the drivers were helpful & nice. I didn’t try the bus service so look into that also when planning your travel. I would highly recommend this hotel. I’m not sure why a lot of the reviews were not positive but I definitely didn’t have any issues & if I ever want to visit Soho I just would chose Mimi with no hesitation. I have uploaded some pics so I hope this review does help ❤️ from Vancouver 🇨🇦 …
Absolutely beautiful room, very luxurious looking with a lovely deep bath. Loved everything about the hotel, so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic location, right in the heart of everything. A little noisy outside but no fault of the hotels and you are in Central London. Will definitely recommend
2nd floor windowless room for over £200/night booked via a 3rd party website, so that bit is understandable. Place smelt nice. Location is great. Bar area is Insta friendly, which sadly meant this area was out of bounds for anyone who's not that bothered about all that faff, and just wants a simple beverage, walked out of there having waited 10 minutes for acknowledgment of my presents, whilst some Insta unit was getting a giant pot of tea. The room measured 6m2 on the approved planning documents, but the as-built internal layouts differ slightly from plan, this needs to be investigated, for some very serious concerns regards guest safety. The internal door requires two people to open, once this has happened, one person can enter the room, close the door behind them, to then allow the other person to enter, with assistance from the person already in the room. Means of escape is a huge concern due to the weight of the door, it has no electrical/mechanical assistance. This is probably another oversight by the Building Control process, which was probably an approved inspector who may not have fully inspecting buildings at completion/operation stage, and no regular hotel safety inspections, as that's not a thing in the UK, just the lift car. The room is mechanical heated/cooled by one ceiling mounted fan coil. The heating was not operational so the unit was switched off to maintain a cold 18 degrees for the evening. Make up air is then a concern. There are exhaust vents, but no sign of make up air, so the room overnight becomes a real hazard of carbon monoxide. Upon waking at 4am perhaps I was starting to suffer the effects of oxygen starvation, I was forced to shower, towels threadbare with other peoples hair in them, then I tried to work in the reception area, as 6m2 doesn't offer much working space. Sadly, reception is manned but not in use. Departed hotel at 4.45am to work from my favourite local cafe on Wardour Street, which fortunately opens early as part of their agreement with the London Taxi Drivers Association, so I was saved from the elements, warm and could get fed and watered at that hour of the morning. LUL does not operate until 5.30am so I was then forced to walk to London Bridge to commence my day early at 6.30am. Not the birthday evening away I'd had hoped for sadly. But you learn from your mistakes. Seeing other reviews, and checking ownership both operator and landlord, it seems that this is not a concern to the operator and I wish them every success until such time as someone, god forbid, get hurt or injured in what I think could be a danger to the guests.…
If you stay here, make sure you bring the same credit card with you that the room was paid with. We were bought a stay in London as a Christmas present, including the hotel, which was fully pre-paid. When we tried to check in they wanted to see the original credit card, which of course we didn't have as it was a present. The reception staff were very off-hand saying that was the hotel policy as we might have found the credit card in the street ( but then we would have had the card on us!). An offer to provide our own credit car, in case we incurred any extra expenses(and to prove who we were) was dismissed as not being acceptable (why not?). Ditto an offer to show photo ID. They were totally intransigent and in the end we had to pay the fee again with our own credit card and they refunded the original card. What a palaver and leaves a sour taste in the mouth.…
Friendly, convenient, superior room compact but fabulous, superior bedding, great bathroom loved it! Easy for accessing London by foot, bus or tube. Bar area lovely, made to feel very welcome. Overnight stay with friend. Definitely recommend.
I am a big fan of a big bed in a small space. The bed linen is if a very high quality, and there are plenty of towels. A little work space was useful as were hooks to hang clothes. Lots of mirrors too. Minus is beautifully decorated and oozing class in all its features. The desk guys are beyond welcoming and helpful.
