The Express by Holiday Inn Liverpool has been developed within the Britannia Pavillion, Albert Dock. A group of 19th Century Grade one listed warehouses, made entirely from cast iron & red brick. The Albert Dock is now the largest group of Grade One listed buildings in the UK and as such the Express by Holiday Inn Liverpool has retained many of the original features. Today the Warehouse has been beautifully renovated and now offers 135 bedrooms, which offer choice and flexibility to business and leisure clients alike. All rooms feature Wi-Fi, modem points, direct dial telephones, power showers, hairdryers, tea/coffee making facilities and fully interactive colour TV's showing Sky TV & Pay Movies. Our conference rooms can accommodate up to 35 delegates and also have their own unique decor. Also located in The Albert Dock are numerous quality restaurants and bars all within a minutes walk. Be sure to book a table at weekends. We are located just five minutes walk from Liverpool's vibrant town centre where you will find one of the busiest and friendliest nights out in the country. The hotel is situated opposite the New Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre.

What a lovely location! Great view from my room across the Albert Dock to the Liver Building. Welcoming, helpful staff and a comfortable good sized room with everything I needed for a short stay. Breakfast wasn't the best, but the overall value for money for a B&B stay was excellent. I'd stay here again just because of the position so close to attractions.

Was very disappointed upon arriving here to find that all 6 disabled spaces were taken up by cars not showing a blue badge. Complained to Patrick on Reception and he was extremely helpful. Came outside with me and opened up another parking bay and helped myself and another lady to park. What a lovely, very helpful young man, a credit to the hotel! All staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are huge, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very well organised and had lots to choose from. I do wish other people would try and be a bit more considerate, very noisy early hours of the morning and woke my daughter and I up, not the hotels fault.

Negatives: As Steve H put so eloquently in Sept 2021, the breakfast is probably the worst we have ever had in a big chain hotel.......it really isn't worth getting up early for and I would rather pay extra for a decent brekky! The hot offering was devoid of any flavour, the continental offering (consisting of 'chewy' croissants and only marginally better muffins), was also the worst we have experienced. The bread was Iceland's own brand and not enjoyable, even toasted.....also, you had to put it through the toaster at least 3 times to get anything that resembled toast! The rooms are very dark and dingy and can get too warm - it was only on the 2nd day that, after asking the cleaners, we realised the windows do actually slide open! I had tried and given up on day 1 as it felt as if the window would have fallen out as it was so stiff and obviously not opened for some considerable time. As others have mentioned, the view would be much improved if the outer windows were cleaned at some point. The shower was also very poor, with low water pressure and no extraction for the steam. Positives: the hotel is ideally situated, our room having a lovely view of Albert Dock (all-be-it through very dirty windows). The beds and pillows were comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would we stay here again......probably not!

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I'm disappointed to hear you did not enjoy the breakfast, I will pass on your comments to our breakfast team so we can make some improvements. With being a Grade I listed building we are limited to the lighting in the room as most of the rooms still have the exposed brickworks and original features in the rooms. We do also have a 24 hour reception team that can be contacted at any time to resolve any problems during your stay. Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all comments so we can continue to make improvements.

We were greeted like old friends and bearing in mind we had not been to Liverpool before great. The location was superb, overlooking the river Mersey and close to all the attractions. It’s not far from the iconic Mersey Ferry made famous by Gerry and the Pacemakers and very handy for the city bus tours.

Holiday Inn Express, Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool. Truly excellent, professional and helpful staff, nice room and a great view of the dock. Seriously, up there with the best. Only one negative, in my opinion: Breakfast... which begs a question or two: Where does one buy eggs, sausages, bread and, to an extent, beans with absolutely no flavour, whatsoever? Do you specify "devoid of any flavour" or is it chemically removed, in house, before cooking? Seriously... why? I have eaten some 'rubbish' food in a few poor restaurants around the world, during my life, but this breakfast wins hands-down as the worst ever! Sorry, but the food was rubbish!! Great hotel, great staff.
