I am giving this hotel a full star rating. Yes it's tired and in need of redecoration (whichooks like is being started), and the lift wasn't working whilst we were there. HOWEVER I judge on the staff, food and overall experience which was exceptional. The hotel was clean, rooms comfortable and well equipped. Not bothered that housekeeping is currently suspended due to covid additional supplies we're readily available from reception. Entertainment was spot on and the singer/comedian on Tuesday night was brilliant we laughed so much. The food really was exceptional great menu choices, very well cooked and presented, piping hot and breakfast choice was great and food never ran out. Last day I opted for the steak and eggs at breakfast £3 supplement, chef Andy came out to check on my preferred cooking way and again after to see whether I'd liked it. Andy you should be very proud of your talent you clearly cook with skill and a desire to please your customer. My brother was a chef so I do know what I'm talking about. Without exception I found all the staff to be pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Know I've gone into a lot of detail but I've read some poor reviews about this hotel and my experience has found them to be groundless and very wrong in my opinion. Would have no hesitation to come here again.

We had booked this room 3 weeks in advance, we booked in and advised that the lift was not working. The lady didn't ask if we had any mobility problems or if we required help with bags, and we were on the 3rd floor. We are both quite fit as we both work in schools that have plenty of stairs but I had to admitted it was a hard climb with bags. Looking at previous reviews the lift problem has been going on for some time. As these rooms are not cheap between £80-£90 it needs sorting. The room itself was cold and very tired looking and the curtain was hanging off the hooks. We complained about the lack of lift, the cold room and the curtains. She apologised and said the heating should have been put on, the room was warm when we returned and the curtain sorted but unfortunately that was short lived as it came off again when I drew them back in the morning. There is a car park but it was full so we had to pay £12 for 24 hours. Sorry wouldn't return not worth the money.

We've just returned from 4 dayscandv3 nights at Liberty's. It's a lovely hotel within a 10 minutes walk from town. We booked bed, breakfast and evening meal but didn't have the breakfasts. A lot of people said the brekkie was very good though. The hotel is lovely, clean and the staff are excellent. Our room 106, had a sea view, it was large and warm but unfortunately was over the concert room downstairs!!...Nice big comfy bed and big duvet so we slept well. On Tuesday night we had an excellent entertainer Paul who was very good. Reception staff are very helpful an efficient. The hotel is having problems with the lift not working and older people ( one lady was 94) having to go up and down several flights of stairs...not recommended. We booked evening meals....the menu had a merit, fish or vegetarian course...which is good but the meals could be a bit warmer. All in all we would book again, this being our first time but I'd recommend phoning about the lift first.

Booked a weekend break to celebrate my friends birthday. Had stated we had mobility problems and said we were bringing a mobility scooter. Got there to find lift broke and it had been broke for quite a while. We were given a room 3rd floor right at back. Endless passageways to negotiate never mind the stairs. Once upstairs we had to rest for an hour or more just to summon up strength to down again. Missed evening meal first night as we did not want to have to deal with the stairs yet again before meeting up with friends for drinks. When we got back was informed there was no place to put mobility scooter on charge, so had no choice but take the battery up to room to charge and put scooter back into the boot. Had a very sleepless night as bed was like concrete.Went to breakfast day 2, was ok for a buffet, my friend could not manage the stairs again so I went up to room for battery and proceeded out for a few hrs. Once back we felt trapped as the stairs were taking a toll on us both. The evening meal was terrible, the crust on the pie was as hard as the bed, the insides were dry and inedible. I went out for a while after the meal but my friend felt so hurt they could not manage the trip out. Next morning we left immediately after breakfast despite being booked for another night, the beds and the stairs had made this a trip from hell. Never again.

Arrived on the Thursday for a two night stay and was given room 105 by a very friendly receptionist. Was surprised how large the room was. Well decorated and warm with lots of wardrobe space, tea and coffee facilities, toiletries and a hair dryer.Best of all was a spectacular view of the Irish Sea. Evening meal consisted of three courses with plenty of choice. I stuck to the soup with a warm bun or pate followed by excellent chicken and beef dishes with a large selection of cheese and biscuits to finish off. The breakfast in the morning was equally good with fruit juice, cereals, yogurt followed by a self service buffet with a wide range of items. There was also a very good toaster which did the job in one go. The lad in charge was a very friendly chap and nothing was to much trouble for him to help everybody out. The best part of this hotel was the function room. A very large room with a large bar it looked like a proper show room and was well decorated. Both nights I was there the entertainment was two female singers who went down a storm with the audience. It was really a brilliant atmosphere. In summary although my stay was short I saw a lot of people make friends and then say their goodbyes which no doubt enhanced their stay. Situated near the North Pier the hotel is in a good location not far from the tower and other attractions. So give this hotel a try you will not be disappointed.
