Stay - 9th - 11th This is a real gem in blackpool. A firm favourite and we will be back. We visited from London for two nights as a stopover on the way to the lakes and it ended up being the highlight of our holiday. We stayed in the balmoral suite, which has a lovely sea view and is spacious but not cavernous. The hotel is appropriately grand yet dilapidated in the way an old Imperial seaside Palace should be. It’s well situated for walks on the sea front. The restaurant was excellent and not really advertised enough - the new menu is very impressive but not pretentious. It’s worth going for the dinner alone. It’s worth emphasising this as it’s quite hard to get a decent meal elsewhere in blackpool - this is by far the best dinner to be had. Breakfast is extraordinarily generous and very good. The bar is quite beautiful with its Art Deco ceiling but I think more could be made of it. Drink selection was a bit limited but other than that an excellent visit.

We stayed at this establishment on September 5th . Check in swift, paid 15 extra for a sea view , allocated room 410 , i can only describe this as an attic room , drab , tired decor. Breakfast ok , lift is a nightmare. Cold water flow into the bath is hopeless , although the over bath shower is ok !!! Bed ok. As many , many others have stated this ONCE GRAND HOTEL IS VERY VERY TIRED and URGENTLY REQUIRES A THOROUGH RE FURBISHMENT THROUGHOUT,
