just come back from a 5 day break at the georgian hollies which was quite pleasant. great location 5 mins from town centre, the tower, piers and tram stops. room was quite small but comfortable and was cleaned every day. staff were friendly and helpful. not much choice at dinner but what we had was ample and quite nice. evening entertainment each night with bingo, games and cabaret. would definately go back.
This Hotel has been great, the waiters (dave and natahsa) have been so accommodating for our dietary needs without hesitation ,the chef actually came personally to see if everything was OK & if there was anything else was required for myself , a very nice thing to do . I could well recommend their hospitality & friendly attitude to not just myself but to all guest's, thank you very much for a very pleasant stay.
First of all this is not a slight on the staff who were great , however I felt the need to review which i normaly dont do. The room , was clean and visited every day by cleaners, but so small you could lie in bed , open the loo door and have a pee without leaving the bed. We never expected much for what we paid so that was ok. But the meals, 1st night i had cottage pie which looked like a dog had been sick on a plate , wife fancied cheese cake so i ordered ice cream so she wasnt eating alone, this on 2nd on Nov we had xmas hats and crackers on table with a photographer interupting out meal, wanting a smile shot, Well wife got cheese cake and i got xmas pudding , no ice cream. Hey we all make mistakes, let it go. Next night although we filled out our evening meal on slip at breakfast menu, we both loved the idea of Banofee pie, well we 1st got soup with a skin on it, too long under a lamp i suspect and salmon encroute with cheese glue on top , again to long under alamp, in the end , we never got our banofee as there wasnt enough although we filled out the slip at breakfast, maybe a blessing…
The hotel and staff are great down side to it when trying to sleep its to noisy I was in a room at front think there need to improve on windows to at least lesson the noise down and no heating in my room hardly slept due to both reasons
Myself and wife stoped at this hotel for the weekend the hotel is very dated it’s not for me we walked in checked in at three we went in a public room it smelt appalling toilet smell coming into bar areas i thought because a lot of people there had not time to clean them we went for tea wasn’t for me we were going to stop for the music but the smell put us off we went up the road for a drink marvellous the room was ok clean bedding and sheets shower next day my wife had to tell the management about the pong the barman clean the toilet but still smelt the food was ok for what we paid i cannot really complain my own fault for going cheap next time will go to the viking our usual place in Blackpool.would not recomend
