We booked to stay Christmas night after having to cancel our cottage stay due to COVID. It couldn’t have been better. Warm comfortable, friendly staff especially the lovely receptionist. We had had an awful Christmas meal at another hotel, oh how we wish we had eaten here. They brought us soup and sandwiches on the house. Breakfast was really good, quality bacon, sausages and eggs.
We booked to stay from Christmas Eve until 27th, our stay from start to finish was the absolute best, the staff could not do enough for us, the room was cleaned throughout everyday. Our board basis was bed, breakfast and evening meal, speaking of food it was 5 ⭐ Christmas day was a blast it even snowed for a short while, even though covid rules and safe guarding was in place this didn't have any detrimental effect on our stay. I would recommend The Craig Manor without hesitation the memories of Christmas 2020 will be with the two of us for a long long time thank you so so much Lisa and Kenny x x x
We stayed at the Craig Manor yesterday for 1 nights stay. We arrived at 1.30pm and was able to check in early which was brilliant as it was raining and we wanted to freshen up. Receptionist very polite friendly and helpful. We were handed a voucher for some treats as we booked via the hotel itself. Room great size and clean. We used the treat upon our return from out shopping and were delighted with what came out, a hot chocolate and treats it was a very pleasant treat. Nice touch! We stayed for dinner at the hotel and everybody was friendly and very helpful. Hand sanitiser everywhere for you to use, and food seated apart from others it was great. Dinner was delicious ive attached some pics. We had blackpudding scotch egg and pate to start. And main was steak and ale pie and supreme chicken. We couldn't fit a dessert in. Breakfast time was a great window of 8-10 am and check out 11. Fantastic time window. Breakfast again was delicious nothing was to much trouble as we asked for extra toast. Will definitely be returning great location, 5 minutes walk either up to windemere or down to bowness great hotel. …
the hotel although a bit dated was very friendly, good breakfast, lovely lounge and bar area. rooms comfortable, cleaned to a high standard too, comfortable bed, warm room and all soap etc topped up regularly, free parking was a no us too
I paid for a very expensive room rate and not sure how this place calls itself a hotel , at best it’s a decent B&B, the breakfast is tip top and on the whole the staff are polite and helpful, however (whilst I really realise things are tough during this pandemic) the night staff do not sustain this. Rude is an understatement and everything is too much like hard work. Asking for ice develops into a running battle, asking to use the toilet escalated into a very rude discussion. They just want to leave and again I get this as we all have lives to get home too but trust me you do not want to pay for this underrated privilege. This is at 10pm. I honestly would not want them looking after my dog. No idea who is the manager, what to do in an emergency or how to escalate anything. In fact you are just on your own and it left a real bitter taste to what should be an escape to revamp the batteries. Avoid as a result of the the extremely rude receptionist who stomps around the hotel like a prison warden. She needs a major training course or a new career. Shameless of the lakes. …
