Having called in for drinks many times over the years, this was our first stay, early in December. We'd booked directly with the hotel and spoken with Chris who was very helpful. Having only been in parts of the hotel, we were so impressed when given a brief tour on arrival. I can recommend reading the history of the hotel which was built in the late nineteenth century and I believe took 5 years to complete. This was the first time I'd taken in he view of the hotel from the lake and it is an incredible structure. We stayed in a feature room overlooking the lake, what a fantastic view. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Considering the size of the rooms with their high ceilings, it was lovely and warm throughout and there was a roaring fire within a fantastic fireplace. The food was excellent and there's a separate dining room for visitors with their dogs which is such a good idea. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay for personal reasons but the staff were so understanding. I've just booked the boat house for the end of March, regulations permitting; I booked through Jess and remembering us from our last visit, she was a delight to deal with.…
Myself, my wife, son and daughter had a two night break here in between Christmas and new year. We booked on a family recommendation and so glad we did. The whole experience was fantastic. The main hotel is a typical Lakeland historic building full of charm and character. Stunning architecture and furnishings. We stayed in two rooms in the lake view house a separate building from the main hotel with private balconies with the most amazing un spoilt view of lake Windermere and the hills in the background. We had dinner and breakfast on both days in the hotel and it was amazing, great quality food freshly prepared and superb quality. We also took our German Shepard Alfie. The hotel could not be more dog friendly. When we went to our room there was, along with complimentary champagne a dog bed, blanket, bowls and a bag with hand made doggie treats in personalised with Alfie’s name on it. Lovely touch. The staff, all of them are a credit to the hotel. Very friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. They made our stay a real treat. Some reviews say the rooms are a bit dated and in need of a make over and I can see why some people would say that but don let that put you off. All the rooms are comfortable with everything you need in them and they are immaculately clean. I believe the hotel is planning a multi million pound renovation in 2022. I hope it doesn’t lose its charm or character. Langdale Chase gets a 10 out of 10 from me and I highly recommend a stay here wether a romantic couples break, family or friends. It will please all. Top hotel, top location, fantastic food but best of all the amazing staff. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟…
The hotel’s location is stunning, staff amazing, spotlessly clean. Food excellent. My husband and I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this is now our favourite. The staff are so friendly, professional and we can’t wait to come back. We took for the first time our two dogs who were given their own beds, towels, bowls and a bag of treats on arrival. Even in these difficult times the team made it possible to enjoy yourself and feel safe. We will definitely be booking again as soon as we are allowed to travel again
For starters, this hotel is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The staff are the kindest people you could ever meet and they remember you as a person instead of just a someone spending money. The hotel is brilliantly kept and lovely rooms. We got married just after Christmas (our Covid-wedding) and this was our gift from my family and what a gift it was. We seriously couldn’t fault a single thing about our stay, and the staff would do anything to accommodate the residents. The manager is kind and very helpful, just like the rest of the staff and they have a good work spirit. 100% will visit again and we didn’t realise that it is Dog Friendly, really enjoyed saying hello to all the pets staying at the hotel, so we will definitely take our own fury friends next time after lockdown. Thanks to all the staff for an unforgettable time! …
I came with my sister for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We were seated in the Terrace Bar where we had splendid views over Lake Windermere to the fells beyond on a cold but sunny day. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We had tiger prawn linguine and fish and chips accompanied by a beautiful chardonnay and followed with spiced apple cake. Everything was cooked perfectly and many thanks to the kitchen brigade for the surprise with my apple cake. This was my first visit to Langdale Chase but I will certainly return once the Tier system allows.
