Had a lovely stay at Sopwell again. Always a pleasure coming to visit, the staff Monica and Susanne in the Brasserie were fantastic and Barbara in Omboo made our evening dinner very enjoyable. Thank you to Sopwell and we’ll definitely be coming back to stay again.

Exceptional! We have stayed here before around 4 years ago and the place has got better. The cotton mill spa has undergone a refurb, as has the hotel and it looks great. The staff are amazing, couldn’t be more helpful. The breakfast was amazing, the quality of the produce and choice was exceptional. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for a spa stay near to us.

Staying for two days to completely relax. Had booked some treatments in the spa. I met with this lovely lady, Jennifer was to give me a facial. She had a lovely smile when she introduced herself. I followed her up to the treatment room. It was there that she worked her magic. She was absolutely fabulous. The facial was so lovely but the treatment on my neck was divine. Her hands worked like magic to relieve the tension. I would certainly book her again. Wonderful

Beautiful hotel - friendly staff. Only downside is very expensive. If you are coming for a spa break I would definitely recommend ‘The Club’ which is a more expensive spa which is stunning. If we didn’t pay for this I think we would have been disappointed with the regular spa and gym facilities. Would definitely recommend but have been to better spas which have been better value for money.

Today I went for a deep tissue massage with Amy in the spa and it was wonderful. Thoroughly recommended. Massages at the sopwell spa are on the expensive side but definitely worth it. It’s very peaceful and the massages are consistently good.

What a lovely hotel! My wife and I like to go away once or twice a year for the night without the kids and we've visited a number of Spa Hotels in the south such as Cowley Manor, The Grove and South Lodge. When we saw Sopwell House was 4* we presumed it wouldn't be quite as nice as these other hotels, but how wrong we were! It's a lovely hotel with an absolutely fabulous spa. The Club at Cottonmill is by far the best hotel spa facility we've been too. Lots of facilities, lovely indoor pool, outdoor hydro pools and lots of seating across 3 floors. The room, we stayed in 115 corner suite, was amazing. Recently decorated and refurbished to a very high standard. The meal in the Brasserie in the evening was ok, but the breakfast in the morning was again really good. How this isn't a 5* hotel we don't know! Maybe we had a lucky experience (I know reviews are mixed for this hotel) but in our opinion much better than The Grove which often gets the hype. We will definitely be going again, but next time we'll eat dinner in Omboo (asian fusion restaurant). No children there either... which is nice sometimes right?!!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Sopwell House Hotel, where we experienced exceptional service from waiter Freddie. His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor elevated our dining experience. Freddie's professionalism and warm hospitality truly made our visit memorable. I commend Sopwell House for having such a dedicated and customer-focused team member.

Horrendous and unethical behavior by SOPWELL HOUSE, marked by their lack of transparency and human touch. I purchased a £600+ gift voucher for a special stay, intended as a precious gift before the arrival of our baby. Before buying, I checked availability, and it was all fine. However, when we tried booking (you have to call by phone) our stay for the only time we could go (Feb-Mar), we were informed that no rooms were available now (surprise) and they also have refurbishments—a critical detail not disclosed at the time of purchase. Despite explaining our unique circumstances (including gestational diabetes, which they seemingly don't care about) and the impossibility of using the voucher at any other time due to the forthcoming arrival of our newborn, they refused to offer a refund, citing a non-refundable policy that fails to account for their lack of transparency or our situation. Efforts to resolve this matter through dialogue were met with rigid, robotic responses from an "executive" (another person that will not care about you), leaving us out of pocket and deeply disappointed. This experience has highlighted a concerning lack of empathy and flexibility, particularly for families facing special circumstances and pregnant couples. We hoped for a gesture of goodwill or at least a fair compromise, but instead, we've been left feeling undervalued and disregarded. It's disheartening to see SOPWELL HOUSE prioritize profits over people, especially in situations where transparency and understanding could have made all the difference.

Dear Mario, We are naturally disappointed to see that following your contact with the Hotel and all the assistance offered you have held firm on your threats of sharing negative social media reviews. As explained all voucher purchases are non-refundable and this is clearly detailed in the terms and conditions at the time of purchase. Please be assured that we do completely understand your predicament but the Hotel is almost fully booked on the limited dates you can visit. As a gesture of goodwill we made every effort to assist in alternatives to enable your wife to visit all of which have been declined by yourself. We are sorry that all our attempts to assist and offer alternatives have left you feeling undervalued and disregarded.

I was taken yesterday for tea at SOPWELL House for my 60th birthday yesterday. I felt compelled to write a review of the most beautiful afternoon tea I have ever partaken of. Ella and her staff were superb! Beautifully Laden trays of finger sandwiches, pastries and scones were bought forth from the kitchen and replaced when wanted by the most efficient and elegant team led by Ella who was to her team, an Angel and by the rest of us tea guests very quickly became an angel. She extremely quietly and expertly dealt with enquiries and bringing us the aforementioned truly gorgeous food. Under her kind genuine leadership nothing went wrong and tea was the most amazing dining experience I think I can honestly say, I have ever had! Different types of bread like tomato bread with a beautiful dill mayonnaise and tuna, an egg mayonnaise with maybe chives on olive bread. These different types of bread teamed with the respective filling were a triumph. They all came together to give us a the best glorious dining experience. These were followed by crusty scones with fruit or plain, wonderful Cornish clotted cream and a smooth rich red strawberry jam or conserve. Just the perfect scones with a lovely baked golden crust. It was bought out wrapped in fabulous damask napkins to keep them warm a long as possible. They were baked to perfection and were like like pillows of soft fluffy cooked dough inside. On the top layer of the silver layered top were little miracles of patisserie at its finest! Wonderful types of tea all served up in gleaming white China in a room that was decorated like fabulous conservatory. This was all with the lovely sound of happy people enjoying themselves. We were seated on a small raised stage type platform with four tables. One small family group with two small children and three parties celebrating milestone birthdays. One 50th, one 90th and my best friend and I with my 60th. Both groups were lovely and we felt able to share reasons we were there with a gentle laugh but not constantly under anyone else’s space. This is while Ella and her team of servers floated from table to table making sure we had everything we could possibly want. They were there but never made guests feel hurried and nothing was too much for them. Tables were very quietly cleared and fresh tablecloths and silverware replaced as soon as the guohad left the table. The food that we hadn’t managed to eat was placed into lovely boxes so that guests could take it home with them. They also presented me with a fabulous little chocolate cake dessert on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on it. It was delicious and rich. At either end of the occasion, we were escorted by the most lovely reception staff and front of house staff with old fashioned charm and manners that put a golden star in my special day. We would definitely think about going back. My friend is the general manager for a small but esteemed resort in the South-West of the country. Whenever we visit country houses for tea she can get a little lively if things aren’t as she imagined. At SOPWELL House, she said it was perfect. Thank you for a most memorable time From Ke’ala and Elinor
