Just back from a fantastic stay here and I’ll definitely be back. Wonderful food (dining menu was delicious and we had bar snacks and it may just be the nicest Eggs Benedict with PERFECT Hollandaise I’ve ever had!! Had fabulous service - staff are cheery, fun and can’t do enough for you! Jack was a delight at check-in and throughout our stay, Laura informative and jolly on check-out, Emily and Max were both brilliant servers - so charming. Rooms were immaculate so clearly the Housekeeping team work very hard. Had a great Spa treatment with Flo and was even surprised by how warm the outdoor pool was. Truly a gorgeous find! Amazing standards and an exquisite building. Well done to all and a huge THANK YOU!

Stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding reception here. Booked a junior suite for two adults and a teenager, the room had a king sized bed on the ground floor and then a double sofa bed on the mezzanine upstairs - a perfect layout for our needs. What we don’t realise until shortly before our stay when we got an email from the hotel, is that if you are using the sofa bed as a bed there is an additional charge per night - even though on making our booking I clearly made it for three people! Because we were attending a wedding we managed to negotiate this to £35 per night, but initially they asked for £70 per night and said it should actually be more than that as our daughter was over 11! The food was lovely and restaurant and event staff were very helpful. We planned to make the most of the spa but in the end didn’t use it at all. The hotel itself is beautiful, we looked in a number of bedrooms (had a lot of family here), and there were all beautifully decorated. The four stars rather than five reflects the fact that our room was not serviced while we were there - we had room service breakfast on the first morning and housekeeping arrived while we were still getting ready for the wedding. We explained we would be out within an hour and asked them to come back - which they said they would but didn’t! So that evening we got back to dirty breakfast plates still in the room. I mentioned this at checkout and the fee for using the sofa bed on the second night was waived. I don’t really think that makes up for the fact that I was stacking and tidying pots and plates before I went to bed! A truly beautiful hotel but sadly let down for us y this service, which is incompatible with a 5* hotel, or indeed any hotel!…

This is a truly beautiful place with lovely staff. I turned up yesterday evening to collect my husband after his day at the races. He had a wonderful transfer from the hotel and was finishing up with drinks with friends in the bar. It encouraged us to come back the next day for lunch with Pippa (our spaniel), as we found out it was dog friendly. We sat in the spacious bar/restaurant area and were offered a bowl of water for Pippa and an exclusive dog menu which was absolutely brilliant. Pippa is a fussy eater and she loved the Sir Woofchester's brand of fancy kibble and treats. We both had the haddock and chips (which was perfectly cooked). The lunch menu had hearty classics, plus a lovely selection of sandwiches and light bites, including tapas. I saw someone else have the buttermilk chicken burger which looked amazing! Kudos to the chunky triple-fried chips. They also do dog friendly rooms with dog beds and treats and there is a muddy paws dog wash station with dog shampoo and towels. Lots of walks around locally and the hotel is on extensive grounds. The two waiters at lunch looked after us and we will definitely be returning soon to stay overnight and enjoy an evening meal as well as the legendary breakfast!…

Had a lovely weekend at The Ellenborough Park Hotel. The room was comfortable and the food was lovely. Staff were attentive and friendly. Used the outdoor pool which I highly recommend. Bar manager Max and Kevin in reception were kind, friendly and helpful. We left some charger cables in the room and the hotel are going to post them to us. Will definitely go again.

This was overall an ok stay but there are areas which were so disappointing. The room was fine but the services downstairs definitely needs improving. Snacks ordered at the bar took a long time to arrive, it doesn’t seem that the staff ( which there were plenty of) were in any rush. We had sandwiches arrive after around 30 minutes and this was not just on arrival as it continued over the weekend. We booked dinner in the bar on the first night which was fine, nothing special for this type hotel. We booked the restaurant on the second night and met with the same menu, just a different dining room. Service was slow, we ordered wine and needed to pour our own as staff walked past tables oblivious. Two ladies at a table opposite needed to call staff to refill their wine glasses which should be a basic. On the final morning the restaurant was full for breakfast, staff apologised that we would need to go to the bar where there was seating. We didn’t mind this and sat in the area between the lobby and the bar. We had just been served breakfast and a couple arrived with a very large dog, he was served a bowl of water and it was the quickest service we’d seen all weekend! Whilst we ate the dog slobbered on water, barked constantly which could be heard everywhere and at no point did the staff or the dog owners try to stop this. We didn’t finish breakfast and took coffee to the sitting room where the barking dog could be heard. We did mention this on checkout and the receptionist refunded the breakfast, however she didn’t bother apologising as it seemed that accommodating the dog was far more important. If you are happy with waiting an age for service, no restaurant menu and barking dogs this is the place for you. The hotel is steeped in history in a lively setting , the room is ok but this establishment needs to up its game when it comes to service, the menu on offer and recognise that it’s not a cheap stay, so don’t treat guests as though they don’t matter. It was an ok stay, nothing special and not a place I’d return to.…

Short stay here to visit family in the area. Beautiful location, hotel is a really nice mix of historic buildings and modern facilities. Excellent friendly service from check-in, restaurant staff very good even though the hotel was busy for a wedding. Wish we could have stayed longer, will be back.

Our stay can be split into 2 with some really positive comments and some not so positive. Good bits first - the staff who we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful, David, thank you for sorting a room issue, Max for excellent service and attention in the bar and Lana and Louisa for the most wonderful massages for myself and my daughter. All other staff were the excellent but we didn’t get everyone’s name! - the food, both breakfast, lunch and dinner were well presented and very tasty. - rooms were clean - bed was comfortable - the toiletries provided are lovely - check out was quick and efficient Not so good bits - the “spa” area isn’t really a spa. It’s more a jacuzzi and a steam room with 4 sun loungers. It’s tiny. Though there is an outdoor pool it was far too cold to walk across to it which was why it was empty during our stay. The treatment rooms in the upstairs of the spa building are very nice though. Our massages were excellent. - we had an issue with our bed set up as I’d asked for twin beds on booking. When we checked in we had a double and I was told we would have to share a double as there was no other option. Once David the duty manager became aware it was sorted and my daughter was given a small room. We had a lovely overnight stay but it just wasn’t quite the spa day we had hoped for.…
