We stayed whilst attending an event at the Hilton. We were lucky to have a sea view newly refurbished room which was spacious and fresh. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. All the staff we met were friendly and eager to help and excited about the refurbishments.
Checked in online on honors app, chose room and hotel delivered exactly as selected. Room was perfectly cleaned. They had obviously ran out of the Hilton standard issue short black curly hairs I always seem to find in the bathroom as there were no issues at all, 10/10. Balcony room was worth every penny for an iconic view of Brightons seafront. Metropole bar service was a bit lacking, gave an order for coffee and was duly abandoned so went and ordered from bar myself. Other than that it was a near perfect stay. There are better hotels I'm sure, with less textured old wallpaper over painted with cheap magnolia, but for a Hilton stay this was as good as it gets. Pool was good too, apart from the 45 minute pre booking slots you have to endure to use it. I would stay here again, but having used the cheaper standard rooms in the past I would recommend anyone to avoid those and go for balcony rooms or superior seafacing ones anything less and you'll regret the expense.…
To call in AC is to only use the letters … sweltering rooms … can’t open a window … hotel under construction … poor fit out .. smashed my head in shower and had to seek medical care … tragically bad breakfast
Booked Hilton metropole a month before date of stay. Special stay with 80year old mother. With check in at 4pm decided to book the special offer 2pm late check out, breakfast and upgraded Wi-Fi so we could make the most of the time. Check in was quick and easy. Noted the building works but as we were not due to sleep in the hallway these didn’t bother us… got to the room and found the space quite nice… slightly dated colours (yellow wall, deep red Curtains, grey carpet) but the hotel is being upgraded so that’s ok. What was not acceptable was the defects to the room. The enamel bath had large chipped in at least 5 places, the basin was cracked in two places one of the cracks was black and very visible, the bedroom carpet had large brown stain possibly tea spilt, bath mat ripped, rubber non slip bath mat stained, shower pressure disappointing. On the first night I called reception to confirm the late checkout. I was further disappointed at the tone of the receptionist when she stated there is no late check out and I must be mistaken and she indicated I must have booked on an external site. I confirmed I booked directly with Hilton. She asked for proof of the booking which I emailed her. She then said they are too booked and won’t be able to offer the 2pm check out only 12 noon because she cannot see any proof there side. I said No….it was definitely booked and they need to check further. Few hours later A manager (Priyank) called at about 8.30pm…. I explained the situation again.. I explained this is leaving us with a very bad feeling of not being believed. Did they think we were telling lies? We’re we not the calibre of guests they wanted to believe? He carried out further checks and confirmed he can now see that I had made the booking……. Happy the manager finally did the proper checks but expected an apology. But none offered. Soo sad.. I really thought by booking with a name brand such as Hilton and paying good money for the second best room in the hotel my mum and I would have the best quality stay ever. This was not the case.…
Dirty walls, windows, paint coming off bathroom wood and inside bath tub, super rusty window hinges and can’t open bathroom window, no power sockets near bed, wood on front main door scratched out. Rust on room bin. Whole place very dated and poor maintenance. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone especially not for super high prices they selling it for. Terrible!
Went to this venue for their first drag brunch yesterday. A great show by fabulous drag queens with lovely food and good service. Can’t wait til the next one. Thanks to all involved for a lovely time.
Had a great time at the Drag Brunch on Saturday afternoon. Three brilliant drag queens entertained us while we were efficiently served Prosecco and a good meal. Would definitely recommend and cant wait for the next one!
Me and my 2 daughters stayed here for a family break for the weekend. We had stayed here before and was staying again for my youngest daughters 16th birthday. I had emailed the hotel in advance to see if they could do something nice for her birthday. I had no response so I thought, I later found an email in my junk emails! So I assumed they would leave a card or something in the room for when we got there. We had this request 4 years ago and they left came and a card as a surprise. When we got there, we were too early to check in to the room, but the receptionist checked my details. The booking was still in my married name, so I asked for it to be changed as I have now legally changed my name, she then asked if I wanted the credit card closed or left open for room charges. I asked to close it. All was fine. We went out and about and then returned when the time was for check in. We were supposed to get a text when the room was ready. 2 weeks later and I’m still waiting for the text!!!!! Anyway, at reception a new receptionist. I found out the changes I’d asked for earlier still were not done! We went to the room. Room was very clean and today. Well laid out. But nothing I noticed for my daughters bday. Ok no worries. The second day we went out for the day. We left our used towels on the floor for housekeeping to replace. My daughter went to the room later for a shower no clean towels. So used the one from the night before. After her shower at about 2pm. Housekeeping knocked. She asked them to come back later and she came and met us for a few hours out. When we got back the door to our room was open. All our belongings on show. Nothing was missing and we assumed housekeeping had been in and left it open to return soon. No clean towels and they did not return!!!!!! Someone then came at 6pm to clean the room again! That late yes!!!!! We turned it down but asked if she could replace towels. She did. I have filled in feedback form, no reply. Sim emailed hotel directly for the reply to just be about a broken door. Not what any of the issues were. I have replied but now ignored. Very disappointed and expected better. Will prob stay elsewhere next time.…
I have just stayed at the Hilton (Brighton) in a superior refurbished double family room. I was apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews however this hotel is excellent. Spotless swimming pool. Spacious clean rooms. Very modern interior. The staff are very professional and welcoming in the restaurant, check in desk and pool area. The breakfast is excellent. Large selection of food, cooked breakfast, fresh fruit and a pancake maker! I cannot fault this hotel one bit!!
What do you do in your refurbishment policy when you have a beautiful historic hotel with lots of windows facing the sea in a historic funky trendy sea based place like Brighton Remove all references to the sea and to the vibe that is Brighton by putting totally boring wallpaper and pictures on the wall And then when you have huge wonderful sea facing windows construct the windows, after the refurbishment, so that you can only open them a crack, maybe 3 inches What you want to do as a guest throw open the windows and get the whole sea experience This is a unique hotel right on the seafront But the corporate boring designers that are Hilton no doubt guided by health and safety police insist on windows you can open crack. Even though there are balconies below where you can go out on the whole balcony Incredibly disappointing refurbishment, Hilton I will be staying next door from now onwards…
