We have just come back from a perfect stay at this hotel. From start to finish it was wonderful. Hotel was beautiful, clean and our suite was stunning. Breakfast was outstanding, cooked to perfection by the wonderful Jane and served by the wonderful waiter John ( just kidding John your so much more than the Waiter). What makes this hotel so perfect are the owners John and Jane who are fantastic hosts, making you so welcome throughout your stay. Would we recommend this hotel 100%. Well Done John and Jane. Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Haytor hotel. We stayed in one one of the suites which was very Spacious and comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. This is our second visit, as we also stayed here for the first time last year. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, John and Jane have all the safety measures firmly in place, and on arrival you are informed of all the precautions that are in place, therefore ensuring that you can relax and unwind enjoying your holiday, knowing that you are in safe hands at this hotel. They have plenty of lovely comfortable garden furniture to sit and enjoy a glass of wine within the beautiful gardens in which both enjoyed. You are allocated a time slot for breakfast in order to maintain social distancing. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order by Jane and is served by John, and it absolutely delicious and by far the best we had in any hotel. All the produce is sourced locally and is top notch. The hotel is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the numerous bars and restaurants at the marina. The owners, Jane and John really are the most genuine, lovely couple that you could meet, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The same can be said for the young ladies that work here from housekeeping to serving your coffee. We both will be Returning next year again so a big thanks to you all for a wonderful chill out Holiday.

My Mom and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at the elegant Haytor Hotel. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by John who was on hand with tea and coffee. Closely followed by the lovely Jane’s amazing baking which was lemon drizzle cake. The perfect refreshments after a long journey. John and Jane set the tone for your visit as soon as you enter the building. They are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. It was Moms birthday when we stayed and they were so thoughtful. Mom bacon sandwich arrived with a birthday candle and serenade at breakfast. When we returned to our room later in the day there was a card and little gift on the bed. Such a kind thought. Jane’s breakfasts are lovely and really set you up for the day. John and the waiting staff making breakfast a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Housekeeping staff make sure your room is impeccably cleaned. Thank you to them! I cannot say enough about this lovely couple and their beautiful hotel. My only complaint is that we could only stay 3 nights! We didn’t want to leave! John and Jane, wishing a fantastic couple continued success. You so deserve it! You offer an amazing experience to your guests. A huge THANK YOU from us both! We hope to see you both soon!

We were fortunate to secure 5 nights of very hot week at the Haytor. Arriving mid afternoon on Sunday we were greeted by John who invited us to sit down in the lounge and enjoy a drink with some of Jane's lovely fruit loaf. This set the tone for the week with more of Jane's superb cooking for breakfast each day. Lovely thick, tasty bacon and proper toast (not pieces of hardboard that you get in some establishments) . And a wonderful, varied choice of food for breakfast...all very tasty and cooked to order. Evenings/late evenings sat on the terrace overlooking a lovely garden enjoying a drink from the bar and admiring the wood carving on the tree trunk. So peaceful. John and Jane really are the most superb hosts who always have time to talk and advise on local restaurants etc. We had a wonderful stay at the Haytor and hopefully we may get the chance to stay there again. Highly recommended.

Well what a fabulous welcome by owners, John snd Jane! Welcome drink on arrival without being asked. Lovely grounds on the hill a 5 minute walk into main town Torquay. Room airy, comfortable, clean and elegant. John and Jane took on a new venture just before Covid, we’ll they could not be more suited to the roles they took on. Customer service is at the forefront of all they offer and do. Breakfast cooked by Jane, better than many a 5* hotel I have stayed in. Hot, tasty and all local produce. A range of drinks in the bar is at hand, John stays up to make sure everyone gets a night cap before turning in, sitting and having a chat with each and every customer staying with them and knowing everyone by name, just wouldn’t happen in London. A range of fabulous restaurants offered in advance by them, ensured we secured a booking each night for a meal. To be honest just a fabulous stay, wish we had booked for longer than our two nights as just so comfortable and inviting. We will be back for more visits. John and Jane if you keep this up it will just go from strength to strength! Much deserved success is ahead! Jon and Lieza
