This is the third time we have stayed here the first occasion was not long after it had opened. This is a lovely hotel and we will stay again. However there were some issues on this recent stay: We had two rooms on the fifth floor 511 and 512 both had not been cleaned properly. One room had a muddy footprint in the shower and scum around the glass shower door. The other room we went to wash the mug before using it for the first time to find there was still highly visible tea stains on the inside and outside of the mug from the previous person. Both rooms had liquid stains on the surfaces near the kettle area and the wooden surfaces either side of the bed. This just looked like it hadn’t been cleaned with a spray or cloth from the previous person who had spilt drinks on the surface. Room 511 must have a water tank above the room. As in the early hours I thought there was heavy rain outside but it was just the water in the tank/pipe above. Also the windows in this room seemed to be different to when we’ve stayed on the lower floors as we could hear the HGV’s rumbling past on the main road. This hotel seems to have a high turn over of staff and they aren’t given enough training. The guy on reception when we checked in was friendly but kept saying he was new and didn’t know how to generate the room cards properly so ended up giving us four in total. He also made no mention at all about a precharge I found this out from checking my bank statement and seeing a £10 pre charge had been charged to my account for each room. They never give any reason for this! It didn’t happen the fist time we stayed. When we checked in they apologised for an issue they were having with the main entrance doors to the hotel which they could not close. This still wasn’t fixed by the following morning therefore the whole breakfast area and hot food was cold. Everyone had to huddle down one end of the ground floor away from the doors. The layout of the breakfast area still needs to be better. They make no use of the bar area which would make sense as a place to put plates/trays and cutlery. Instead plates and trays are under the toaster and you end up with a crowd of people around the toaster making it hard to keep covid safe to access things. A lot of customers were not wearing masks and the whole breakfast area was crowded. One female member of staff came out to replenish knives and forks, she wasn’t wearing a mask and proceeded to rub the corners of her mouth then carry on putting out the cutlery this isn’t hygienic. Overall these are all issues that can be improved with better management/better trained staff. This is still one of the nicest places to stay in High Wycombe. With regards to parking I find the carpark at the rear of the hotel is always cramped. Whereas the carpark at the front of the hotel is much larger and has the pay machines in the carpark. You just need to tell the staff you have parked at the front so they don’t try to charge you again for parking. Lastly there was a lot of door banging on the fifth floor. Some hotels we have stayed in put signs up asking other guests to be considerate this is something worth considering.

Hotel's Favorite
Checked in on the first day of opening and stayed for 2 nights. Whilst the check-in process wasn’t the smoothest I have ever experienced (in fact it took several visits to reception before I could eventually got into the room) the staff were brilliant and when you can see that they are trying their best, then you can’t ask for more. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, but the room was to a very high spec given the standard of hotel. The rooms to the rear of the hotel can be a little noisy as they back onto the M40. The gym is a good size and has cardio machines, free weights and weight machines and is very good given the standard of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with a variety of hot food, fresh fruit and the coffee was pretty good as well. The food menu is limited, but was okay and reasonably priced, but if need anything for the room, including a snack then there is a Waitrose supermarket next to the hotel. All in all a very pleasant stay, which was great value for money and on checking out I always ask myself the question ‘would I stay again’ and the answer is a definite ‘yes’

Stayed here for one night. Pros are that it is close to the motorway and has a large, airy, clean and spacious breakfast area which served a reasonable inclusive breakfast. It's also a bright, modern hotel. Cons are that the rooms, whilst comfortable enough, felt a little spartan in furnishing terms compared with other Hamptons I have stayed in, sporting a new minimalist design which felt a bit more 'budget' to me than other hotels in the chain. Also this recently opened hotel appears to have some housekeeping issues as the room had lots of scuff marks on the walls and was not as clean as it could have been. Additionally, parking is chargeable at £4 per night which might be a consideration for you given that other hotels nearby offer free parking.
