Very nice resort with all the bells and whistles. Our room was clean, comfortable and plush. Restaurants, bars and nice pool. Set on top of a small mountain with good views of the ocean and town. Not much to do in Mariveles so you might as well treat yourself to a stay at the Oriental.

I never expected this level of hotel in Mariveles. I was bracing for spartan accommodation given that it is in the province. However I was surprised to see a standard hotel with various facials rooms and wide spaces. There was even a fire dance and I live band the day we were booked. There was an initial hiccup during the second period because they were off-line and couldn’t access the booking app however it was quickly resolved upon very strong persuasion to the girl in front desk.

We chanced upon this hotel through an ad on social media and decided to take a weekend road trip. This hotel is actually nicer than the pictures show it to be, its pretty clean, service staff seem to be trying their best and they have nice facilities.

Its located on top of a hill, (Formerly known as the Hilltop Hotel) the downsides are, there really isn't much to do here, the nearest beach which we thought would be of walking distance was actually a pier, the one they recommend you to visit is Camaya Coast which is about a 30 minute drive away, (15-16km) if I recon. There's a grill and bar at night with live music on the cliff which was okay. The swimming pool is small and on the middle of some rooms in the wing so you don't get much sunlight. Walking around the hotel grounds there seems to be a lot of wasted space. I like that there was a lot of greenery in the back with a trail you can walk through, some gardens but they could have utilized some of the dead spaces for a pool or some sort.

The rooms are pretty spacious but no refrigerators, I asked and was told its only provided to the rooms where guests stay long term.

Food is pretty affordable at night in the cliff grill, the place where we hung out in the afternoon near the pool was pretty pricey and did not have too much of a selction. Local beers are pricey in the afternoon and half the price at night, they also serve imported beers and coctails. The breakfast buffet lacked choices and some of the usual breakfast staples, (Buffalo Wings for breakfast?)

The staff are very nice and pleasing.

All in all, if you have business to attend in the area this is the hotel to stay in, but for a getaway, its not really the best as its limited to what it can offer. Its very clean, I'd even say nice, but if youre looking for a beach you might have to look elsewhere.

Room was not clean. Mosquitoes every day and night that makes my sleep not comfortable, thanks to Baygon. WiFi was so weak in my room so I have to use my own broadband. Money is not worth. Water leak in the toilet which I believed it has been reported, perhaps the cleaner saw it everyday. I can't go to the backyard of my room as it was like a bushland. My solution was to early check out and stay in other hotel even i was planning to stay for more than a month. Today is October 10, 2022.

I used to stay here for around one month every year and its getting worst. Its nice to see pictures in their website but for me i would suggest to show the actual condition which is quite different so people will not be misled.

This hotel is badly neglected. Leaking ceiling, moldy odour and unlit hallway, The worst welcome desk and concierge area ambiance. Room was only ready at 3pm yet room amenities were still lacking. Our room was located in a separate building thus we hd to cross to the main building if we needed to use their facilities, we didn't have any issues with it until it rained as they didn't have a sheltered pathwalk. Worst, we had to go back to our room to call an assistance to get someone to usher us.

Surprisingly, this is still under 3star hotel but sadly to say that a family oriented Motel is much better than this plce.

On arrival the check inn staff were unfriendly.
All in all I found the staff lacked proper hospitality training.
Noisy box in the wall air conditioner
Dated furnishings
Poor tv channel options
The food was atrocious, we tried pizza and nachos - very poor!
Breakfast was poor - I’m a tea drinker and they didn’t have any. I asked for well done omelette it was runny on the inside.
Checked out after 1 night and prefer to drive back to Manila for quality accommodation.

False advertising and misleading photos online. The place is in total disrepair. Pool full of algae, rooms smelling like mold, unkempt grounds, broken and rusty inventory... really not sure where to start with all of the complaints I have about this place .... and I have barely arrived. Thank God we only booked one night here.

We had an amazing dining experience and staycation with The Oriental Bataan. This is one of our favorite hotels when staying at Mariveles Bataan. ❤️❤️❤️ It has one of the best sunsets- go to Forest Grill’s viewing deck. Happy to visit as well their VIP rooms- President’s Suite and Governor’s Suite

I am a frequent traveller. I seldom complain but this is way too much. This is the first ever hotel that charges their guest for request for extra pillow for P100 each. Requested for a bucket of ice and where again informed there was a charge as well. Had dinner at their Forest Grill, bill had charged us drink we didn't order. Breakfast coffee tasted like coloured water, charges for P150 if you order from their espresso machine, though the waitress was kind enough to give us free coffee when I called their attention about their coffee. As soon as we arrived, we had to request for our room to be vacuumed because hairs were all over the carpet and bathroom. The bed is hard. The staff lack warmth. The place is pretty nice though for a short getaway. BUT the staff and policies needs a drastic MAKEOVER.
