Very nice resort. Went in April 2022 lots of rain got nice days and some days it rained. A lot of rain at night time especially when going to supper. I had a Villa room ocean view was very big and nice and clean. In the morning I would sit outside and drink my coffee and watch people jogged on beach. All specialty restaurant very good. In the morning I would have breakfast at restaurant at the end of the beach by the villa section. Very nice breakfast quiet and staff is enjoyable. Lunch I sometimes had a sandwich by the main pool. I had lunch at other restaurant and it was good the only problem they would serve the same t night time. In the buffet they did not serve wine only beer and pop. Wine serve in specialty restaurant and VIP bar when it did not rain. I saw two shows the one in the pool is fantastic and other one on stage. They have entertainment during the day which is very nice. Food was not bad I always found something that I like. Bring your owned coffee for the room because they did not have any they only had tea also bring your sugar for room. They had lots of stuff missing but we have to realize that we are still in a pandemic. We had no donut maker outside no ice cream serve outside. The staff is amazing I had a problem and spoke to manager and it was fix the same day. My only complain is that I called to get my luggage brought to front desk and they never came to pick it up. They kept telling me in 2 minutes that they would be their. I had made good friends and they brought it down for me. I am elderly and I couldn't see myself bring it down. My other complain is that they let the Cuban people in to come swimming I understand it is very hot but they do have a beach close to Club Amigo resort. Plus if they pay they can also stay to eat at buffet. I understand it is hard to get food into the country but they should at least be respectful and get in line like everyone else. Also on the beach they do not have to be so loud. Other than that the resort is very clean and again amazing staff. If I would go back I would ask for a handicaps villa this was to hard for me going up stairs 3 times a day.

My friends stayed at this location and I was two blocks up from them. We hung out at both locations. This location was one of the few places where we had internet connection. Big plus if you plan on contacting people back home. The staff is not always on site but you can contact them and they are not far away. Really enjoyed the few since location is facing the ocean. Very good breeze from ocean each day.

They put the hammock right in front of the seaview so I could lay down and enjoy the view, talk to people of the pueblo passing by .... Extrreme good experience! Trullt recommended!

We had the room with the view to the sea. It was wonderfull. In the casa is a beauty bar where you can drink good Mojitos and others. The room was clean with lot of space for a couple. If you stay one or more days in gibara, this is a very good place!

Again, I lead groups of photographers (16) on trips throughout Cuba. This hotel is laid out with mostly villas style buildings. This can be confusing when you first arrive but it makes for some privacy with nice little patios off your room. A great place to read or edit you pictures. We don't normally stay in resorts but Fidel's funeral forced us from Santiago and it turned out to be a perfect place to recover from a very long day photographing the funeral and ceremonies. If you want to see some real Cuba hire a horse drawn coach and have them take you of the tourist trails and into Guardalapiedra and the camposino's home in the countryside. I found the staff at the front desk very helpful particularly in light of checking in a group of cranky and road weary Americans. The beds were comfortable and every thing worked. The food was plentiful and fairly tasty. I did not care for the poolside bar at the main building but there were other options closer to our villa and it was ALL INCLUSIVE.

The location is good, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast was perfectly OK. But there is a big BUT: the mattresses are terrible. Really. We spent 14 days in Cuba and this is the only place where we were unable to sleep due to the mattress. On a different note, Gibara does not have much to offer but it's pleasant and very quiet, which was nice for a change.

Despite booking in advance the family weren't expecting us as Yvan was away and I think life wasn't going to plan as building works under way and a fridge being operated on when we arrived! No hot water, didn't make a bed up for my son, bedside light in the very small bedroom didn't work. We moved down the road and had a while floor of a lovely family house for the same price per night!!

Stayed in the casa in march 2016,lovely place with very nice hosts. The view over ocean is spectacular, Giibara pronounced ibara is a quiet place unlike the really busy Holguin with lovely eating places for seafood. 1 small beach with a few sunbeds. Over all a different experiance to different places we have visited in the world.

Wonderful relaxing vibe at this Casa in the very sleepy and authentic Cuban town of Gibara. I had the front room which is massive by Cuban Casa standards. The en-suite bathroom is also quite big. I watched some amazing sunrises on the patio right outside my room. The lady owner of the Casa next door is also a serial sunrise watcher, and chatted happily with me one morning. This Casa, owned by Iliana, is run by some very good staff. The food was great, and they have a funky "Harley Davidson" Bar as you enter the house. Marielquis was the wonderful lady who cooked the breakfasts and evening meals. This lady knows how to cook ! The Rooftop Terrace is raw and not too pretty, but, the Ground Level more than makes up for it, because of the fantastic location of the house - right on the waterfront, with the sound of the sea to send you to sleep.
