Family members were able to choose the type of accommodation they wanted (one, two or three bedroom cabin, trailer site). The two 3-bedroom cabins are really impressive and centrally located, next to a common area that has a BBQ, tables and chairs, swings and a small children's play area, an indoor ping pong table, outdoor chess set, horse shoe toss, and a mowed field for badminton or soccer. Use of this BBQ area is first come, first served. There is a $500 charge to rent a larger BBQ area that is also centrally located.
We made good use of resort equipment housed near the boat dock on Lake Hallamore: row boats, kayaks, canoe and life jackets. Our two preteen grandsons particularly appreciated the two "kids only" kayaks.
Resort staff were friendly and responded promptly to requests. Cabins have modern amenities -- those with kitchens are well stocked with dishes and have a dishwasher. Cabins nearest the lake, presumably the oldest ones, are beginning to show their age but our bed was comfortable and the view spectacular so we didn't mind a bit of flaking paint.
We only ate at the resort restaurant once. Our first night at the resort was "pasta night" which turned out to be a buffet with salad and several different types of pasta dishes. Not much protein and no dessert. We had all brought more food than we needed and chose not to eat at the restaurant again.

Dear 12326WEjudyb, Thank you for your lengthy review of our resort. We do get a lot of requests for family reunions and have had no less than five here on the resort this season at the time of me writing this response. And we are already getting requests for both family reunions and weddings for next year. Our resort is ideal for such events with the forementioned large BBQ area that can feed up to 150 people at a time, the amenities area that is great for playing the different games from horseshoes, pingpong, basketball, chess and the kids play tower. And of course Hallamore Lake being right or our doorstep is a big plus with all it has to offer from kayak's to fishing. I do apologize for the lack of options you found at the Boathouse Restaurant on your first night, the big issue that we have is the limited seating we have at the restaurant and our ability to feed all the guests that are on site at any given time so we do the buffets to first make sure we can feed as many of our guests that we can and to also provide some time off for our team. There are plans in the works to be able to expand the restaurant seating capacity so we can better accommodate our guests. You are correct about the Chalets closest to the lake or the one hundreds as we call them they were the first to be built on the resort built from 2000 to 2005 and the two and three hundreds built around 2012. We do have plans in the off season to start refitting the one hundreds. Again thank you for taking the time to write your review and please think of us again for the next family reunion. Sincerely,

Alpine Meadows Resort is the perfect place to disconnect and reset so you can enjoy every moment of your days. We love nature and this place showcased the natural beauty of central BC. For us, 2 nights was not long enough. The resort is pristine and includes a large dock for everyone to enjoy swimming in a clean freshwater lake, kayaks, fishing boats, and paddle boards. We especially enjoyed the large hot tub, that was crystal clear and the perfect temperature and had a full view of the Alpine Mountains and Hallamore Lake. The log homes are amazing - I’d love to live in one permanently. The friendly hosts were there to answer any of our questions and gave us some great tips on exploring Clearwater. It was the perfect way to end our summer. We are already planning our trip back to Alpine Meadows Resort for 2022, with only one change - we will be extending our stay next year. Thank you, Wolfie & Tracey.

We stayed for two nights enroute from Whistler to Jasper, having had it recommended as a "hidden gem" by our travel agent. The final 20km is along a dirt track so don't worry if it takes an age to find, you won't be disappointed when you get there!!
The cabin was spacious and very clean and overlooked the lake, where we were able to borrow the canoes and rowing boats and enjoy the lake. Strong insect repellent is a must though!
Breakfast was taken in the Boathouse restaurant, where there was a choice of both hot cooked options, and continental style choices. We also had the pleasure of eating there in the evening (and booking is strongly recommended as the local town is a good 20minute drive away!). Not a huge menu but everything was delicious and service was fabulous.
This would be a brilliant place to stay with a group of family or friends!

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a road trip. Were warned about the road to the resort (challenging) and stocked up on food before leaving the town!! Our lodge was great, really big and a beautiful view over the lake. We ate at the restaurant the first night - be warned... great food but soooo expensive! The 2nd night we cooked for ourselves which was also lovely. I've seen lots of complaints about the breakfast but we thought it was adequate. My husband is coeliac and they had GF bread. We also made use of the washing machine and drier. We didn't walk around the site as we only had 1 full day there and visited the falls but we were told about the trails when we arrived. I'm sure it is so beautiful because it is remote but I really didn't enjoy the drive to and from. They could also make more of the restaurant by charging less so more people would visit as the food itself was good.

First of all don't forget to stock up on basics in Clearwater such as milk and anything you want for lunch before heading here as there's no shop, no lunch facility and you won't want to waste time going and getting any as it is a good 15-20 min trip along a dirt track road. The isolation of this place is definitely worth it though, and we had a perfect couple of days isolation where we saw Beavers, turtles and black bears in a stunning location facing onto the lake. There are only 39 cabins I think? Which are just beautiful, well equipped, modern and we would have stayed longer given the opportunity. You can walk the various trails, or take a canoe out on the lake or just chill from your balcony. There are amazing outdoor group spaces with modern clean communal BBQs, table tennis, fire pits, chess, a laundry room. Breakfast was perfect at the restaurant sitting outside overlooking the lake. Portions weren't large which suited us just fine, and dinner was just as delicious with the 'best ever beef stew' meeting my husband's expectations. If we weren't likely to return (as we're from the UK), I would be reluctant to tell anyone about this place as I would be keeping it a secret for ourselves. If you're anywhere near Clearwater then it's a must to stay. Oh, and thanks to Alana on reception for her help and friendliness 🤗

Beware this resort is 20k outside clearwater along a gravel dusty road. Be sure you have correct address as its not easy to find.
Superb location beside a lake. The cabin was comfortable. There is a restaurant with a limited menu. Breakfast was adequate. Any adjustments to your menu are charged extra. The menu seemed to be the same each day.
If you bring your own food, there is a microwave and eating utensils can be provided.
We would suggest this resort is for the able bodied clients.
The staff all very helpful.

Lovely resort that feels in the middle of nowhere. Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. Our chalet was very nice with good sized clean rooms with a decking area with a view of the lake. We loved being able to swim in the lake and try out their kayaks/canoes/row boats at no additional cost. The dining area was in a nice location overlooking the lake with hummingbirds regularly visiting!

Not the easiest of journeys as you are on a very uneven and unsurfaced road for what seems like ages. Go with it though as the drive is most definitely worth it. The site is immaculate and so well designed. We only stayed for one night but would happily have stayed for longer. It really is so peaceful and beautiful. We took out one of the free rowing boats and there were only two other boats out on the lake with us. The lodge was extremely clean, well designed and equipped with all that we needed. The meal we had in the evening was delicious and the inclusive breakfast in the morning was simple but tasty. The family owners seem to do everything pretty much themselves and were very welcoming. We would recommend staying here but be prepared for the off-roading to get there and take some provisions as the front of house office/shop has only a few basic supplies.

A lovely relaxed vibe in this stunning location. This place will not be for everyone due to its remote location and the 23km drive on a predictable dirt track, however it is well worth the effort. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to the location it is worth getting all your supplies in Clearwater as there is no store on site.

Dear 491frasers, Thank you for your review of our remote but lovely resort. Your review is correct in the fact we are located on a sometimes bumpy gravel road, we like to say here at Alpine Meadows Resort (AMR) "The Destination is Worth the Journey". There is no store on the resort at this time but there are plans to have some supplies at the front office for this year and a full convenience store for next year. And due to our small restaurant The Boathouse reservations are limited so it is a good idea to stock up in Clearwater If you plan to be preparing your own meals. Keep in mind that all of the cabins and chalets have a microwave and small fridge it is only the Chalets and two and three bedroom homes have full kitchens. We are lucky to have a team uphere that enjoy working with our guests to make sure they have an enjoyable stay. Thank you again for your kind words and we hope to host you again in the future. Sincerely,

The road getting to the resort is a bit of a challenge as it goes from hard tarmac to gravel/compacted gravel for the last 20km – you need to factor in sufficient time to drive this in the daylight. However, on arrival it is an amazing place – so quiet and peaceful. We had a 1 bed alpine chalet which was very spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the view from our chalet overlooking the lake was stunning. We had breakfast included in our rate, which was served at the on-site restaurant. The buttermilk pancakes were amazing – light and fluffy. We were only staying one night, but could have easily stayed for longer as it was a very relaxing place that you can just put your feet up and read a book.
One final tip - stock up in Clearwater on food and drink before heading to the resort!

Hi this is Jamie the GM at AMR Alpine Meadows Lakeside Resort. All cabins have heaters, however the chalets closest to the lake do not have AC. We call that area the 100s. All of the log cabins further back in the area we call the 2 and 3 hundreds have geothermal heating and AC and most have a very good view of the lake as you look over the meadows. It will depend on which cabin type you are looking for. The best thing to do is email me directly at gm@alpinemeadowsresort Sincerely Jamie Lewis
