Very close to the airport, didnt park here during our trip (there was cheaper parking right next door). Checked in the night before our flight, decided to eat at the restaurant located in the hotel due to not much as in walking distance. We never usually eat at hotel restaurants due to the lower quality and higher price but it was convenient this time, we got pizza which wasnt bad, came out quick, of course as expected expensive. The room was very clean and i LOVED the window blinds, they were built into the wall/window therefore it completely blocked out all light (couldnt sneak threw the ends/sides)-im a light sleeper so a decent bed and complete darkness is gold to me!) if you wanted some light, just dont pull them down all the way. We then stayed unexpectedly stayed when we returned from our trip-they had a room available and check in and out was just as pleasant & that bed was even more comfortable then the first one we got. When flying out of Montreal this will be my go to hotel.

Just passing through Montreal on our way to Belgium. Found this hotel on Marriott BonVoy.
As I was looking to book rooms for a large group (5), I directly called the reservation desk at the hotel. I can tell you that they went above and beyond what was required of them to ensure my stay was going to be a good one.

Lobby small and cozy. Check-in desk were really helpful and were able to make a change to one of the room for our return trip.

The rooms were spacious and clean and modernly decorated. It is a hop from Montreal Airport and does have a shuttle to and from. Pick up is at door 8 located at the departure level.

The carpet in the room was a little wavy in some areas and showed wear and tear. Shower is really spacious but found that the hot water was not hot enough for me. Bed and bedding were what you would expect. Firm but comfy. Linens great.
There is a safe in the room but it was not working and probably requires to be reset. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there is an area to purchase sandwiches and other nick knacks.

There is a restaurant located across the street at the sister hotel the Sheraton. The food is excellent and does have breakfast and a breakfast buffet.

Being so close to the airport you would think that it would be noisy with the planes taking off and landing. Never heard a thing.

Overall highly recommend this hotel.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will share it with the appropriate departments as we appreciate when a guest takes his/her time out to share his/her experience at Aloft. Aloft is a unique brand in the Marriott chain, which offers a loft style concept, which does not appeal to all especially the lack of the traditional restaurant onsite. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, nevertheless and we look forward to having you stay with us again.

Because of big delays getting into Montreal, we missed our European connection and spent the first day of our honeymoon stuck in Montreal.

We got to Aloft at 10pm, got a room and within a half hour of checking in, Daniel and Shanece at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and even brought us up a gift bag of snacks and drinks.

5 star service! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The reviews were mixed so I decided ro give Aloft a try so my points don't expire. This is during Covid-19 so I understand there are different protocols in place like mandatory masks for hotel guests. That didn't seem to apply to the front desk staff. After entering the room, I could only place calls by speakerphone and had issues with the a/c unit. Because of the coronavirus, nobody can enter my room to fix these issues. I mean, come on. What happens when I leave? They don't clean the room for 14 days? How about a different room? No dice. The bathroom looked clean until I took a shower. There is a bar that you can hold onto in the shower. Upon grabbing it, I felt some leftover body wash on the inside of the rail. Gross. All they offer in the shower is body wash and 2 in 1 shampoo with conditioner in dispensers affixed to the wall. There is 1 mini bar of soap by the sink but I doubt it is for the body. The closet doors are curtains and the windows have blinds that go up and down by chain pulleys. One of my friends tried to call my room for 30 minutes before someone at the front desk answered. There was nobody there when I went down at 7PM> I could have robbed anything from the snack bar (I didn't) and nobody would know. So here I am in a room with a speakerphone, an a/c unit that I can't work and nobody to help me with any roo problems because of Covid-19. Also, thank you for the invisible disinfecting wipes which according to Marriott Hotels are placed in every room. There is also a lack of hand sanitizing stations around the hotel. Go somewhere else if you want to be safe. Apparently the health of their staff is more important than the comfort of their guests.

Response from Benoit Chaumont, General Manager at Aloft Montreal Airport
Responded Sep 16, 2020
Dear IrwinG1968, Thank you for your review, and for staying with us during these unusual times. I have shared your feedback about the level of cleanliness and maintenance with the team as a teachable moment as to how we can continue to improve our services and our Covid-19 protocols. Regarding the masks, our Front Desk agent can remove these when interacting with the guest behind the plexiglass and when outside of the pod, they wear them. I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with the AC unit and the phone in the room. Because of the Covid-19 protocols, when a guest has an issue in the room, we move them to another room that has been verified. We also turnover the checked out room 24-hours after the guest has checked out and if its a long stay reservation as per Marriott protocol, the room is serviced by Housekeeping on request by the guest only. This way we ensure that neither are in the room at the same time. Disinfecting wipes are available on request. Once again, thank you for staying with us and for being loyal to the Marriott brand. We hope that your next stay with us will be much improved as we continue to work on reviewing and improving our Covid-19 protocols. If you have any further comments, please feel free to contact me directly. Sincerely, Benoît BChaumont@aloftmontrealairport.com

Front desk employee on the 22nd when I checked in was horrible.Stood there for 25 minutes while he tried to find the reservation I made through Redtag after I gave him the confirmation number and proof that payment was made.Instead of giving me a room and letting me get settled so I could get comfortable as I had an early morning flight he then proceeds to tell me I should have just made the booking through them and not Redtag as it causes "problems" for them? He sends me to a room which I then had to go downstairs and was given another room because he gave me the wrong one..go back upstairs and the key won't work again I go downstairs he finally gets it right.I ask for a 3 am wakeup call which of course never came glad I set one just in case.Needless to say I will be filing a complaint with both Aloft management and Redtag.I WILL NOT BE BACK!

We stayed at this hotel the day before flying to YUL.

The check-in was still fairly quick but when we arrived at our room it looked like someone was jackhammering over our heads. We went back to the lobby to find out what was going on and were told that there were renovations going on but that the noise should stop around 6 p.m. We didn't have any other quieter rooms to offer us. Fortunately the noise actually stopped around 6 p.m. but it was still a fairly unpleasant couple of hours in the room.

The services offered at this hotel are quite minimalist. The bar was closed, the bottles of water offered in the room were not there, no restaurant nearby and the choice of food that you can buy in the lobby is quite limited and very expensive. There is still a pool table where we could play a little near the bar to pass the time.

The positive points of this hotel are its proximity to the airport and the efficiency of its shuttles. Every 30 minutes you can catch a shuttle to or from the airport and the journey takes around 5 minutes, which is very very convenient.

On the other hand, we pay a lot for this proximity and I don't think we have very good value for money.

Next time we'll probably try another place.

We had booked the Aloft Montreal Airport hotel for the convenience of being close to the airport terminal & a very good seniors rate. Made 2 reservations that were 'apparently' secured with a credit card. On a late arrival (10 pm) at the hotel the desk clerk (Zaharia) seemed to be taking his time with our reservation & after about 15 minutes of waiting, he advised us that the hotel was overbooked. Not understanding why a confirmed reservation was not being honoured, he finally advised us that we could stay at the nearby Sheraton for the same rate. After a few phone calls, he gave us a piece of paper & told us to walk across the street to the Sheraton. On arriving at the hotel, we gave the desk clerk the piece of paper. She just laughed & said she knew nothing about our reservation, and that we would have to pay their normal Sheraton rate for the evening. The desk clerk at the Aloft, obviously lied. It was know 11:30pm & we walked back to the Aloft & asked to speak to a manager. The night auditor (Yasser) said there were no rooms available at the Aloft, and we would have to stay at the Sheraton. At this point we were tired & frustrated. We asked to cancel our reservation at which time to desk clerk & the night auditor signed a piece of paper that we would not be charged for this reservation. It was also interesting to note that the desk clerk told us that 2 other reservations (yet to arrive) would also not be honoured. Returning to the terminal we spent the most awesome night (NOT), trying to sleep in a chair in the terminal; as we had an early morning flight. I also cancelled the return reservation on our return to Montreal.

Returning home & looking at our credit card statement, we were charged the full amount of our reservation. Again the desk clerk & night auditor lied. Called the hotel & talked to Mandy. After about 10 minutes of discussion, she finally agreed to issue us a credit. She made us feel that it was our fault that we did not get a room.

The Marriott chain should be ashamed of having the Aloft Hotel qs part of their chain. Be warned, if you have a reservation here you probably will not get a room.

This hotel is functional for a quick one-night stay during an airport layover. The reason it's not my favorite hotel near YUL airport is because all room types are essentially the same so upgrades to a more spacious room cannot happen, unlike at Sheraton right across the street where I have suite upgrades at times. In addition, Sheraton has a club lounge and Aloft does not so when I have time to spare for happy hour then Sheraton can provide more value.

That said, if travelling solo when upgrades are less of an issue, and when the price premium of Sheraton over Aloft is excessive, I don't mind staying at Aloft and save some money. The rooms are decent and they have a shuttle bus from the airport just like Sheraton does. So when the price is right I am ok with a stay at Aloft; we just need to keep expectations moderate.

Two months ago, I received an email cancelling my reservation. This was after booking and confirming my stay, getting a reservation number, etc. After several phone calls, I was told that because of COVID, the Canadian government has reserved this hotel "just in case." Okay.
I made a reservation at another hotel.
Less than one week before I was to have stayed at this hotel, I received an email from Hotels.com, confirming my stay. Here is the text of the email:
"Here's all the information you need for your upcoming stay."
I will NEVER use Hotels.com again. Their communication is substandard.

We selected this hotel specifically because we were told there was a Tesla charging station we could plug into. When we arrived at the hotel and asked where the charging station was they walked around the outside of the hotel and eventually pointed us to a standard electrical outlet. The hotel was average and we would not have selected it if we knew there was no electric charging station.

This past November, they did offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport and hotel. I believe it ran every 15/20 minutes. the airport terminal will have signs to follow for shuttle buses pick up area. The buses are marked with the hotels they go to.

This is an airport hotel. Your ship will leave from downtown Montreal (old Montreal area) which is quite a few kilometers awayfrom the airport hotel. If you decide to stay there, a cab will be your best bet. At the airport you also have a bus direct to downtown, which would mean to take the free shuttle to the airport and then the aerobus to downtown. Dorval (the part of the city where the airport is located)is roughly 25 kms. So as per time concerns, Montreal roads are often under construction in the summer and fall months, you can expect a cab to take anywhere between 35 minutes to 1h30 minutes depending of time of day and day of the week. You should look at hotels in the downtown core or in Old Montreal where you have much more to experience since old Montreal has the "old French/Europe" style , beautiful restaurants and much more to do than in an airport area where everywhere you want to go, except the airport, is a cab ride. Price for price, to board a ship my choice would be dowtown or Old Montrea Hope this helpsl
