We visited in summer 2019/20 from the UK and had a wonderful time. The hosts are super nice and so helpful; the room was spacious but not huge and was very pleasantly situated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast service was fantastic. This is a place where you are made to feel special and the hosts treat everyone like a real guest and not just a customer. The location is gorgeous, the vineyards lovely and there is loads to do in the area. Jeanette even dropped us down at a local restaurant and collected us so we could have a drink (but this was over and above what anyone should expect!).
Would happily go back again.

We were a late Saturday evening booking yet the welcome could not have been more kindly. The setting, on a hilltop in the midst of vines but within easy reach of the amenities of Ruby Bay, is truly spectacular and the few rooms were carefully thought out with smart toiletries and a very comfortable bed positioned so that one could lie in bed enjoying the sunrise over the vines. Breakfast, delivered on a tray and eaten on the private terrace table, was delicious with homemade jam and fresh bakery items. Sadly we live a world away from Pine Hill Lodge but if we are ever in the area again we will defintely return to Jeanette & Paul's wonderful retreat.

Four of us — two American couples — stayed 4 nights with Jeanette and Paul. Everything about them is first class, and they take care of everything from a homemade and hand-delivered breakfast to suggesting activities and places to eat in nearby villages. The property is gorgeous. Our lovely unit overlooked vineyards and the sea in the distance. There’s a hot tub for relaxing in after a day of biking, hiking or kayaking at nearby Abel Tasman National Park. Jeanette and Paul built the home and its three guest units. They let us pick lettuce from their garden and a lemon off a tree. They run the B & B plus manage a small vineyard. As we were leaving, they brought us homemade chocolate chip cookies. Their warmth and hospitality was a rare treat.

The room was very modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast were specially prepared according our wishes and with the timing as we liked it. Help was given with the booking we wanted in the Abel Tasman National Park close by. A walk through the vineyards was a nice experience in this place. Additionally we were encouraged to pluck some fruit from the trees in the orchard which we did and consumed afterwards.

Thank you very much for the very nice review, Hans! We are delighted to know that you have enjoyed the stay with us, strolling through the vineyard and picking plums from our plum tree. (Now you know where the plum jam you had in your breakfast comes from!). We hope to see you again if you visit the region again in the future.

Thank you so much for the lovely review! It is our pleasure hosting you over the Christmas period. Truffle and Bacchus had great fun playing with the pine cones that you gathered from the vineyard. There is still a half chewed up one lying on the side of our garden hedge. I am sure they will remember you for a long time! Hope you have found our Facebook page. I will be uploading some photos of them soon. Hope to see you again when you visit the region again.

My partner and I spent two nights at Jeanette and Paul's Lodge and had a wonderful time. We particularly enjoyed eating a delicious breakfast outside our room looking out at the vines and having a big cup of coffee in the sun. We were also there at the right time to snag a few of the plums straight off the tree.

Pine Hill Lodge was a great base to do a long day walk in Abel Tasman National Park, only a short drive away, but is still very convenient to head into Nelson for dinner.

Their dogs are also lovely and playful... throw the ball with them if you can!

Everything was perfect: location, the place, the surroundings, and of course the lovely owners.
They will make you want to stay there forever!

Hint: you can ask them to organise a picnic in the middle of their vineyards.... it was absolutely delightful

What a wonderful stay we had at Pine Hill Lodge. Unfortunately we were only able to stay there for two nights. The accommodation is located at the end of a small road and is therefore very quiet. Jeanette and Paul are very friendly and helpful people. Nothing is too much for them. The room was very nice with a nice terrace and access to the garden overlooking the vineyards. Breakfast was brought to the room and was more than sufficient and tasty for us. Should we be able to go back to beautiful New Zealand we will definitely go back to this place.
